Azikiwe was not truthful in his recollection of archived Nigerian history, which is why you opined Awo started being conservative. The cracks were evident; all the other geozones were advocating self-determination. Nigerian politics has never been like US politics since amalgamation. Stop making this mistake, haven't you learned enough? Zik admittedly should have been fighting for the people he advocated for and not selfishly going on voyages of no return in contesting elections outside his region.

Things Zik/bello/awo saw in 1949, we still see in 2023: he was an ethnic leader fighting ethnic interests through falsified propanganda (like we saw during the election), but he fretted and panicked with a lot of fears of what might be if Northerners succeeded in seceding or if the West were politically united.
Truly, Azikiwe was an idealist. Nigeria will never ever be ready for his far-seeing ideas. I kind of feel bad for the man as his ideas put us in this mess we find ourselves. He wanted Nigeria to be great through his ethnic lens.

Everyone has learned lessons, and some have smartly applied reality to their stakes in Nigeria. Some won't, so they keep pointing fingers of betrayals.
That's your biased opinion. Here are what those not biased have to say:

Yes or no
I already answered the question. If NCNC had nominated a Fulani man detribalised like Zik, he'd have been easily elected governor of East in a landslide. Also, military can appoint anybody and you must allow it wether you likevit or not!

It's funny because what you are telling them is the truth. Give a man money and the next thing us to have 20 girlfriends and if none of them want him, it is 20 prostitutes to lavish his new found wealth on. Or to marry women to spend the money on. Half of their fantasy constitutes having a lot of women. Women to spend on.

It is only here they come to demonize women for wanting money, when all their validation is to give women money as a show of strength.

It is funny because why are you making such posts all over the thread? Lol. It's polite, but what is the activism there?
Now you get it!!
Do you really think most men can make more money than us if not that we codedly want it that way? We instinctively tamp down our own ambition, we sacrifice just so men can be men.. That’s why it is so annoying to us if despite all that we still find ourselves richer than our man!

I will suggest you wind down this manipulative political machinery; it brings you more ethnic stereotypes than goodwill. It is 2023; people are awake, conscious, and more informed of your manipulative politics than ever.
Exactly - it is 2023 and people are much more tribalised, thanks to what Awo started. But back then Nigerian politics was like US. The dominant thing was party affiliation NOT ethnicity. I know it's hard to believe, looking at the climate of today!

All na scope. I once confronted a female friend who was very rich but was tormenting her husband who can barely get by. Most Women worship money. Alot of women troubling their husbands actually have enough money of their own to live comfortably but No they must collect from the husband. Una wan carry the money go heaven??🤣🤣
It is not what you think!! Mostly we're helping you be a man by collecting that money, though we have our own. If we're not there to take it what will you do with it?? If you work hard and finally have some money, if there is no woman to give it to, what good is it to you. We prepare ourselves and make ourselves available to be given the money - something you should really thank us for if you think about it

Well MOST of you are about to wake up to reality.
The world has changed! This is not your parent or grandparent 1970 generation.

No man wants a liability. Men enjoy spending other people's money as much as women enjoy it.
My philosophy is both man and woman should contribute to the home according to their capacity/income.

The generation of "my money is my money while your money is our money" is gone...

As in Otilo... grin grin
Men misunderstand. It is not about material stuff, it is mostly psychological and spiritual. Remember, the issue is why we would rather pray that our husbands be wealthy before praying that we be wealthy ourselves

Can u igbos allow a Fulani man become a governor of anambra?

Please don run away, answer this question
That's the whole point - people like you and Awolowo find it hard to believe there are people who don't think in terms of tribe. Initially Nigerians focused on party, not tribe, until people like Awo introduced tribalism - which is why he is regarded father of tribalism in Nigerian politics - by every tribe!
If NCNC had nominated a Fulani man detribalised like Zik, he'd have been easily elected governor of East in a landslide

Zik at the time did not view himself as primarily Igbo, neither did Nigerians view him as such - except people like Awo!

Raskimonojendor:
Are you insinuating Zik to be a northerner? if not, ibos are also quick to equate Awolowo to Yorubas.
Well, Awolowo was totally Yoruba, as Bello was totally Northerner. I honestly dont think at the time Zik considered himself primarily Igbo, neither did Nigerians view him as such. Let's not forget he spoke all three languages and grew up in the North.

As you can see from below, he was always trying to downplay differences of the tribes

u igbos n your greed

There are 3 regions in Nigeria with every tribe ruling over their region

A northerner is d northern region ruler
A south easterner controls south east
But a south easterner also wants to rule over south west

Does that make sense to u?

There are 3 people n 3 things but one greedy one wants to take 2 out of 3 not minding if one doesn’t have any

Igbos greed introduced tribalism to Nigeria
I don't think it was Igbos per se. I think it was ZIK! I honestly dont think at the time he primarily viewed himself as Ibo.
Also Biden is from the smallest state and a Catholic, which is less than ¼ of US. By your tribalistic mindset he shouldn't be President

Even though this is different from the reason given by Azikiwe himself in his autobiography.

The circle is further proof why Nigeria is in a mess today..Aside fighting Awolowo and Balewa to ensure that a secession was not included in the constitution, so there is now this claim (your circles) again that he joined the North to ensure Nigeria stayed as one. This is disgraceful. The further explains why the Igbos always play second fiddle to the Fulanis.
I think the mistake people make is equating Zik with Igbos. If you, as a Yoruba, grew up in the East and speak Igbo as fluently as any Igbo man, would you have same mindset as a typical Yoruba? Would you want the East to secede? Zik clearly had his own agenda, and had very good reasons for having it!

Learn how to make hair… twisting, braids etc. If you have a daughter use her hair to learn. Watch you tube videos to learn. Hair making is one business that will always fetch you money. You don’t need to learn how to make all styles. You can go to clients houses or they can come to you. Learn styles that doesn’t need you having a salon. Women will always do their hair. With time, you can learn how to do manicure and pedicure or even how to do make up etc. This is one sure income source if you put your mind to it.
