MrColdsweat: "AS IF IT WERE ONE OF THE STATES"
If abuja were a state like the rest, this phrase wouldn't exist. Let's even for the sake of argument say that the constitution recognise FCT as a state , the AND on it's own is a conjunction. It says whatever else you might have achieved in the election you MUST obtain 25% vote cast in FCT. Whether FCT is a state or Capital Territory is, for the purpose of the conjunctive clause, immaterial.
I see no way out for Tinubu in the case, unless there is a miscarriage of justice. |
Politics › Re: Alarm: Tinubu Is Surrounding Himself With Men That Helped Abacha Loot Billions by PointB: 10:55am On Mar 31, 2023 |
swaggerjack: Abubakar Bagudu: In the plunder machine that late kleptocrat Abacha set up, Mr Bagudu was the most prolific bagman, court documents show.
“Abubakar Atiku Bagudu was an associate of General Abacha and his sons who participated in the conspiracy to steal and launder hundreds of millions of dollars,” American investigators told the court. “Among other things, Bagudu played an instrumental role in setting up and executing the complicated financial transactions used to launder the proceeds of the conspiracy.”
Mr Bagudu was involved with all the offshore front companies and bank accounts – from the British Virgin Islands to Ireland, Switzerland, Germany, Singapore, England, Paris, Guernsey, and Jersey – used to steal and launder billions of dollars belonging to Nigeria under the Abacha regime. He acted as a director and in some cases as a signatory of accounts or prime beneficiary, court documents revealed.
He was behind the latest recovery in the UK alongside Mohammed Abacha.
Mr Bagudu, who was a former senator, has been the governor of Nigeria’s northwestern Kebbi State since 2015 and is an ally of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Gilbert Chagoury: Mr Chagoury is a Nigerian-born businessman of Lebanese descent. He is the founder of the Chagoury Group, whose multi-billion-dollar assets span construction, manufacturing, real estate, and hotels. He has accrued an infamous track record for decades.
Mr Chagoury was convicted in 2000 of money laundering and aiding a criminal organisation. In the 1990s, he set up accounts with SG Ruegg Bank in Geneva for the Abacha family enabling them to benefit from illegal transfers of over $120 million from the Central Bank of Nigeria and secured immunity from prosecution, court documents showed.
He later paid $600,000 in fines to the court in Geneva, Switzerland, and refunded $66 million to the Nigerian government.

They are of distinct identity from the Hausa/Fulani North. Check Nigeria map. Look carefully, if you understand cardinal point you will see that Taraba and Benue state are in the cardinal point South East Nigeria (South East is Opposite South West on the same plain). They have nothing in common with Sokoto and Kastina, not even language.

Christistruth03: The Truth is that Peter Obi lost
He couldn't even Produce only 2 Governors in all Nigeria Just to prove to everyone beyond all doubt that he won
APC had 22 Governors
Peter Obi knows that he lost Can you swear with the bible that you believe that Obi was not cheated at the ballot in anyway? |

Because both GRV and his Deputy defected from PDP now go and verify Jandor did not hustle enough for votes. He didn't do enough campaign. Why did you think Sanwo Olu had to resort to ethnic bigotry, suppression, and violence to rig the election? It cos the votes didn't belong to him and he had to manipulate the process out of fear of losing. In a free and fair election, Sanwo Olu would have lost! Votes don't belong to anyone, you have to convince the people to vote for you, unless they are mindless zombies. |

