David Foster Wallace graduated with a summa cum laude in 1985
Henry Charles Whitaker graduated with a magna cum laude 2003, etc, etc., etc.

See below, there is simply no direct equivalence between the Nigerian/British and US, and I'm sure your research would have told you as much. They are based on completely different criteria. In US what you'd hear about is what uni someone went to and maybe their GPA. A "summa cum laude" from a 4th rate black uni like CSU which engages in grade inflation is not comparable to a Harvard graduate of any "rank". Even so, I can 100% assure you that Tinubu did not graduate summa cum laude even from CSU.

As for the names you mentioned, use Google and provide for us articles where these people were being discussed and it was routinely mentioned they got "first class" or summa cum laude the way Tinubu is (lyingly) always being mentioned!
