MoonlightDrive: NEVER EVER LISTEN TO THE RADIO Please let me clarify do not listen to traffic report on the radio while carrying your passenger! Play instead some soft calypso or just tune in to sound city fm. Some days ago i had agreed to be back at home by 6:00pm., so when i got a request taking me to Adeola odeku, i was cool with that but as soon as i dropped off my rider, around 3:00p.m i just set destination to Ikeja.. and then the praying and confessing start you know this business is not as it used to be... Then i got a trip request going towards my destination, i picked her up and i realized she was going within 1km radius of my crib.. This is just fantastic so i thought. I left the radio on and there was a traffic report on 98.10 Nigeria info, traffic was actually pretty bad on the island, it was bumper to bumper, by the time we got to Awolowo road our wonderful OAP, Hauwa AND Mazino on the Smooth Drive show where doing their thing.. Mazino just kept on yapping, "i have never seen such bloodied sign, this traffic was even worse than yesterday, bla, bla, bla, everywhere is on locked down even on the mainland", they had convinced my rider to change her final destination, she now said the traffic report is just too bad even on the mainland and she would like to stop at Surulere... had to put a plastic smile on my face for some seconds, and told her no problem. I had to drop her off at surulere and after waiting like 30 minutes with no request towards my destination, had to drive into the traffic , got home pretty late. Never listen to traffic report when carrying a rider, it gets the rider agitated and they may likely change their mind about their final destination, and sometimes the traffic report may not even be a reflection of the true situation on ground, when in traffic just play some soothing R & B songs... Rider that will jump byke, will still jump byke inside traffic that's when u will here do you have gokada? The one that piss me off the most r riders that will b seeing where they are going like this inside bad traffic, but they will refuse to walk, probably one can turn and use an exit. But such is life, I was so down yesterday on my last destination trip to ketu from akoka, inside light traffic Taxify estimated 1100 for 8.4km (I use the google map at some point), everything happened so fast that I have to exhaust my last energy inside redeem traffic. |

They know drivers always decline trips going towards that side so they will just say ajah side. But me I know their tricks so they hardly get me Ogombo was where rider took me to ard 1am and then, they just stabbed a driver I meet on his neck on that road, as narrow and bad the road was, I had to do bwt 80 & 100. I was just rephrasing a song on my mind "Anything on my way, is gone" |

Please are there unsafe pickup points.. If yes Wat are they.... I'm seriously thinking of going into this biz. Thanks Safety wasn't the reason for not taking the trip, the rider may request I end the trip on getting to his destination and there is nothing I can do about that. Are there unsafe pickup points? Yes! Where? Follow ur instinct and discretion. My early days and d most scaring trip I ever took was ard 1am, I don't ever know my way, I was just depending on her direction from beach till we got to A Adesanya, she ask me to take d first exit and head straight down.... I was just seeing bushes on both side like I'm using ore - Benin road, picking her from the beach, compound me fear and she asking me not to worry but to reduce my speed made it worst. So, when you see 2 or 3 men, from 8pm requestioning from a bus stop, let your spirit lead you, no body really knows, its just grace. |

chucsmoore: not a trap bro. I ve done trips like that many times Not in negative sense boss, just felt it may not b a return trip... That was how I picked a guy from Ikeja to his aladura/fetish doctor house, initially the trip was heading somewhere else, until he had a change of mind and ask if I can go to ajah and bring him back to Ikeja ard 3pm. , that can of trip that will make one to smile , we got pass Ajah, sangotedo heading towards eleko. I asked him, hope he's not going to stay long, he replied, just 5 mins most. We got there, he went in and came back, requesting I should end the trip, he's going to stay up to 30 mins, I said no problem, I'll end the trip and park well, time is not a problem for me atall. Maybe we can do an offline as return... 2 mins later, he came back and request to pay me off he may spend an hour or more, I was just looking straight like that. But such is life, got a trip back to palms from dia anyway. |

julietromeo: That's not true. In as much as I won't like to dispute anything, I can only share my experience. I use S5 and when I started out, my heart beat anytime I'm on taxify trip, I realise it was because I always start the google map, so I stop starting it, but use the direction trace only and it work for me (Tried it over & over nd I was right about it). The few failed trip I got lately was somewhat my fault, I saw MTN advert of 2000 for 2.5g and 2500 naira talk time, that was how I let go of etisalat for MTN, the 2500 self I don't know if it is 500 naira per mins (it's just callingonniown), Network! Is like one IT student is using it to do practical, I'll on trip nd I won't see the network again, within me I'll just resign to fate, whatever the outcome. |

darmilolah: To all the newbies...
Get a good smart phone. If it's Android. The Android version should Not, I repeat should Not be less than 6.0.
Use 9MOBILE for data and maybe other network for backup in other areas that data is weak.
So why 9mobile? All other mobile network timeout too often. But 9mobile is more stable.
Why not smile or spectanet? They don't have wide coverage like 9mobile. You can be on trip an might have left the smile or spectanet coverage zone and you won't know. The end will be failed trip.
Don't use your main line to do data. Get a new line for your data. Put your main line in a small phone or another. This is because data will cut off when you are receiving call(s) and your trip will fail.
For Taxify. Once you are ou of data network for around 2-4mins. The app will shut down.
Let me stop here More light to this, try not to use Google map on taxify app, it always result to fail trip |

pooozeee: I also made this choice, millions of people travelled before the election was postponed and they have not come back yet Somewhat I agree with you, but I feel people are yet to recover from the expenses/bills they have to pay in January... House rent, school fee's, some religious body even take first fruit of the year, election wahala all this put together make things come slow. |
