EZE NDI IGBO ELECTION UPDATE The Electoral Commissioner is of the opinion that Ndi Igbo, and their allies have been given ample time to make their nomination as evident from the lowering number of nominations (and of course trolls the opportunities to roll in the gutters as it is in their nature.) The commissioner is also of the opinion that over 80 percent of the nominees are aware of this thread, and will make their decision known in due time. Best efforts will be made to reach some of the nominees who the commissioner believe are unaware of this election. Members of the Electoral Team are and the public are enjoined to help in this regard. While recognising that the role of the Eze Nwayi position is not clearly defined, it is the opinion of the electoral team, that due to the fact that the role is at infancy stage, the position should be poll and whoever emerges will assist the Eze in the definition/demarcation of the role. Ndi Igbo need leaders, and a leader who can hit the ground running - male or female- is always a gem. To this end, we believe Ndi Igbo will choose the right Eze, and Eze Nwayi. Furthermore, it is the estimation of the Electoral Commissioner that the process need a little more injection of vigour, and perhaps a quicker transition to the finishing line. On this basis, the Election will commence by 22.00 GMT today, Tuesday 2012. The first nominee with 5 votes or more to throw his hat into the ring will be polled alongside the incumbent - Eze OnlyTruth and Odumchi. In the absence of this, the latter duo will square off. The Eze Nwayi Election will also run concurrently. Nominees are therefore enjoined to prepare for election. Those who wish to give a manifesto or campaign are free to do so. It is however not mandatory. The guideline for election will be made public as soon as possible. Igbo Kwenu. Our train is moving full steam ahead. We cannot afford it to be derailed. Thank you all very much. Special thanks though to Afam4ever, Ujchief, and 9ja_I_hail, members of the Election Tribunal, as special arm of the Electoral Team. Umu Igbo Ndewo nu o Electoral Commissioner PointB. |
@Lastpage, Thanks for your comment. When we get to that bridge, be assured that we shall cross it. |
ChinenyeN: Compared to last year's process, this year leaves much to be desired. Granted, last year was saturated in novelty, making this years process to seem somewhat retired (with it's stalling, backtracking, issue-mongering etc.). Anyway, whomever is running the show here should prioritize by moving things along. A process isn't a process unless it proceeds. The process is foot dragging because the nominees are not dilly-dallying in accepting their nomination. We have to wait for at least one more nominee to accept. Failing in which we will poll only two of them. But we rather it is done well, than quickly. |
ChinenyeN: You people are still discussing Okija? The guy is popular. Ivynwa: Okija Juju is a strong character with some great leadership qualities but some of his utterances makes one wonder whether he is really Igbo as some posts of his does not show a person that appreciates his Igboness if he is really Igbo and from Okija ndi Ogo m.Indeed, and no one is taking that away from him. But as far as the election is concerned, he has contravened the rule. Frankly speaking, I doubt if Igbos will appreciate someone who goes about dissing other state (Imo especially) as inferior to Anambra. Point is that many people may not no this, but the people urging him on are same people who will pull up some of those thread to embarrass us when we least expected. That sad thing is that he doesn't denounce completely, he said he was just jesting. Demeaning other SE state in jest, is not particularly a character worthy of an Eze. The decision to disqualify him might not be unpopular especially among Yoruba folks who are use the opportunity to feign fake sympathy, but in the end, even though the Eze is symbolic we must do it right, we must protect it from wrong, and divisive characters. No shaking! |
pazienza: Eziokwu ka ikwu, but we can't allow them to demonize pointB and onlytruth, thereby playing with the emotions of our female folks here. These people are masters of deception,it runs in their blood.lol, I am not in anyway moved by their clowning. I doubt if OnlyTruth is either. As for our ladies, well they will eventually realise that the rules were set and followed with best of intention. And sooner or later that will learn to distinguish between genuine remorse and crocodile's tear shed by Okija_juju and his band of brigands. |
hypeman: PointBTroll! |
tpia@:Meaning Ijaws are not Nigerians?? Even you? ![]() wonderful |
whitecat007: All SW states must convey a meeting immediately to lobby FG to remove Ondo state from SW region, Yoruba population in the few Yoruba local govts in Ondo state are less than the the population of Yoruba in Benin Republic. The SW leaders have fought a good fight and its time to let Ondo state join their kith and kin in the SS region of Nigeria. SW will still be left with 5 states and can move forward. This must be captured for posterity. Who knows when it comes handy. ![]() |
jason123: Op is a mor-on! Because the good people of Ondo state rejected ur king tinubu-the thief, u r now panting like a wounded mouse...haha!Did you just say that? Let them catch you. ![]() |
