Mr. Globe:Members of the tribunal have no mandate to raise formal issues/protest against candidates. The one who did withdrew it. I have interpreted the rules to the best of my understanding. If you think you have a case, present it to them formally. There are three of them. And I know they can independently reach a conclusion on any issue, and have power to upturn my interpretation of the rules. I simply CANNOT disqualify a candidate in the middle of an election based on your say so. Please give it rest. |
Mr. Globe:So why didn't you raise your opposition to her candidacy when she was being nominated? Why wait now (as we approach the end of the poll) to issue threats, and cheap blackmail? Any petition you have against her should be directed at the Tribunal after the poll. Until then, and as earlier stated Ogugua stays on the poll , and she is running against policewoman. |
One just have to wait for credible news source to air this stories. To many false news from Sa-Liars Reporters these days to take any news of theirs on it's face value. |
500 hectares of land from Ogun State to Lagos State. Hope this is not another 'Bakassi' in the making. |
@op, No words for Sanusi yet? |
High_Chief: Excellent. You have been doing so well Nwanne, your transparency and openness must be commended. We are fully behind you.Thank you my brother. |
Imanuelle: Something for us all to remember,Sir if indeed the election is going to bring disunity. It will be of Okija_juju, and you on one side against your brethren. A few renegades are always a constant feature in life. However you should blame it on Okija_juju flip_flopping - accepting the verdict on one hand, and later bringing uninvited non Igbos to make a scene with the intent of creating confusion and disunity - the same thing he was accused of, his trademark! My kind advise to him and you - is that you should prepare for another election, by reflecting on his conduct before the election, and during the election with the aims of making necessary adjustment. Look at this thread. Your brethren are casting their votes dutifully, and prayerfully, but you and Okija_juju are shouting division, and making a scene. So in your own mind PointB is capable of enstranging you from your people? Because of one man, you will fight a whole ethnic group, with a band of renegades and strangers, I suppose? Well go ahead, you and Okija_juju. But don't come back next year and say, the rules were specifically made to target you, because we will strive to ensure only those promoting united Igbos lead us. I have made concessions, and have urged every of our brethren to be involved in the development of a robust electoral policy, including code of conduct for Eze and would be Ezes, and I hope they rise up to the occasion. This is where I expect you and Okija_juju to actively canvass and pursue, knowing fully well that his disqualification cannot be upturned. The aim of the Eze Ndi Nairaland is to help us rouse Igbo to form closer bond, and speak in unison and cohesion. We may not have done it perfectly, but seeing several Igbos on this thread all trying to help forge a common front, I think we are making headway. Your doomsday prophesy is doomed. I call on you to join your brothers in building, as Okija_juju (a politician) will definitely do, after all his parambulation and divisive behaviour. Udo diri nu, Imanuelle and Okija_juju! |
PointB: ELECTION UPDATE - PRESS RELEASE |
9ja_I_hail Welcome back. And thank for withdrawing your comment about one of the contestant. GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT My attention has been drawn to some calls for the disqualification of Ogugua on the same basis as Okija_juju's. Please note that the Nomination Rules were for Eze Ndi Igbo and was partly adopted for the test run of Eze Nwayi. Even at that, Ogugua comment did not denigrate 'other Igbo group/sub group, state, or institution' She hasn't be found going thread to thread slating Igbos from other states or making distasteful jests about them. And at the time of her nomination and up till now, her comments did not portray her as someone whose candidacy will cause general uproar, and disunity among us. In other words she met with the basic requirement. As earlier noted the Eze Nwayi position is been given a test run. More robust rules will be set next time. I find no ground for her disqualification. Her candidacy stands! PointB Electoral Commissioner |
ifyalways: PointB, my voice is loud but check well, very well,I've never been the first to spoil for a fight.I am just surprised. Didn't see you as the 'fighting' type. Well perhaps I didn't know you that well. Anyway, let us all just take it easy. It's just an online title, lasting just one tenure. Beside, the Eze/Eze Nwayi will not do the job alone. They will work with their kinsmen/women. |
You should all give it a rest. Ify I think your voice is a little too loud. A times you amplify things said in a whisper. @all Let's also cut Ogugua some slack. When she made that comment she was challenged by those around and she retraced her steps. Let me also remind you all, that in emphasising on the things that divide us, we fall into same pit we are trying to get out from. For the duration of this thread, let's of focus on what we expect of whoever emerges, and less of slating one candidate or promoting the other. Or we should cast our votes, and take a hike. We can use the other thread for some of these chats or the Parliamentary Office. Thank you all. |
PointB: Well, the cut-off date is implied in the Nomination Guideline. ifyalways: PointB, are votes from ids less than a week old valid? PointB: Well, the cut-off date is implied in the Nomination Guideline. As for who are our allies or not. I will need the help of all of us in identifying them from our numerous interactions with NLs. Otherwise, the Electoral Team will decide who is friend or foe. |
Please keep your votes coming... |
