Poems For Review / Mourning Night by poetictwenty(m): 10:10pm On Oct 20, 2020 |
Mourning night The stars has gone into hiding , The moon wish she can be relieved of her duties. They can't watch anymore the bullet piercing the bodies of my friends; Friends who only wanted to see the end of the pains caused by bad governances. We were only warriors armed with placards and a United voice. But they came with guns pointing at our helpless selves Taking with them lives of our brothers and sisters With their coward bullets becoming brave at our unarmed bodies. My heart has become like a heavy cloudy sky It can’t hold anymore the sorrowful rains battling to leave through my eyes. It’s at this moment that I wish the grave could come with her peace. Or my ears could be deaf to even the words of my mouth. I will sleep with tears drenching my pillow And if the sun ever wakes to see me breathing. Just know that I have only a sad story to tell about this night And I can only wish you good mourning in the morning . (20/10/2020) Is this the vision 202020 they told us about? 4 Likes 4 Shares

[quote author=Gbyms post=95104960]I remember how excited I was during the NNPC recruitment. Aced the test, got to the interview, I could beat my chest that I did well. Coupled with my source at Managerial level, my name was on the success list. I was already geared up for resumption. My source kept telling me to pray because swapping names always happen in things like this. After all said and done, APL was released and I didn’t get it. I was depressed. Sometimes I stroll to NNPC thread remembering the good old days of being a hopeful. Haha. I even emailed Nnpc telling them to check well as I was supposed to get the letter yet nothing. Anyway my point is, while preparing, start praying from now. You are good doesn’t mean you would be chosen. Don’t be too excited too so you don’t get damaged when the worst happens. Cheers. P.S I applied for this job casually tho so good luck to all of us. 1 Like |

Amazinggirl95: that question is wrong or incomplete. ...first, the unit of resistance of resistors is ohms, not watts... secondly, the 4ohms is it the equivalent resistance of the resistor (total resistance) or the resistance of each resistor..if the later is the case, then you can go ahead with the solution. having in mind that equivalent resistance for restors in series is = R1 + R2 ....and when in parallel it is R1R2/R1+R2....and so on.. 2 Likes |

MOCKING SMILE While our tears flood the streets in our fatherland The crocodile that defends our land chose to smile at us. They hope to ASARsinate the bravery in us But they failed to understand that we buried our fears at the graveyard of a brother swallowed by their guns. (2020) 1 Like |

Asarsinated I will tell tomorrow of how my taxes bought bullets that ended a friend’s life And denied them of having friends born by my friend. Tomorrow will read the story of how I buried my cowardice At the graveyard of a brother that was ASARSinated I will tell tomorrow about today and the bravery of my kind , Of how we buried our fears and faced our nemesis So, giving then a Nation where they are not killed For turning their bodies to a black board where they write their emotions I will be in the history book of tomorrow As a united voice that spoke in a divided Nation I will remind them that their voice is their power But will be heard by all, if they all speak in oneness. Religion / My Thought On The Parable In Mathew 22:1-14 by poetictwenty(m): 6:25pm On Oct 11, 2020 |
Have you at any point pondered on the parable of Jesus in Mathew 22:1-14 Before the king gave order for the man without garment to be caste into everlasting darkness, he first questioned him. He asked him to give reasons why he was not on his wedding garment. But the man was silent, having no reason for his actions. As I ponder on this parable, I was able to draw an analogy between the scenario in this parable and the last day, which to me was what Jesus spoke about in the parable. The king asked the man to defend his actions and by so doing, convince him(God) that his actions was right. But the man chose to be silent, which means he had no reason for appearing the way he was. This same question will be thrown at us on the judgment Day,. And I pray we will be able to convince the creator and prove to him that our actions on Earth was right. Some Christians believe that drinking of alcohol will take one to hell, because it is a sin, While others believe it will not because it is biblically acceptable. Whatever we do on Earth, we should have a reason for doing it . Not just a reason but one that will convince our creator on our judgment Day. little wonder the Bible chose to call it "Judgment Day, in the court of the most High". We should have a reason why we are Christian, Muslim, Buddhist or Atheist. Because we all will be asked to defend ourselves. I hope will won’t be silent like that man in the parable. Family / Voice Of An Unfortunate Child by poetictwenty(m): 11:09am On Oct 03, 2020 |
Voice of the unfortunate child The schools has thrown open her gates again Now I have to return with my empty brain I know I will be back to the teachers that look at me with disdain To them I am not fit for school so the make insults rain Sometimes I wish they could see the effort I put They little I know still surprise me But, To them I am not doing enough when it’s not my fault. I want to say it, but I am too afraid to open my mouth I am tool that does everything in the house House, because there is no home for people like us. I am the bin everyone drops their anger on Because, I don’t deserve love as a child that lives with curse. I love the books, bit I can’t open it. Why would I when I work 24/7 with no food to eat I envy other children reading, even that of this my Aunt. She treats me differently because I am a child from the Street The classroom has become a place for me to sleep Because at home, while others sleep ,Virgil is all I Keep. Not that I want , but my chores are many that even my heart weep. So teacher, don’t hate me , but hate my world that bleeps (2020) |

