Some girls r just born stupid, when u see a rider with 4.3 rating, u don't need anyone to tell u deh lack manners. I'm at MBA when dis request came in, she called and ask me to drive down to cash and carry with my boot open... I asked madam what r u putting in my boot and where are u taking it to? She pulsed for awhile said fridge, but won't disclose where she is going too. Me that like sleep I jejely active my sleep mood back. The next call I got from her was on a high pitch note "Where r u, I'm waiting outside". Me b like, ma! I don't know where u r going, I don't even know the litre of the fridge, if I park at the road while picking u and dose tow guys jump down, what will u do? Oga cancel the ride with harsh tones... To d once after me, don't let any rider bully you, las las u won't sit and watch her fix fridge in and out of your boot, if the trip is 1k, that's probably what u may get, to them, they r doin u a favour. |

Got to Anthony and I request came in from oshodi going to Ikola. The trip was 2k and rider forgot his phone. Had to meet up with him halfway to give back phone and was tipped 1k again. All things works for good my brother. This is strictly a taxi business. Don't expect much, when request comes just take it, and if it doesn't just go home and rest. All days are not the same. franksam2009: people fighting for union are either silly or definitely are not the owners of their cars,, imagine after spending ur hard earned millions to purchase a car, some idiots will now want to tell you wen to work and when not to, for their own selfish reasons .. Second thing is tolls, unions in Lagos seems they can't survive without collecting tolls, how LL u feel when agbero start collecting tolls from every ehailing driver all in d name of union and security?
I was at frsc office yesterday waiting to collect some stuff nd I was having a gist with a woman der, nd she was like since I'm into ehailing dat I should plz get her some trusted drivers 4 her and a college and I'll have to stand 4 Dem nd run all procedures 4 Dem, I just laughed nd stylishly declined. People are buying cars like pure water all in d name of ehailing. Anywhere I go people ll be like bro I want buy car for Uber, wetin be d procedure.
My point is hundreds of cars join Uber on a daily basis, where as the riders are not increasing, Uber/taxify ll hv no choice but to reduce the fares in order to woo more riders in.. If ehailing is not paying as you wanted plz drop ur rental car and look for other business to do Biko Lol, the last time I checked, you are yet to complete a trip, if you felt you know better than peeps that has completed 700, 1k, 2k trips I wish you well... I remember when Gazzuz used to post how he close and quickly use his sharp Avansis to make some good reasonable quick cash wrt time input... If he tries it now? KakiP: Finally if you look at it well, it is not worth stressing oneself and ones car to get involved in this Uber/Bolt thing. I fully support a boycott or any measure to make sure drivers are protected.
I always look at other drivers too when I’m driving and mere looking at their faces you can tell that they are hanging on to do this because they need to put food on their table not because it’s profitable. It is not meant to be so.
Yesterday I witnessed a driver dose off at the traffic light at Bar Beach. I have also had conversation with other drivers trying to know how much they’ve made for the day, as at 2pm of the day, 3 trips at most totaling about 2,400 “na like this we go dey dey”?
Like someone said earlier the drivers are enslaved and they may not realize this because of the kind of hunger in the land.
Don’t forget this that as drivers we still have the power to change the game but it will need a little sacrifice and commitment. Sorry I am going to spill some tins here, it can happen and it is very possible to make 2400 only by 2pm, because cars are much on the platform, positioning matters, I can't b at a vintage position in a more populated area and a request of 700 to less populated area comes in, sir! I'm cancelling the trip sharply, I prefer at least 1k plus head trip for a start and mostly meet up with morning workers heading to island, there is no way you will b on awolowo road and things won't work to near good. Some drivers find comfort in that let's park and be chatting till request come in. |

