Poems For Review / The road by poetictwenty(m): 10:29am On Feb 04, 2020
The road
Struggles of life have withheld my crown,
Making me drown in life's ups and Downs.
I now move my life on the railway of lies,
Hence allowing my true self to die.
.

The love for pleasure have made me senseless,
Hence drowning my morals in the ocean of 21st century madness!
I now promote immorality without shame.
Goodname have I sacrificed for riches and fame...
.
Where went the incorruptible me?
Where could that righteous me be?
Where is that boy that loved his Creator,
Who even his pastor can attest for?
.
I lost myself trying to fit into the world;
Making valueless my parent priceless words...
I pray I find myself someday;
Hopefully, before I embrace death on my dying day.

Poems For Review / Words Of My Father by poetictwenty(m): 5:52pm On Feb 02, 2020
Father's words are still inked in the pages of my heart.
Words that became a map on my journey to manhood.
Leading me throw the horror road of survival,
And maybe, putting me on a success path.
...

I was taught that men don't cry,
So, I learnt how to lock my tears in my heart.
Making my heart a cloudy sky, covering the beams of its sun.
A sun that should have painted my face with peaceful smile.

...

"Be strong like a man my son".
I wore this word like a shoe,
When life covered my path with thorns.
With it, I fought the battle of survival in my darkest night,
And watched in victory as the East birth a 'new sun'.

..

Dear son, never forget that it's a man's world.
These words wore me the regalia of a king.
And put on my head the crown of pride,
But, placed me on the throne without a kingdom.
Until I realized that great kingdoms are made by humans who have more than three legs.
Men who saw beyond their umbilical cord.

...

Now I have learnt to see beyond the shores of Papa words.
I learnt to cry through my pen,
Hence, saving my heart from floods that is about to drown it.
I grew stronger romancing my pen,
And braver stitching my heart with poetic words.

Poems For Review / Please Teach Me! by poetictwenty(m): 2:17pm On Jan 31, 2020
Teach me how to pen down my pain
For my soul still bleeds from wounds of yesterday.
With blood Flowing through my voice like an ink gushing out of a pen.
Let me walk the path of healing by dropping all on a paper like a rain.
.....

Teach me how to write happy poems,
For I am like a dirty river,
who wants to feed its fishes with healthy water.
I need healthy waters to nourish my dreams.
....

Teach me how to stitch love poems
My heart has become a rock,
Too strong for roses to grow on.
But can be penetrated by arrow of Cupid -the pen.

....

Teach me how to write lullaby.
Peace embraced my heart each time Mama's voice walked me to sleep,
Chasing sorrows away and making life look like Mama's delicious foods.
Even my heart still wish to crawl back into being Mama's baby.
....

Teach me how to write Odes.
So I can write my name in a book,
A book having names of great men and women who left their footprint in sand of time.
Even though we are boys who life wore men's shadow.

Okay thanks Sir we should be expecting the invite when Sir

When is 5th batch graduating

I can only give a time frame. Since it's a one year program, I believe it shouldn't exceed February, since they were inducted in February.

They were inducted Feb 21st

I just read about it on a blog.....the induction of the 5th batch and graduation of 4th batch held on that same day.... So, induction of the 6th batch might hold on same day that 5th batch will be graduating.

By throwing tantrums at everyone who comes up with info that we aren't comfortable with, won't stop APL from coming when it wants to come. sometimes, we should allow time to prove everyone right or wrong. The best reply I have read on this thread is a comment from adedayo66 to alert0, long before Cbt mail started dropping.