======================== MARKER 73 VALID AND INVALID VOTES AT THIS POINT ======================================== |
Nine votes in page 8, two votes in page 9, none (zero) in page 10. One in page 11, and one so far in page 12. Voting is slowing down. |
One_Naira: You can change your vote if you do not want her. Her one Nigeria and ejine post about her might influence some opinion about her but i still stand we should give her a chance. She's not that bad, at least, judging from some of her post in both culture and celebrity section. If we don't like her ruling, we can veto her.We are only allowed to vote. Perhaps after the election we can organise: 1. Electoral Reform Conference 2. Code of Conduct for Eze and Eze Nwayi Perhaps there we can decide who have veto power or who doesn't. Ogugua and Policewoman were nominated fairly, whoever wins will work with the Eze and his cabinet. "She will NEVER WALK alone." And Ogidi can't change his vote. Imagine if everyone is requesting to change their votes? It will be too 'messy' to manage the tallying. Vote cast before the MARKER are already counted and recorded. Going back and forth because people cannot make up their mind isn't ideal. |
OgidiBoy: @pointB,No sir. The ballots papers has been MARKED. You cannot retrieve it sir. |
High_Chief: I High Chief, Ori Ego N'uko ego, nke mbu na Enugu State, hereby vote:My brother daalu. |
Ejiné: However, I must admit that BOA dude looks really suspect. But mehn, you did not state it on the rules, so all voters remain VALID, until you can fully prove they contravened the laid-down rules.Well, the cut-off date is implied in the Nomination Guideline. Poster registered ess than three months by the virtue of the Nomination Guideline are considered 'under age.' If they are not qualified to nominate, surely, they should not be qualified to vote. |
@Balkan, Thank you for helping bring sanity to the thread. @All Again, all valid votes will be counted, and invalid one void. For the avoidance of doubt 'under age' voters such as one below will NOT be considered valid. 2 million https://www.nairaland.com/1083049/eze-ndi-igbo-election-2012/4#12679623 BOA®: 1 https://www.nairaland.com/1083049/eze-ndi-igbo-election-2012/5#12681623 Old posters whose current IDs have been banned should ensure they vote with the ID as soon as their ban is lifted. This poll will still be on at least till Friday. Vote cast for illegible candidate(s) will not be counted, and cannot be changed after the MARKER sign. Please make your vote count, DO NOT waste it. Keep your votes coming. Thank you for participating. |
I believe the cassava bread policy will help put more money in the pocket of cassava farmer, and of course cheaper bread. Well meaning Nigerians should support the move by buying this bread. |
@One_naira Thank your for agreeing to ignore some of our uninvited visitors. As for your advise to me, rest be assured, that I am guided by the rules. Not by what some brigands want. Thank you again. |
Here comes the MARKER: ========================================== TOTAL NUMBER OF VALID AND INVALID VOTERS = 70 ============================================= All votes before this MARKER are locked, they are edited at voters' risk! |
Thank all for voting. Pls I urge you all to stop every form of canvassing or De-marketting on this thread. Let the voter decide who they want from the list of the eligible nominees on their own accord. Odumchi is as capable as OnlyTruth likewise Policewoman in comparison to Ogugua They may however not use the same methodology. I will also urge us all to help identify unqualified and under-age voters, so that I can add them to my void list. Thank you all. Pls keep voting... |
@Lastpage, the observer. The Electoral Team have done a lot to ensure credibility and transparency of the process, as you can see. Well known 'Ofenmanu' as you put it are wasting their time voting - whether for legible or illegible candidates. Our people have been enjoined to be at their vigilant best to help us identify these infiltrators for justice to be served. Thank you for observing |
Thank you Willy7 for your prayers and show of support. |
Odunnu: We have turned this thread into a chat room of some sort. I am so ashamed that everybody is guilty of this! If you vote please go away and continue the chat on the other thread. My sister Odunnu thanks for the point of order. Please my people let's cast our votes and go away. So that the electoral team can easily identify the votes cast for your favorites candidate. Don't bury your votes in a pile of chat. Use the other thread for chit_chat. It has all the historic fact. Thanks for obliging. |
My brother ejiFranks, Thank you for your incisive analysis, thoughtful recommendations for Okija_juju and appreciation shown the team. Daalu |
goldylock: Sorry oh! My Igbo is only good spoken not written because I write it they way I speak it.Lol. For all you know, you are a better writer/speaker than me, and most of us. Writing Igbo or not is not going to be use/held against you. It is not an official stance of this gathering. Thank you again for voicing out. Udo diri gi |
I didn't know that poor Nigerians can sponsor terrorism as to warrant the distinction. Security Expert indeed! |
My sister goldylock, Okija_juju was disqualified not because of his comment/position against Ojukwu. I have consistently wrote that he was disqualified for denigrating people from our sister state direct or indirectly. Furthermore, our rule says those whose candidacy causes uproar and disunity should step aside or be disqualified. As per reviewing the rules, we shall do that after the election. I hope you will be there to argue your preference. Thank you for participating. |
ujchief: not fair. If theres a tie, the tribunal should decide who will be the Eze.That's fair enough. I agree. I reserve my right to be neutral even in the face of a tie. So Tribunal Over to you. By the way, is midnight of Friday ok to close the poll or would midday be fair. All time in GMT. |