gobuchinny: Very true bro...very true...every business wants to maximize profit...so it favours them to reduce price...I only wish drivers could come together and force their hands...without the driver there will be no uber or taxify...all is well. Strike is one of the easiest thing, some riders do understand, but its just some has been spoilt, so they might b at d other side of the fence.... Why is business on boom from Dec 20th? less drivers, more riders, so either saboteurs or not if 60 percent of the drivers can go on a week strike, they will b an emergency meeting on both platform... These things r not rocket science, in every business there is always a room for negotiation and not the no one send you, sell your car if you can't hustle, what this people take from drivers r precious time that can never be gotten back, is not as if they are building your CV as 5 years experienced uber driver or you have a pension to claim somewhere, whatever you make out of this struggle is all you are, so make the best of it. Shout out to drivers on rental, you guys are the MVP. |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by pope191: 12:45pm On Mar 14, 2019 |
gobuchinny: True bro, the pay is not realistic and ridiculous...it's below par esp considering the facts as stated above...I experienced all these when I was driving..there have been times while driving I felt silly..u can imagine driving longer distance to pick rider only to drive short distance to drop off ..esp island..the ones that just wanna go buy food two streets away or use the atm or wanna go c their friends in the next street ...even me as a rider I no get mind request uber for silly short trips...and if I ever do I make sure I pay the driver 1k for that useless 350 or less than 500 naira trip...ALWAYS..
There was a time i carried a rider, a long distance trip I can't recall the exact pick up and drop off but u know those trips u r on and you just dey smile like mehn I don hammer, i go close after this trip..when I ended the trip and saw the fare my jaw dropped...d rider even noticed my surprise and I saw how she smiled...she didn't add anything instead wanted her change...when she left tears welled up in my eyes..I just weak...I couldn't even drive again I just closed and blew empty to my house depressed and defeated vowing never to driver again...next morning I was out again driving
But as hard as it was and as ridiculous the fare I never took it out on my poor riders nor insulted uber yes i complained esp to my wife and friends but not trying to run down their business...I knew it was slavery. ..that the real winners were the e hailing companes and riders..the drivers were just scrapping....but that's their business model and didn't force anyone to accept it or drive..so if I must drive then I get with the programme... yes these guys are task master and I can only blame the drivers because noone is acting..the few guys that tried to act by striking the support base was poor...try and read up about uber strike in other countries..that's the PVC of the drivers..the only power they have..,hence the importance of that union which many guys here castigated...
For me, my mind set was just keep driving and feeding my family, work hard and yes this driving business is hard work...your back will pain you...you hands will become heavy even for any veteran but at least it puts food on the table. ..uber should never be a permanent hustle, that's y stories like those of nitigriti inspires me and should inspire any driver also...
See its the same attitude we carry into our own grind or other job opportunities...things will never be perfect or our tables served...in everything let's just be grateful
I'm not against lamenting as this is a driver forum..its OK to vent but not the way some guys go about it here like it's a totally hopeless situation...there is hope
Much respeck bro I think the I'll never drive again happens a lot, most time I tell myself I need 2 weeks break, but the next day I'm on the road. A lady at eko hotel tell me get out yesterday, because I was on a destination trip from ajah after dropping a rider at palace rd, I got a trip from Eko hotel (still on destination trip), she mention a place towards my destination on the phone, only to get into d car and told me she's going to Lekki, but just lied because of the guy that will pay for her trip, made it clear to her, I can't embark on d trip. |

gobuchinny: You cant do 20 trips in a day bro..i never did and im yet to c anyone that did..
All im saying is if e hailing is all you have make good use of it and not complain..work hard and if the hustle aint for you QUIT.
i know so many hard working drivers that are looking for cars to drive on the platform so if you have one just drive and if it aint working sell it or give it out
Truth is ive always been an advocate of strike but alotta guys dont buy into that..i c the way it worked in other emerging economies where uber operates..
im outta the system so what do i know I'm not the type dat reason one way, I play around with thoughts till situation gives the perfect view, taxify or uber are not wicked, they have a data base they work on, so once supply is more than demand they reduce price, at the end who bears the burnt? For them, more cars more money as long as demand is reasonable enough (for every drivers cry of no trip, another drivers r sharing the few once and they commission is still at moderation). So reduction favours them as long as they don't reduce their %, can't u see uber is fast taking the space of byke wit 350 trips, where rider we tell u she's going to Akerele from Adeniran Ogunsanya (I was like, seriously? ) Either metaphor or not, the chances of reducing the price is high, right now they r drivers parked somewhere checking dia app often, staring @ 4 trips 2700 since morning, dis can make one appreciate danfo drivers/ keke rider more... There is really nothing uber/taxify can do, cos if with this price, ppl still can't afford the service satisfactory, little traffic, rider starts feeling unease, the worst scenario if things don't pick up in the next four months, they will b decline in driver - partner business, as owners will b force to drive or join the fence gang. |

I thought of the possibilities of that, but I honestly don't know what is wrong with Taxify Ng, like they just do thinks without thinking of the Nigeria factors, everything was going fine until they introduce lite and Taxify, as if that wasn't enough they are trying to introduce XL. There is a need to look into issues that are not adding up, today I am in front of St Finbar and I am getting trips from 8, 9 mins away.... brogxy: THE EFFECTS OF E-HAILING ON DRIVERS IS REALLY DEMEANING. I can remember an incidence with a rider that negotiated a trip with the yellow cabs but stood their ground on N7k but TAXIFY THE MOST EXPENSIVE TARIFF charged N3,200. The trip is about 32km, now imagine how much could have been charged for a 120km return trip. Low demand of yellow cabs didn't make them charge ridiculously, I guess they are professionals in the business and know the normal charge for certain trips. Charging for certain trips should not be for you to get PEANUT to eat but to sustain your tools incase of uncertainties. That person calling drivers lazy because they didn't do your cheap trip should have gone to the charter cabs and see how much would be charged. I don't blame you but E-hailing slavery mentality.
