@PointB, good talk dear
Most ppl just open mouth & roll out rubbish. Continuity is necessary in governance
Emphasis shd not be on who started it bc its not v necessary
Rather we shd pile praises on who delivers
GEJ has been trying to complete most worthwhile projects
He is equally trying hands on laying good foundations for new ones
Most people are unable to decipher the upbeat bc of the pit we are all in
If GEJ gets needed cooperation he will make reasonable input
There are ares he needs reverse gear anyway, and such is expected in life
Thank you ooo.

It's good to know that objective people abound in this place, not people who argues like junkies.
Thanks again.

Wow, Chime Sulliven is really working hard as the Governor of Enugu and will work even harder as the President come 2015. Lets make it happen people.  wink

For all those critics talking about rust, it really is not your fault becos u don't know wat a railway track looks like, u probably never seen one in your life.  grin grin

Nyway railway track steel only comes to bare becos of wear from train commute as seen in the pic below. Does tracks are very ok, just need the engineers to lay them appropriately.
Carry on my sister, nothing do you. Chime, Rochas, or Mark for 2015. grin grin grin grin grin

Is there any fact to suggest that the Chinese do not have a significant presence in Nigeria? Or are we suggesting we do business only with Chinese and ignore the west completely?

I think the best strategy is to get as many people as possible on board.

Personally I prefer the French to the Chinese when quality is the issue.

Seems like a nice development. Keep these youth busy in schools learning useful skills or have them become militants or suicide bombers tomorrow.

I kind of like Rochas style. I only hope Imo State Govt follow through on these many developments.

Any group that has strong fraternity bonds and sworn to fight evil against members is very likely to develop into a gangster group especially if there is a society with poor justice systems and strong belief in traditional medicine powers. No one can remember when these fraternity groups were not seen as campus terrors. That is the method they used to influence campus politics, fight injustice and strenghthen  bonds in future. Soyinka had a strong and stubborn personality, and in his younger days, probably would use any means to fight evil, including aggression. After all his name was never Saint Wole. With more maturity he became more peaceable.

That is my take.

PoliticsHow Would You Plan For 2015? by PointB(op): 1:04am On Nov 24, 2011
How would you Plan for 2015?

2015 is not too far away, but far enough for people to start concrete plans should a split become inevitable

Here are my lists of suggestions for people of different zones.

SE/SS

I will start with SE/SS.
SE/SS will be heavily hit with the initial wave of returnees in the (un)likely event of Nigeria splitting.
While it is not certain which parts of SS will for join rank with the SE in a new nation, it is however a certainty that they would face the same challenges of food, shelter, and employment.

Below are suggestions individual from these two regions should follow to help alliviate the issues.

Start NOW
- Start repatriating vulnerable family member back to your cities, town, and villages gradually. This will create the need for food, shelter and employment - certainly a huge market
- These needs can be met by creating small to middle scale industry (fish farming, poetry, soup making, food processing, etc). Home gardening should not be underestimated.
- Address shelter concern by remitting over the next three years some of your income to build houses/homes. A good strategy for those with extra income is building a commercially viable house (multi storey building or face-me-I-face sort of house.)  Pressuring state governors for housing estate should be part of the housing strategy.
- Tactically and strategically sell off some of your assets and investment, or gradually relocate your business to the SE/SS

Serious planning and execution, and of course speed are of essence in this zone

SW

South West has no serious cause for concern here. The migrating population of none indigenes will be minimal especially in metropolitan Lagos. SW will live up to their billing of playing down any existential threat, and trying as much as possible to assure residents of peace and security. Many will however skeptical none indigenes will send vulnerable and family members back to their region/states. Concern here will be basically economic.

From 2012
Below are suggestions individual from these two regions should follow to help alleviate the issues.
- Start assuring residents of security of lives and properties
- Understudy certain business/economic niches of  none indigenes with the view of providing those in case of uncontrolled exodus
-  Start saving money to buy off properties and business that may be offered for sale by returnees

Guile will once more pay off here

MB

Start now
- An engaging dialogue is required for people of this Zone. This dialogue should border on what should happen should Nigeria split. Since this zone is basically full of minority tribes, they would do well to start preparing to join any of the major tribe in the event of split; as nation formed by a few states in this group is far-fetched but cannot be ruled out. Politically joining the South in the union will pay off for them. But in the case of three way split, a three way split of the zone should also be politically expedient.

Their agrarian economy may be an advantage in the short term, but in the long run, industries and other
economic model may be needed, as commercial farming in other zone can nullify that advantage.

Caution is of essence in this Zone

Core North
Start Now!

Being part of a larger Nigeria is no small feat for them; keeping it soon will be their end-game.However, this region seems getting set for whatever will happen. A ban of Almajiri type of school and rapid introduction of western style education will benefit this region in no small measure.

But 2015 is a tard too short for the benefit to be reaped.

- Individuals from this region will benefit from renouncing violence and embracing peace.
- Radical change in agricultural practice and a manufacturing will benefit them
- Need to understudy certain business/economic niches of  none indigenes with the view of providing those in case of uncontrolled exodus should be paramount
- Understudy certain business/economic niches of  none indigenes with the view of providing those in case of uncontrolled exodus
- Start saving money to buy off properties and business that may be offered for sale by returnees
-

Speed and tact is of essences in this zone

So how would you Plan for 2015?