Poems For Review / Tales On Diamond by poetictwenty(m): 10:27am On Oct 01, 2020 |
Tales on Diamond This day once told a story of freedom; When an Eagle became free to soar the limitless sky A sweet happy story that has become bitter for today to tell. Now we tell this story wearing sadness on our faces This is a story of a child born with greatness and potentials In her sixtieth birthday , she’s still hidden in the body of a baby Crawling with weak legs and bedwetting with smiles Daily, she sits in her mess watching her peers attain lofty heights This is a story of a beautiful gorgeous woman. she lies stripped naked and raped in the market Square While everyone watch with folded hands waiting to take their turn Now she walks the street with shame hanging on her face. This is a story that leaves us with no love, strength and faith An ode that tells of the vain of our heroes Labour. This story force sorrowful waters out of our eyes And leave our divided voices asking for God’s Help (2020) 2 Likes 1 Share |

IF If failure builds a nest in your life And sorrow flies around the sky of your thought Leaving hopelessness clinging to you as a wife; Like a caged bird, never stop singing the songs of hope. When all around you gives way And you’re left to walk in darkness alone . With the night holding back the moon rays; Hold you peace for morning will surely come with the sun. If troubles floods your life like a storm Forming a dark cloud in your heart. Guard the boat of your thought from going down For the storm is just a wind, it will someday pass. 2020 5 Likes |

