Freshprince91: My boss, my intention this week is to beat last week earnings but today is just one of those days, you wish you never put on your App. Did just 2 trips (Ikeja & ikorodu) and since then my App has been staring me in the eyes. Hopefully, tomorrow would be better but the news about that young fella is sending a shiver through my spine. I was about to branch at one Amala joint in my area but local man cannot eat again. May the good Lord continue to spread his protection over everyone of us. Boss go and eat, stuffs happen, we r almost at war front in life, all I can say is prayers! Prayers!! Nothing more... Have u ever tot of tanker victims? That was why I told you not to hold anytin to heart, live freely as u go after ur purpose. Everything in dis life will surely come to an end, our prayer should always b not to b useless before d time is up. |

Freshprince91: I can't hold back tears too brother. Look at what those mobtops did to this fine young man. I think I'll adopt Tunlapapa's strategy from now on, anything beyond 7pm, i'm calling it a day, irrespective of how much I've made. Someone once advised on this thread that we should be careful and reject any trip that would take us to Eko bridge /Bariga /Shomolu /Oshodi/ibeju lekki at night unless you live around that area . May God safe us from us in this country I read d stuff since 3pm and I'm yet to put myself together, I don't even k ow what to think, we all have different approach and how our instinct work in dis business, but its still grace that pulls everyone through. Saying this, it's a normal routine for traffic to b in all road from 5 to 10pm (so, it could b any1), mostly I've learnt to sleep a good sleep inside the car, watch movie once its 7pm or pick my trips, on Friday if you see d way I was rejecting Gbageda trips after work, any road I know dat is bound to b drag or traffic at night I aviod it. One can not b perfect, but let's b on guide as much as we can b. It is well |

Crvrider: In as much as you are in charge of the steering wheel also be in charge of your ac knob. If the car gets too cold for comfort you do not need the permission of any rider to occasionally regulate the temperature of the car by turning the ac on and off.
The other day I was driving home from work, I didn't even put the thing on high, as I stop to buy fuel nobody give me brain as I won freeze die. I just quietly off the ac.
The rider will alight when they get to their destination, but you, you are likely to get another request which means you're in it almost all day.
Enjoyment is eating a good and well prepared meal. Enjoyment no be to blow ac die. I only feel cold at night, I'm kind off use to d a/c temp during the day, I'm good to go once I shift the left side to d windwow. |

peeps4u: We just love abusing things. You will see people obviously feeling cold under AC with turtle neck or suit but still putting the AC high. Isn't it supposed to condition the weather? Must it be to the extent of shivering? Remind me of a lady. Immediately she entered d car, next was for her to reach for the A/c vent, doing al manner of adjustment... Me, I'm just laffing inside, covered some distance and I notice d thing is already hitting d wrong place, but her pride won't let her reduce d A/c, before we get half way to her destination, she's already pullin catarrh back my belle just deh sweet me, we both d*e here today, sha no let d catarrh drop for sit |

They either turn it back to themselves or face it up.
Sometimes in the night we will close all 3, the only one that will be open is the one I hanged my phone on. Lately I've been observing the way they will just push d vent to my face, I'll just crack a smile and face d vent off or reduce d A/c |

Freshprince91: My Oga, i dey try resemble you ni jare. The trips were back to back yesterday with 11k in my Bolt wallet as at 1pm but i couldn't bear the hot sun anymore , i was scared that my car might respond to the harsh weather, so immediately i dropped off two unilag graduates at ojota, i just drove back to Maryland.
Woke up to complete the 8 trips this morning and my first trip was to Agbowa Ikorodu, I haven't been there before, but rider (80+ octogenarian mama) took me through the journey. To get a return trip was futile after 40 minutes ,so i picked passengers on the road back to Maryland and the rest is history.
But something happened yesterday that i was grateful to God for. Took a one way route at university road to Unilag entrance and i was nabbed by the police men under that tree . Didn't know it was a one way and the rider too didn't tell me, after so much bickering, i paid 1k and was told to be careful next time . Another thing that summed up my week is two riders forgetting their wallet and mobile phones in my car . Thank God i haven't stop by the road to pick late night passengers on my way home, may be i would have been begging for money to pay for what i knew nothing about. Nice one one boss... Saving is very important boss, as u will need emergency money for unplanned event and fixing. |

So what i am asking is : is it possible to complete 4 trips in 1hour /30 mins of the 15hours drive time or i shouldn't bother about the time since the offer expires by 8.59pm this night. I need this bonus ,if I get it, it will be my first on the platform. boss u are flexing, u can still do 4 more trips, no wahala as long as its not 9pm yet. Wish I can b like, but d sun ain't just for me 26 trips smh 4 Bolt

So i had meeting with the car owner via whatsapp call,we couldn't reach and agreement for the HP but resorted back to rental. So the Lord blessed me with mad trips, am currently in abeokuta for 2days, will be lodged in a good hotel and will be paid 50k, not bad for a fresh start.

Rubbiish: U can't compare America to Nigeria na The state of roads & responsive car support culture is very important in driving a car. U need to see the clearance of a Lamborghini from the ground, they use is it in America, but u can't use it on our roads, it won't even pass our slow bumps. I understand, I just love d car and it seems parts r cheap. |

Freshprince91: My bro, you've got jokes. Funny enough, the day a trip took me to Abule Ado, I saw the car on Lagos -Badagry expressway, laden with loads navigating through the dreadful Badagry road . Moved closer to the driver and we got talking driving side by side and he told me the car is the strongest brand he's ever used for over 3 years and i was like damn! 'Why do i have to go through hell with mine ' ?
Nairaland no allow you sleep well abi you don enter road again? northbird: Drove on uber yestday, thinking I was going to hit some cool bucks. Mostly short trips. I was still hoping till lyk 7pm. I was @ Admiralty lekki phase 1.
So I set destination to Ikeja.
Ist request: beep from d app :'' rider going towards your destination'
Rider got in . cool dude , headed towards olorogun agbaje v.I
In my mind, i said that's still a good.one dropped him off @ v.i
2nd request, 7.23 pm. beep from app : rider going towards ur destination.
For my mind, I tort dis app is looking out for me o.
Got to rider off sanusi fafunwa. I start trip, I got a shocker of my life , " FESTAC"
Pls wats d correlation BTW festac n Ikeja. The trip started 7.30 pm n ended lik 20mins to 10pm.
The bill #2,287. For over 2hrs of intense traffic.
and the inner roads of festac ? what a place.!
Festac inner roads looks like armored tanks took a vacation on them.
I don't know wat uber is thinking.
I was on quarter tank at V.I. before d trip, wen I got to festac, my tank was lredy on red.
I had to buy 2k fuel before I left festac around past 10pm. Penny wise pound foolish, the money I got was used to fuel again. I got home some mins to 12 midnite.
Lessons learnt: 1. Never trust a machine. The app railroad me to festac. I was confident in its ability to take me to Ikeja.
2. Always ask destination before going to pickup.esp from 7pm.
3. FESTAC has been added to the list of " no go zones ". Even if there is a surge of 45*. I will never go to festac again.
Regards to the Seniors, You've said it all... Always ask for destination, uber knows how to give stupid destination trip. Another reason is riders lie to dia boyfriend when bookin trip for dem, don't know why they do that like the person isn't going to know. It once happened to me at Eko hotel on a destination trip to Ikeja, I ask and she said Ikeja... Only for her to hop into the car and tell me she change her mind to Agungi, she doesn't want the guy to know. Madam! Me too change my mind, I'm not going to Agungi. |
