The government possesses the authority to control activities detrimental to its citizens. Betting has had a negative impact on Nigeria, outweighing any benefits. As a developing nation, our focus should be on generating wealth rather than losing it. I hope my perspective is clear to you.
your perspective is not clear or valid, the benefits are very high the source of employment it generate at the moment is high, directly or indirectly, its gives hope to the common man, if you in lagos and see how it has taken criminals off the street you will be shock, enter any bet shop now you will see them. mind you i work in IT department of two major bet firm one as a full time and the other remotely

Then why do some countries ban totally?
jus the same way some countries ban alcohol...at the age of accountability you responsible for your action not the government neither any organization.

Sports betting has become a highly profitable industry in Nigeria, but it's also incredibly harmful. It has ruined countless lives, leaving people penniless and without homes, while tearing apart families and friendships. Despite this, the government remains inactive, possibly due to their own involvement. Immediate action is necessary to ban this business before it wreaks further havoc on the future hopes of the youth and children.
very poor point scored, betting is for 18yrs and above and bet responsibly non of them was forced to register the app and place a bet undecided

I sold all my four cars because at the time , my daughter won the show. I thought that God had finally answered our prayers. I called her on the telephone, and she said God has blessed us. She asked me to do away with all my old cars, or she would give them out to Aboki, any day she returned. So, instead of allowing her to dash out my cars to scavengers, I decided to sell them as scraps and used the proceeds to renovate my house.

Papa, you are old but not wise.

As a man, never you lose your income generating capacity for any reason. Not even for your wife or children.

The father of Mikel Obi is also a transporter, he never left his personal business because his son became a Billionaire.

Ordinary N100M ($100,000) you go lose guard. Money wey fit finish in 1 year if additional money is not coming in.

Guys, never put yourself in a vulnerable position for whatsoever reason.

yoo wan make dem dash out the cars huh but this story no clear especially from a man from that part of nigeria

Offpointng:
We have a family friend who travelled to Canada August. Before she was bout leaving, she wanted to resign from her work (she had a good FG job actually), wanted to sell her Car and landed properties just to spons her travel to Canada. She was advised strongly not to do all of that. Thank God she listened and never sold any of her properties, instead of resigning, she applied for a long leave and settle those she needed to settle and left her Kids behind.

Guess what?? She called after a Month to jist us how overhyped Canada summarily is, seeing lotta Nigerians and other Africans sleeping on the streets. to even get a $10 per hour job gan is very hard. House rent nko? on the high side and the job she managed to get a cleaning job with pay that can only pay her monthly rent with little or nothing left to cover the long monthly expenses. Those she's staying with atm sef don dey give sign pe how far, when you go fit comot?

Anyways, she's coming back to Nigeria December to come and pick up where she stopped. Just Imagine for a moment she sold all her worth bfr relocating??

Allah ba, Abroad can never amuse me no matter how rosy it's painted or how worse Nigeria might seem. I still believe there are possibilities to make it here.
bro nigerians are wired one way once one person try something everyone wanna try it, people still live in the worse countries than ours dont known why the japa thing is all over but i think with time it will pass, during abacha regime i remember things where so bad that ppl couldnt afford kerosine