Politics / Economics Of Electricity Generation In Sub-saharan Africa by poetictwenty(m): 5:49pm On Sep 01, 2020 |
The adage “Being in the River, yet the ladder of soaps enters one eyes” best describes the lack of Electricity in the Sub-Saharan African countries, especially Nigeria. A research by Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) shows that 2 out of 3 people in Sub-Saharan Africa do not have access to Electricity. 87% of these people live and work in Rural areas. These rural areas have been found to possess the potential to generate the cleanest of Energy. In Nigeria, The grid system in which generating stations and major consumer centres are integrated is employed by the power Authority. With an installed generation capacity of 12500MW , but 3500MW to 5000MW available onward transmission to final consumer ,it has become practically impossible to meet the power needs of the general populace connected to the grid. The shortage in power has forced the authorities to come up with measures to ensure the base load areas get more power than the rest. These measures now leave certain locations (mostly rural areas) without power. This no doubt have negatively affected the Economy of the country. “The reason why Africa exports raw unprocessed materials is simple: Africa does not have Electricity. Lack of access to power has pushed Africa down to the bottom of global value chains” (Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, AFDB president. 20l6). In as much as Electricity is important, the manner and way it is generated should be of interest to Africans. Our ecosystem is constantly polluted by carbons being emitted by machines we can’t do without -From vehicles to industrial machines which aid in the manufacture/ production of goods and services. Little wonder Kenya president, president Kenyatta reiterated the need to employ green energy in generations of Electricity and other materials. To him ,it is important to leave a world where the next generation can live, rather than destroy it just because we want to solve the problem of epileptic power supply. “ Africa is blessed with a bounty of green renewable Energy. In the past, we have done little to develop these riches well. Dirty energy has proved to be as damaging as it is expensive. It eats up our resources and it leaves our children sick by the roadside. Africa can no longer afford it” (President Kenyatta, 2017) As the National Renewable Energy and Energy efficiency policy (NREEEP) plans on how 60% of Nigeria Electrical Energy can come from renewable Energy by 2030; we must also consider the possibility of utilizing the Embedded generations of Electricity system in powering rural areas, considering the fact that materials to run this materials can be easily accessed there. It won’t only be cost effective, it will ensure proper security of materials used in the electrification project. As communities will naturally take up the responsibility of securing the equipment , knowing that what ever goes wrong will directly affect them. Also, with the wide acceptability of solar systems by the general populace, The National Electricity Regulatory commission (NERC) and other relevant agencies should come together to make sure that solar system and other renewable Energy is cheap and affordable, so Nigeria and Nigerians can quickly transit from the dangerous way of generating Electricity through Generating sets and other carbon emitting electricity generating machines to a cleaner mode of Energy generations in a shortest possible time. Religion / My God And I by poetictwenty(m): 7:44am On Aug 30, 2020 |
My God and I Like a son about to harvest his needs From the pocket of his father. I took the steps of humility to the throne of grace. Armed with a faith as small as a muster seed. As my kneel humbles itself in prayer My lips threw open its gate Allowing my tongue to offload my worries In the ears of my heavenly father. They say if the Earth is a restaurant That air is her waiter, it serves everyone. Like a chef whose aroma make noses to love breathing in I fill the air with praise for my God to inhale as he want. Like a child whose father is his friend I caste my self in his hands For his hands is always open to receive me In him all my worries ends 2020 1 Like 1 Share |
Properties / What You Need To Know About Solar Systems by poetictwenty(m): 4:14pm On Aug 29, 2020 |
There is this erroneous believe that solar system is costly. most homes and offices who are always in constant need of power supply shy away from going solar; because of reasons not far from the amount of money the need to part with, in other to set up a complete solar system. Truth is, "solar is not cheap". but it is not also costly. solar system can be a long term project. one can start by buying the inverter systems and few batteries (UPS MODE) . This can be charged by the grid systems or even generators. A good battery used by a consumer with a good knowledge of Energy management can help make power interruption a thing of the past. SOLAR is cheap, eco friendly and durable when you purchase a quality product . contact an expert today, so you won't invest your money on the wrong product. Engr. Joseph solar expert |
Poems For Review / Caged Feelings by poetictwenty(m): 1:33pm On Aug 28, 2020 |
If I lose my tongue today With my power to speak taken away. I will only grieve for the one word I didn’t say I love you more than trees love sun rays. If I can break this walls around my scared heart. I will let you to queen the home within it But if fear was a bird, My heart has become her nest . If you can look into my shy eyes You will see me kneeling with flowers. But my fear has become my slave master. It has chained that part of me in the prison of my thought. If my hands was that of a poet I would dissolve my heart in a pen And let my feelings flow like ink. Maybe, you would see my love buried in those similes and rhymes. If today should see the end of me. Rest in peace won’t be for me For my heart will be tormented by the love it caged Because in my heart , your face was painted on each page 2020 |
Poems For Review / Questionnaire by poetictwenty(m): 3:42pm On Aug 27, 2020 |
In the dead of the night, when the moon king the sky My mind became like a River conquering it bank . Before my lost wakeful eyes, I went in search of answers; Answers to questions that have drowned the wisdom of many wisemen. I reminisced on how the sun rise like a man from slumber; After its day work,it switches duty with the moon. The beautiful sky standing as a roof Over the mighty building without pillars called Earth, The stars twinkling from the highs like it’s winking at me . The waters that move through our Rivers. Like a man touring the Earth. The Tree that I remember how it grew from a seed,- A seed of orange I put in the womb of Mother Earth. I saw him waiving his branches and leaves Because of a touch from same invisible food my nose eat. My eyes are blind to see it. But like a blind man whose hands has become his eyes I do feel his presence with my hands. Someone once called it Air. The hen that clocks my morning , The goat crying for food in my father’s barn, The bird singing an ancient song from atop my orange tree: They all behave like me in ways I know. I saw the goat give birth to her kind Same way my son looks like me. They also fuel themselves by food the eat. Maybe they also ponder on this same questions storming my mind. Looking at the man staring at me From the mirror standing before me. I pondered how all came to be,- The human, the universe, Animals and Tree. If human can create pens, cars and houses. Then something created the Humans, trees and universe. Who ever this creator might be I wish he lives in me like humans live in house the created. I want to be like a pen in the palm of his hands. Just like a poet, he will craft me into a well structured poem That will be read by many generations. I would love to be a phone made by him, So he can call his children that are far from his presence. 2020 1 Like 1 Share |