There is a popular proverb in igboland that says, "A lizard don't run for nothing in the Afternoon". I used that proverb to describe the recent visit of FCC to the Towers.
We have seen many sources dishing out info - some pleasing to our hearing , while others are frowned out immediately our eyes comes in contact with it. But we have failed to ask ourselves some pertinent questions, most times, because of how eager we are to see the end of this recruitment.
Recently, I was pondering on the info from "panalyst" and the recent follow up info from "Dawani". I must say that I have never doubted any info here, no matter how unconvincing the info might sound.infact, each info helps me keep hope alive.
When I read that the court case have been reassigned to justice okon Abang, I was happy. I was happy not because He (Abang), will speed up the case, but because, I know that most cases he has handled in recent past, had always been in favour of the present Government ( I stand to be corrected). A lawyer of his caliber will frown at any attempt to disregard his order, and APC won't like to lose one of their most trusted ally from the south .
Again, let's assume that NNPC was able to secure an out of court Settlement with the aggrieved lawyer. I am not a lawyer, but my little knowledge of law and from cases I have followed up in time past, made me believe that when two parties settle out of court, they will still inform the court of their decision, then the judge will subsequently dismiss the case in the next hearing . Inview of this, I think it will cost NNPC (a company that want to portray herself as law obeying institution, judging from their "TAPE" slogan ) nothing to wait till the next hearing for the case to properly dismissed and then go ahead with the next phase, which is to invite the successful applicants.

The list might be ready, but a 22 day waiting won't change anything , considering the fact that they have waited for even longer time just to make sure that they met all the needed yardsticks for a federal recruitment process.
So, even if FCC came to the towers just to issue compliance letter to Nnpc, I won't be surprised if the list is not published anytime soon...
Abeg , before you call for my head, just know that this is not from a source , but just an assumption borne out of critical analysis.

I have seen countless source info litter this thread. Some turned out to be true, while some became what I will like to call a "failed truth" . my experience on a custom recruitment WhatsApp group really made me see reason with a friend of mine , who will always say "It cost nothing to believe". On Thursday , last week, A member of the above mentioned WhatsApp group dropped an info (from his source), that shortlisting will start from today, Monday 13 Jan 2020. As usual, other sources started popping out from their hiding places. Some even claimed that the recruitment has been cancelled and a fresh Registration will start soonest. Some claimed the heard the custom c.g saying that there will be new recruitment because, the lost the details of those that Registered months ago. What do I know .A sourceless local man like me. I will just clear the chats after reading what each source has to say. but , deep in my brain, I have all the dates, prediction and source info saved. Like play like play, I just woke up today to a mail from custom , informing me to start packing my Kaya to my village (my state) for a Cbt exam on Thursday. This men no get joy. Me wey dem don book to come repair light for one street like that , base on who I be .#street certified Engineer

Poems For Review / Letter To Mama by poetictwenty(m): 1:59pm On Jan 12, 2020
I know the stars will fall at my feet someday.
The rain will oneday give way for sunshine.
Our drenched body's will someday dry up
When the future becomes today.

I can see the clouds gathering,
Hugging each other before it drops like rain-
A rain that will wash away the pains of yesteryears,
Before leaving us with a happy ending.

I won't forget you when I bid farewell to tomorrow.
For You're inscribed in each page of my heart.
You're like a rose planted in the garden of my life.
A rose that grew strong in a soil covered by weed of sorrow.

Countless times, I saw when you stood on you knees,-
While knocking on heavens gate for my sake.
Even when it seem the door was never opening.
But you won't just give up because of me.

Now, The sun has risen, signifying the ends of those horrible nights.
Paint your face with smiles dear Mama,
Move your feet for joy.
For the night has given way for a day so bright.

What I have is in Bayelsa and it would be most suited for someone with whose background is Electrical (at least engineering). It gives the person opportunity to make very little earning and, IMPORTANTLY, get some on-field experience.

I'm beginning to lose hope on the possibility of this recruitment ending anytime soon...I came across a thread - https://www.nairaland.com/3905316/invitation-nigerian-college-aviation-technology - while trying to find my way to this Nnpc thread. The said recruitment have been on Cbt stage for about 2years now. Which way Nigeria?

considering the number of successful applicants that will be trooping in to the towers for medicals and induction,... I THINK NNPC would like to conclude this process when the towers will be less busy- the number of people going about their day to day activities in the towers would have reduced in a geometric progression. No better time comes to mind , than this festive period where most staff would have gone for holidays and business at the towers at near stand still ....

Poems For Review / Lamentations Of A Warrior by poetictwenty(m): 5:53pm On Dec 13, 2019
My heart is drenched by sorrow
My days now grow darker.
I have become like a tree in a desert waiting to Wilder.
Even my eyes has become blind to see a better tommorow.