pazienza: The fact that awoists like ekt bear, shymmex and co are in support of okija juju says a lot.My brother thank you very much. Such words are soothing compensation for time spent by us on this process. Thank you again. |

Onlytruth: Now we are talking!Noted. Will be updated before I go to bed. |
ekt_bear: By "a lot of Igbos", you mean you by yourself?I think you are beginning to sound silly. This is where I leave the conversation. |
^^^ noted |
ekt_bear: The issue is, who is the one determining this behavior? It is certainly not the people who have chosen to DQ him beforehand, is it? No, it is you and your clique. Why not let the people decide what the qualifications for candidacy are or should be?Point is that, the process in still in infancy. It's not like everyone can easily volunteer to do this for a week or two non-stop. Paucity of personnel, time and other factors are of primary concern, as such there are bound to be some flaws. Besides, we already have an Eze and his cabinet, and they are responsible for formulation of policies. Let me ask, how many people did Fashola consult before churning out some of his policies, and is everyone happy? And why do you (and others) think this is targeted at Okija_juju, how about Chino or perhaps Rossik and others like them? Point is, the Eze Ndi Igbo is the custodian of Igbo culture, etc in here. And this is the line he decide to toe. There is no way we can conduct an election on a faceless forum without making basic attempts to filter bad influence. And yes, not every one will agree to the rules, but majority are. And that good enough for us. |
pazienza: BLISS4LIFE is too busy with bakassi matters these days.I can imagine. My thoughts are with her, and the bakassi people. She has my goodwill any day! |
Onlytruth: Nna ike gwuru!Nwanne, obu hu ihe ntakiri |
Chidoxyl: Your stance is fine by me!Thank you for your kind words. |
realkendy: I THOUGHT ODUNNU IS A Yoruba AND WHY IS BLISS4LYFE NOT ON THE LIST?I LIKE THE BABE'S IGBONNESS.NDEWONUBecause the list is based on nomination. We can only put her there if someone who is qualified nominates her. |
Onlytruth: For a guy that often prides himself as intelligent, I marvel at how ekt_bear sometimes can't string together the simplest of logic.Beats me, that everything has to be spelt out, not only to him but also to a host of other who thoughtlessly bought the okija_juju's victimization hype. |
And by the way, 'clique' is just a figment of your imagination. The process is as tranparent as possible. Apart from Afam4eva, the other Tribunal Members had no clue they would be picked. They were randomly selected. Okija_juju and the rest of his gang are just paranoid. |
ekt_bear: The hilarious thing about all of this to me is that there is basically zero reason to disqualify Okija Juju...he doesn't have much of a chance of winning anyway. No one is afraid of Okija_juju. His disqualification is simply a formal way of letting him know that there are certain behavior expected of those who aspires to lead us. Whether he has a chance or not, does not come into the equation. Even if he had one vote, any one who contravenes the rule will be disqualified. It is purely symbolic, not tactical nor strategic. |
Chidoxyl: Yeah, I see your argument in regards 2 my thot above. But me think dat since d process of choosing an Eze Ndigbo on NL has been dubbed an ELECTION, contestants/candidates 4 such elated post should be glad 2 attach their pix 4 all 2 see. (Just like we all saw d face of president GEJ & d oda contestants b4 voting them in, me I go like see d face of my would-be president, ooo)!Anyway, perhaps in future that could be possible, but that day has not come. This process is still in it's infancy, this is the second election. Meanwhile, who are you nominating for Eze Ndi Igbo and Eze Nwayi. |
coogar: take your disgraceful self out of here, you horse-lover!Make me! |
Anyway, I have no time for this. I have an election to run, so please if you guys don't mind, I am going to put most of you on ignore. Your opinion and presence is of little or no relevance to the election we have here. Your nominations don't even count for starters. |
hypeman: ^^^^Yoruba people on NL have Kats as their natural leader on here, we don't need an election... And PhysicsQED is the voice of Bini Kingdom!!! Ndigbos need to elect someone of that calibre as well..So Kats is smarter than Gbawe, and Ekt_bear, Isale_gan, and host of others. Wonderful! ![]() |
Chidoxyl: Umu nwannem, nde wo nu, oooo!I don't think that's necessary. With the kind of hate some people spew here over a symbolic election, seeing the faces of their supposed traducers will only prompt them to act it out for real. Thank you for your positive outlook though. |
Well, those who asked to hear from Eze Onlytruth, have heard from him. And we shall move on, as we have been doing since. |
ogugua88: ^^^ How does an Igbo person talk? How do Igbos use words that make it easy to recognize he or she is Igbo?"Fruits dont fall too far from the tree." "By their fruit, ye shall know them" "Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh" My dear choose one of those, besides we are not kids here! |
hypeman: Who's more pro-Nigeria and pro-unity than Rossike on NL?I see. |
ekt_bear: PointB clearly has gone mad with powerHow so? By interpreting the rules? ![]() |
hypeman: Ivy my precious e-wife, why nominate Onlytruth the bigot if you really want the bolded part to happen?Lol, Rossik. |

I don't want to be part of his "for and against" side as I can't handle ill feelings this evening.