Poems For Review / When Hope Dies by poetictwenty(m): 1:36pm On Aug 11, 2020 |
This is like a Night without a Moon Leaving darkness to King the world around me. I strain my eyes searching for rainbow But I see nothing in this dark round prison. I feel like a Caged broken Lion Left to be tormented by the Demons of loneliness. In the grave of my silence, I reminisce on my Days. While my tears curse the day I was born. I count my breath, wishing the next will be my last. Daily, I pray death could come for my rescue. Life is now Burden,as death whispers peace to my ears. When hope dies; fear of death dies with it. Poems For Review / Heaven's Touch by poetictwenty(m): 11:41am On Aug 09, 2020 |
As a storms raged in my heart, My life became a ship on a troubled water. My today was on a dead-end. Fear ruled my thought. My sins kept my mouth away from my saviours ears. Heaven's gate was shut against me. I was lost within myself -wandering. All I had to console me was my tears. As I count my breaths , waiting for the last. I opened myself again to my God. I threw my fears to the wind And I forgave myself of the wrongs of my past. My desire became to know my saviour more For all I needed was a touch from Heaven (2020) |
Poems For Review / I Am Sorry by poetictwenty(m): 3:02pm On Aug 03, 2020 |
I am sorry I caste this words on the oceans Hoping that fate will be a tide sailing it to your path. This is not a word of a man on a dying bed, But one who has seen the wrongs in his rights of yesterday. So, I build my sorry heart on this imperfect unstructured poem. Hoping it will be standing when you come looking for me. I'm sorry for the list of lies I sold to you yesterday; The mansion and cars for mama, The privates jet for Papa to go see the world. And the hope of better tomorrow I promised to be yours. They were all dreams planted on the soil of my minds. I'm sorry for being a bad farmer; I planted those seeds in my thought yesterday, But it couldn't grow into a tree; It died! The gods denied it sunlight and rain. It only knew the colour of the moon, For it's days has been a dark night. Maybe,I was a bad farmer planting on a poor soil; A lazy farmer who couldn't travel to the clouds to fetch sunlight and rains. I am sorry if I came across as a saviour; Maybe, I thought I was, when I am only a debris left at the shores by the tide. Maybe I took the world as my personal project, When I was only but a sand in a desert. Don't mistake this as words of a defeated man. I am just a man who has defeated his fears. If tomorrow travels on the journey of forever, Please, paste this on the vehicle conveying me to mother Earth. Maybe ,it will be a time to say sorry to all that lived in my heart. (2020) 1 Like |
