izzou: Lol. I remember a day I played Tracy Chapman for a rider. The woman was just flowing and said I reminded her of her young days
Funny enough, I was watching Jay-Z videos on YouTube days ago. I like riders that love classics... Biggie, Nate Dogg, Nas, Lauryn Hill, Naughty by nature, and so on
All these Gbese and Ayiiiii dey tire me quick Serious motivation to drive. Last night I was so tired at lekki and have to drive to mainland, got a trip to shomolu and it was a 65mins trip... I gently arrange my India Arie and John Meyer compilation with d mindset that I'm not going to give into rider 97.3/98.5 or I'll tell em straight, I'm using d music to avoid sleeping while driving. Fortunately he got along and we both enjoyed d ride. I think riders should give drivers dat space to b able to play dia choice music once in a while (not always), just as a source of motivation for dem. |

ncnerio: And somehow some people aguement is you have to go anywhere a rider request or leave the platform even though the platform give you the leaway to excise that right withing a certain limit. Tipical Nigeria things. It has to happen first before they act. A pothole has to tumble a tanker ór contena first before it is recognised as a pot hole. One has to blow up a pipeline and make all sorts of threats with AK47 first before the government calls you to the table and offers peanuts of the national cake cos doing it peacefully labels you a terrorist and lands you in jail. The young man just lost his life while hussling and all the so called partners has is a phone number... But what do I know? The young man obviously dint press the SOS botton cos if he was given the chance to the police would have been there withing 5minute. All he has to do was wait or maybe stall the guys for 5minute. Like someone said 15 years old car for a Life and some people feel once you you are on the platform you have know right whatsoever to refuse any trip. I leave around badagry and 5am at festac where I log on and got a request almost immediately. Rider called and said he was heading to badagry where I was driving from. Withing me I said not on Uber platform even though that where I reside for the now. Politely told rider I cant and am very sure am not the first person to have told him that. Going to badagry that morning means I am definitely blowing back empty for sure till I get back to festac cos Uber coverage area starts from tradefair under bridge. A driver has so much details with the our so called partners and all they have about the rider is just a phone number that might even be stolen. God help us in this country cos at the end that what we always say. All drivers be guided... You don't like the rider contenance or destination decline. The gateman opens the gate and you are ask to drive in... Decide if you want to or not. At the end of the day it all bout you. Most of this our partners rules and regulations are meant for sane eviroments even at that they still encounter issues. This guys are here to make money and will exploit every loophole given to them. Use your brain wisely. We don't want to loose anyone on this huslling again please. Decline if you must. Nice one boss, today have been somehow for me (Tyre deflated when descending eko bridge), so down to quote, but dis ur message woke me. On sat I got a request; Me: Good day ma, I got a request from you blah blah blah Rider: Yes, use the app to locate me Me: OK ma, where r u going? She cut the on me, I just gently end the trip after 3 mins with no fuss. She called back, I ask who's dis and cut d phone before she respond. The thing really get to her, dat she kept calling to air her mind, I just place her on busy... I hope she find solace in d msg she sent, cos d msg only crack me up. I've been thinking of the best way to approach this business dis season, not just ready to massage any1 ego.

adsmaster: Integrity! Yeah I understand where you coming from and I think these same message should be passed across to them too. You do a review it takes time to reflect, what do you do? Do you pin the rider down or ask the rider to wait till the review comes out..
I did a review once after I ended a trip and it shows 700 naira, review didn't reflect till the next day and the rider has gone. The rider only paid what she saw but after the review came taxify took there 20% on the reviewed price after I told them rider paid 700 niara.
All they said was they have sent message to the rider to pay the balance that if rider didn't pay they will compensate me. Up till these moment rider hasn't paid taxify didn't compensate me.
Since they have decided to allow us settle our issues that's what we are doing my friend. So you see they don't keep there words hence they too don't have integrity The things wake me when I read it. Lemmi b watching from afar. |

I remember when I said I don't use phone holders. Some said it was pride, but I had a feeling then that uber work go soon turn goldmine
As you get familiar with routes, don't hang phones. When you start a trip, scroll through the map to know the suggested route, and keep your phone. If anyone stops you, tell them that you aren't an uber driver. Simple.

Phori: Hello guys.. Pls watz d issue with v.i.o harassing uber drivers for LASDRI and Hackney permit... Do i need such document to drive in lagos? I was at dia office to renew papers on Wednesday, one of dem ask me, if the papers r for uber? I just look at her, smile and said no. Bolt/Uber generate income like any other commercial vehicle, so they are supposed to use the red plate number which is meant for commercial purpose that uses the LASDRI & Hackney permit. When next you sight them, put your phone out of reach any other questions outside your papers r irrelevant and you should treat it as such, irrespective of riders sitting position. |

@Izzuo and Niti, let me assume you've try to squash the matter, tough you are still shaking your head. have u try to figure out how Godwin Okeke, Cosmos Maduka & other transporters stated dia journey? We keep saying means to end! Means to end!! Yes I agree to some point, but focus and discipline is d key here, a footballer that lack discipline will end up begging for food as Udeze, Taribo & co what happened to them and how they are fairing or is football not a suitable career again? We need to get off dis bench, uber, bolt can fold, but transportation will remain forever till d body can't function driving for long again. If you feel like improving as a soul, just do that at bay and let other people live... We all cant b a writer, not even all scammers suicide scamming, for every wizkid wanna be, dia are thousand wasting in oblivion today. I've grown pass riders or anyone trying to put the job down, I hear d complain of people every other day, I see how people struggle to get by, check the guy in traffic with heavy load on his head forcing himself on motorist to buy his goods and a driver may go home with 5/10k net profit in a day... All I see here is someone not appricating what put food on his table and it is an unhealthy way to live life from the end view while neglecting the flow of journey.
NB: I hope u know d numbers of cooperate buddy that r selling dia valuable and relocate dia family oversea. That may b d end point for most ppl here wit d way dis country is going. |

ndubuis: Heard the advert today on radio. Opay is bad News for all. They are coming to take a huge chunk of the market shares, brand new cars, cheaper fares. Guys, brace yourself up for a tougher 2020. I know eventually Opay Cars will fall by the way side as greed and business do not mix.
For me, It's becoming clearer that this ehailing thing is never a place to invest ones whole life and money on. You gotta learn how to diversify in order not to be met with surprises. Opay is here to further mess things up. Yea! I told Tojahh dat today, everybody need to brace up, but believe me this thing won't last for long, if dia bus can't shift danfo than nothing will happen. Branding a car for such business, makes it commercial, area boys will frustrate them, local government touts will stop them for branding permit, VIO for commercial permit, all this on 200. Let's just fold hands and see how these things turn out. |