alanto: There's something I don't understand about Obi and his Labour party supporters.
Where exactly did Tinubu rig the election?
Is Obi suppose to Win SW that you call afonja everyday? Or are the Muslims in Yorubaland that you called different insulting names supposed to vote you?
Is Obi supposed to win in PH of Wike, the same Wike that IPOB put bounty on his head for killing them in Oyigbo?
Is Obi supposed to win the Almajiri North that you insult and curse everyday? The same people you are killing in the SE like rats?
Tinubu lost his lagos, APC lost Osun that has PDP governor, APC lost Ganduje's Kano, El Rufai lost Kaduna, Buhari Katsina, Lawal's Yobe, Lalongs' Plateau even to LP... Whereas APC didn't get 2% votes in the whole of SE. If indeed the whole Nigeria votes the way SE did apart from their hateful utterance and action Obi will only have SE votes because North Central is still north and SS are aligning nationally, they have said it many times that they are not with SE...
So where exactly did Tinubu rig the election that labour party was supposed to win? That's for the court to determine. Don't worry about where. Just know this and know peace: Peter Obi is coming... |

Penguin2: Femi Fani Kayode has stated that nobody will break the new found trust between the north and the Southwest.
He goes to infer that the APC/Tinubu is trying to build a new Nigeria of North and Southwest.
The implication is that the Southeast and the Southsouth have no place in Tinubu’s government.
So, if you are from the Southeast or Southsouth and you are supporting Tinubu, it’s time to ask yourself some existential questions.
Hopefully this will get to Wike and co.

chivic: Something is not adding up. 1.Someone came 3rd and he is seen as the major threat to the president elect.
2. Someone came third but while the party that took second was trying to prove that the election was rigged, they made mention of the fact that LP got over 900,000 votes in Lagos specifically, without mentioning there own case from their situation room.
3.Wike was know to have frustrated LP and ensured that APC won in the presidential election in his state, only for him to recently claim that " He knows that OBI won the election"and that he is not saying it to make anyone happy ,but let the court decide.
4.Only recently,ATIKU ordered his representative through Chidoka to work closely with LP.
5.Only recently RENO (of PDP) Obi's number 1 critic and attacker apologized to OBI for saying he rigged in Anambra state claiming that he has confirmed that Obi is loved in his state and subsequently went ahead to suggest how Obi could reclaim his mandate .
6.Though,PDP (2nd) and two other party took their case to the court ,it seems to be only OBi's case that is making wave ,Infact,it's only his petition that seems to be on the front burner .
7.There probably is something that both PDP, and others are seeing that most Nigerians have not seen. Could it be that the situation room collated result and other empirical fact has suggested LP as the winner ? The blind can see, the deaf can hear that... ... Peter Obi is coming. |

Zonefree: I was excited when Seun said Agbado is not an ethnic slur. Agbado aka Corn is my favorite dessert. I once read one Agbadorian suggesting that 85% of Nigerian forest be mowed down and used to plant Agbado. I thought to myself, this guy must have Agbado for a brain. Did he consider the ecological disaster such might cause? Clearly not, cos he's just an Agbadorian. |
Politics › Re: What Constitutes Ethnic Slur On Nairaland? by PointB: 11:58am On Mar 30, 2023 |
Still waiting for the clarification.
It's going to be really difficult as task to list them. For example some might argue that Aboki, Afonja, IPOB are all ethic slurs. I disagree.
Aboki means my friend, Afonja was a legendary Yoruba warrior who took a different path, while IPOB refer to an organisation created by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
So it's a tricky one, but as the Op has taken the case to the 'Tribunal', it's best we wait for their judgment, as law abiding people. |

bablon20: It's no longer a news that the President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu celebrated his 71st birthday yesterday. While he was out of the country Bola Tinubu has opted for prayer instead of his annual birthday colloquium.
Dignitaries and politicians all over the political sphere have sent him congratulatory messages and good wishes on his birthday but there are some notable politicians whose names were missing on the list of the well-wishers and one of these names is that of Peter Obi of the Labour Party.
His reason for keeping mute might not be far from the outcome of the just concluded presidential election where he claimed his mandate was stolen by the president elect Bola Tinubu. Among the notable politicians who refused to congratulate BAT on his 71st are Atiku, Sowore, Datti, Kwankwanso and many more from the opposition parties. Tinubu has no real birthday. He's birthday is fake; a concoction. |