I lie awake all night, praying and pondering,
Hoping the day will bring with it happiness :
Only to embrace another day buried in sadness.
Another day that greets my morning with good mourning.

Hope has become a scarce commodity.
Dream has become a nightmare.
I'm lost in my body , but I'm not aware,
For my body now looks like a desolate city.

These pains has made me stronger,
My mind is now like a Stone:
Broken, but will remain strong.
Give up?...never!

I have become a fighter -
A fighter that careless about how many fight left to win.
I have become a mother hen,
Patiently incubating my eggs, till life springs out.

Poems For Review / Manhood: My Journey by poetictwenty(m): 9:24am On Nov 23, 2019
We learnt the dance step of survival,
When life wore us the shadows of our Father.
We became a Stone :
Even when broken, we remain strong.
Like a flowing water,
We marched on,conquering every danger.
We challenged life to a fight,
Fighting bravely, like men with a lion heart.
We became a word on the lips of the next generation,
A word that describes men who defeated their tribulation.
Men who left their footprints in the sand of time,
Even when their paths were covered with mines.
Even after being lost, forgotten and left alone
Like a pin in the middle of an ocean.

Poems For Review / Let Me Be Your Literature by poetictwenty(m): 9:45pm On Nov 21, 2019
Can I be to you a comedy?
So I can make your heart smile even in tragedy.
Can I dissolve your pain into poetic lines?
So you can be fine at all times.
Let me be the last word you hear each night-my baby.
So, I can sing your heart to sleep with lullaby.
Let me be the reason you smile when surrounded by silence.
Especially when you playback images of our memorable scene.
Can we be more than just a friend?
Because, you are a drama that I won't like to view the end.
Can I poem my love on the pages of your he'art'.
And Lord over your heart till death do us path?
Can we take a walk together to the future.
Holding each other like an hands holding a novel -literature.

Poems For Review / Guilty by poetictwenty(m): 8:02pm On Nov 19, 2019
Each morning I watched her with pity -
An epitome of a child that was born guilty.
The street was her home -
A place she learnt to survive on her own.
As other children head to school,
I watched as she arrange her hawking tool.
She became to her family: A bread winner,
Wearing the heavy shadow of a Father.
Her voice resonates each morning
As she embarks on her prayer of mourning.
With a voice spiced with sorrow,
She prays for a better tommorow.
For today is another sad story,
A story that is in sharp contrast to her name- Glory.
She hope to someday be like her mates-
Happy, free and food on her plate.
She was a prisoner of fate,
Convicted long before her birthdate.
Guilty for a wrong she knows nothing about.
But, for being a product of her parents make-out.
Having children with no plans for them all,
Should be a crime purnish able by law.
Don't just plan to have kids,
Plan also to meet their needs.
Poems For Review / When A Poet Love's by poetictwenty(m): 10:46pm On Nov 13, 2019
When a poet Love's
Let me paint you with words
And hang the portrait on the cranny of the world.
Let me dissolve your beauty into lines
So the world could know you're mine.
Let me poem the words from my heart,
Because, my heart calls and for you it beats.
I will make words rain till it floods a million books,
Thousand eyes will see beyond your good looks.
Your name will be housed in libraries around the world.
Because you're stuck in my heart like a sword.
I will make pens dance for your sake
I will be beside you when you wake,
And Cuddle you to sleep with lullabies.
Because when a poet loves: the ink suffers.

Poems For Review / Unmasking Life by poetictwenty(m): 9:31pm On Nov 05, 2019
UNMASKING LIFE
At the peak of my solitude, life unmasked herself.
As I danced with my thoughts,
While comfortably surrounded by ghost of silence.
While watching blindly as trees whisper peace around itself.
I dived into an ocean without boundaries.
Allowing my thought to drown in the fierce looking ocean,
As I search for the true meaning of life.
Life appeared as a sea without tributaries,
It flows out of a source that's mystery to mankind
And still flows back after it's done with its travel.
It rises and falls with seasons.
I learnt life is also a wind -
It blows and disappears without us seeing it.
Sometimes, leaving behind footprints carved from it's presence.
Now, I have seen what life really is.
Life is just what we believe it is.