I stand by my WORDS!  angry

You can lament about Igbo suffering in the North, but many Igbos such as myself who see Alaigbo as our ONLY home do not care.

The BIGGER FOOLS are the Igbo who continue to live in the North, knowing the history of the region.
Living in the North does not make any Igbo man a fool; what I would rather suggest is that the take adequate measures to protect themselves and family while there.
And welcoming home prodigal sons in one of the hallmark of the Igbo man.

Take is easy man.

what have they done again

it is your decision to live in the north, Now it is your decision to leave the north. Any problem with that

In fact I am highly disappointed in Jason and co for replying in this stu.pid thread

You all should know what would become of it. Igbos are very emotional people and telling them the truth would be seen as HATE for them.

Rather KEEP SHUT and pray for the returnees safe journey. Chekena bar dubayya juna

I see nothing wrong in that.
make it larger perhaps the yoruba man will present you with an award for killing Igbo while 'sparing' yoruba.

guy everyone see through your guile, your desperate attempt to reach out to yoruba is very pathetic.

NAS a.k.a Pyrates Confraternity is non-existent in primary, secondary or tertiary institutions in Nigeria and indeed anywhere in the world as they were proscribed in June 1985 on all university campuses. Get your facts right! And which "our university" are you talking about if I may ask?
Non-existent officially. But in secret.

My take based on all the information supplied so far is that.

1. Wole Soyinka founded or was a founding member of National Association of Seadogs (NAS) aka Pyrates
2. Pyrate confraternity was created to fight social malaise in injustice using non 'conventional' means
3. Along the line, the confraternity  meta-morphed into a dangerous cult
4. Ever since them, the Nobel Laurette has been trying to dissociate himself from (t)his monster

One other thing is clear, we cannot dissociate Wole Soyinka from Pyrate Confraternity which now operates as a secret cult.
Some of the worst human affiliations are rooted in the basis of best intention. Wole Soyinka should admit his mistake and move on. He is human.

Are Imo, Abia, Rivers, and Delta states not part of Niger Delta?
And are Igbos not found in these states?

Or what exactly do you understand by Niger Delta?

It only appear so because some of our neighbours are too cowardly or treacherous to count the own dead. Or maybe their dead compatriots are necessary price for unity.

But for Igbos, one dead child deserves calls for sorrows, tears and reflection. Igboman blood is sacred.

When your tribe reaches that level of spiritual consciousness, idi.ots like you will not come here to pretend it is only Igbo that are butchered in the North's recurring insanity.

That's food for thought.
PoliticsRe: They Said We Are Cowards! Nothing Will Happen If Fuel Subsidy Is Removed! by PointB: 5:53pm On Nov 23, 2011

I hope the cars you will park on the highway has good tires, side mirror, jack, and other accessories that can be easily removed. Otherwise you won't recognize the car by the time area boys finished dealing with it.

Some of those cars will certainly go up in flames before the end of day 1.
PoliticsRe: Only a Civil War Can Take Place In Nigeria Not a Revolution by PointB: 3:23pm On Nov 23, 2011
I get you now. But even at that the president kinsmen are more or less in the minority. It would be beyond them to single handedly cause the president to be removed. There are other large and small groups who voted the president for tactical and strategic reason. They will need to be on board for anything of such to happen.

In other words a nation wide revolution against the president is far-fetched. GEJ will complete his tenure.

Don't mind that dude. He is desperate to force us to stay in his chaotic mess. So, he grasps at straws and forget that he is a strong minority in his own corner of Delta state. His people were never known for fighting for freedom.
He fears that Biafra or an Eastern nation may actually rise and succeed. So, he attacks our unity in the East. Desperate I tell you!

Even folks outside Nigeria are very bitter and angry at how things are back home.
A friend just returned from Nigeria and told stories of how she was almost killed in PH on her first day back from the US.She lost her junior brother plus $10,000 in the melee.

Now, imagine people living like that DAILY in Nigeria.
I would be shocked if nobody is planning a serious armed insurrection in Nigeria. Humans can never be accustomed to pain. Humans can't live with pain FOREVER. Sooner or later, they would lash out.

The only thing to prevent that is if Nigeria started to make sense to them. I don't think that is happening any time soon.
We are in the same boat brother.
I certainly wont mind him.

Try been objective for crying out loud! When it suits you say GEJ was part of Yar Adua government, and when your hormonal imbalances kicks in, your resort that GEJ is trying to take credit for Yar Adua project. Where exactly do you stand?

In any case, it's about finishing the job, not who initiated it. If Yar Adua hadn't reversed and frustrated most of Obj power initiatives, who knows where we would have been now power-wise? Multitude of abandoned project litters the nation just because of who-takes-the-credit myopia. Do Nigerians really care about that?

So I see no problem if GEJ takes credit for completing the project. Afterall he could have initiated a probe panel to frustrate it, or simply starve it of fund and started another in Bayelsa just like your beloved Yar Adua did.

Has BH bombed the South? NO! What is your business with what happens in the North? Most of you guys will NEVER learn. You'll be surprised, it will be the same "berom" that will be recruited to decimated your people. BH is not tribal as long as its restricted to their region and thus remains a Nigerian issue. Once it leaves, then you can say otherwise. You can add the ethnic cleansing element.
Secondly, I repeat, if the SE could leave this country, she would have already done so since 1966. No be by mouth! Its been 41 yrs since then, why can she leave and watch how long it will take her to be brought to her knees. Not just the SE but the SS and SW.
