Are we still talking about Magodo Brooks or we are now generalizing to all streets with gate that leads to another main road? Let's remain within the armbits of this subject so we don't get distracted, make a mountain out of a molehill and miss d point. Magodo Brooks is definitely a private estate. Just like VGC and other enclosed, reclaimed lands that leads no where and where previously valleys, swamps, forests, etc.

U see, d problem is we don't understand the rule of law anymore because actions of our leaders and politicians has bastardized our thinking, our mentality and our personalities and we don't want to know our rights by learning.

Police commissioner does not have right to anywhere even on official duty without permission by the court. (Except for national security and terrorism). So ur thinking that because he is commissioner of Police he has right of access anywhere he goes is skewed.

In this case he wasn't on official duty, he
came for a social visit, he wasn't refused access, he was just to wait for access. It's d delay that made him angry and for him to show he has power. Nothing more, nothing less.
I stand to be corrected on this. The houses in the estate are private properties for sure, are the roads that lead to the houses private road? I mean Magodo brooks

You said he was on social visit, when the spokesman for the C.P said he was on assignment. You see where wisdom needs to be apply? Truth and fact are not the same, I've seen more than someone trying to tell me my right or what's in the constitution.

Nigerians test negative here, get to other countries within hours and got load down for a week to 2 because they said they test positive. No one is doing sh*t about that, if it's power play or their fundamental human right is been violated, boss they just have to apply wisdom.

The Caliber that can invite a Commissioner of Police to his party and he will honor the invitation.

But my point is, everybody should be subjected to same protocols. It's only in Nigeria that politicians and government officials will jump queues, expect preferential treatment, etc when indeed they are servants placed in leadership positions, and as leaders should show good example. That "I be big man" mentality is what I hate...whoever you are, u can do your kingship inside your kingdom. As far as a anywhere is concerned, lawful rules has to be followed by all except the king. The only kings in Lagos are d Governor and the President. It is this law-bending that has corrupted our society to a state of decadence. See us here now defending the commissioner against poor innocent guys doing their jobs.
They were doing their jobs for Christ sake...what if the police were there to arrest someone illegally without warrant like they always do?
What if they were gatecrashing a party without invite?
They had to get clearance. If that took too long that's probably not on them and definitely not a reason to be thrown inside cell.
Let's have some dignity and respect for other humans especially those we perceive not to be in our level. This is not a case of disrespect for elders.
Boss every body can be subjected as one only when they are not on duty.

I don't mean to derail the thread.

What caliber, If I may ask? When the chips r down, and the real criminals come knocking, it's still the same police the so called "high caliber" will call.
And not the 30k /month rent a cop they mounted at the gate.

You want to know the truth. The security guards disregarded the office of the CP. They are security men, they are in the know. how long will it take you to clear a high profile officer like the CP.?

See, the issue is not about them doing their job, the real issue is the security guards not giving a care in the world who they kept waiting, they displayed this I don't care attitude,. Haba.. , "Taba ranni nise eru, a nfi tomo je." , it means, if you are being sent the job of a slave, you can as well deliver it in a most dignified manner"

The insignia of the office of the CP was in full display. Not covered. You wouldn't understand if you were not born n bred in the southwest.
You've said it all, they didnt disrespect Odumosu, what they did was disrespectin the office. I.T.K plenty for all these security men, all they need to know is to truly identify his person and let him go. So if it's Sanwo the son of Olu that is how they will stop him in the name of doing their duty. Well! The estate has not lay claim on stopping the C.P, they were only giving him directions. Fear won't let them stop the C.P on a public road.

Abuse of power and office. What is their offence that he arrested them. Okay if they go to court, what will be their charge?? Africa!!!
Boss I know your type... the type that burst a grape in fruit fight. You think all estate is private properties and the C.P have no right to it, even for security reasons. Now I see why almost every street in Lagos is estate, just b able to afford gate. Take a good look at Lekki phase 1 very well, all those shut mini gates and you have to go turn and turn, u think they r private properties/road? I smile

The C.P is a very stupid man, sense is far from him. In line with what the estate management said, even if they have to wait for feedback from the security men. They didn't stop him, they were only trying to give him directions and voom as per the first estate the C.P is entring since he resumed office, he decide to test power.

I dont know where you read that they didn't give him access . He was just power drunk and on arrest rampage.

Aswear I almost killed one yesterday with my car... But thank god I've power over the devil in me... Got a juicy trip after dropping off a rider at that estate with a surge of 2.5x on 2%Uber commission yesterday and the rider was just a stone throw at Jubillee Estate and this stupid security guy refuse to remove the plastic barricade for me to pass instead asked me to pass through Berger and turn back at Otedola bridge... I just looked at him and wanted to run him over with my car but I just calm myself down.

The annoying aspect again, a woman was walking into thw street oh... The street don't even have a gate yet just open like that and this guy asked her to go pass through the main gain which is off shagisha road... The woman told him to come stop her na na so this idiot was running after this woman ooh... I just looked at him an assume village people no be me go kill you na so i take go.

Rubbish security they think they're doing over there.

Sorry about this bro. It happened to me too.
A lot of riders don't know how to use the App. Immediately they type name of their street, they just click it, not knowing that karimu str can be in Surulere and still be in ojodu.

Before the bad incident that happened, I also had another experience with another lady....but I saved the day. Picked her from Magodo and she was going to ogudu but the App showed Surulere. I got to ketu and told her if I should take the express to Surulere or enter streets due to traffic on Ikorodu road. She asked what I was going to Surulere to do, I said that's the destination she inputted. She denied it. I collected her phone and corrected it and it changed on my App. Then I clicked on Google. Entered the right flank of the road. She thanked me and showed me the 5 star she gave me, after the trip.

The bad incident I talked about. The lady refused to pay me and she refused me from changing destination on her phone and taking her to her right destination. She refused to pay. Reported to bolt and they said they will compensate me after 5 days. It's 5 days already. Reminded them and they sent me the message below:
Fate should just not align one with bad rider, they can so frustrate driver. Instead of them to b calm and admit they don't know where they are going, they will be using use the map to cover face. The day use the map will land both driver in Ijebu is coming.

Pope191 come finish your story now!

But menh!!! That was a difficult situation there bro... If I was the one I wouldn't have wasted time at all I for don create a scene before she start doing any wahala. The girl is a cheat and I'm sure it's not her first time doing that.

This is why I always make friends with both good guys and the very bad once everywhere I go.

Like in mushin now, I've two joints in mushin with at least 2 or 3 people's contacts each time I'm gallant and around I go there buy a carton of action bitter and Chelsea with SK...

Ketu i get guys there, Ajah/lekki I&II I get joint and contacts

Suru/Aguda, Iyana ipaja that one na steady... Those hoodlums know me very well...

Police contact dey, DAIG, Area commandant (area F), Commissioner, LASMA, TASKFORCE, VIO chairman's wife, Lagos State I have her contact...

Though I try to be very civil and law abiding in my dealings because that's what the Commissioner asked me and warn me never to ring his private line if I did anything wrong but if I'm not just a phone call or his presence is enough... He has done it once for me before so I know.

Every trouble has it's own solution weather na hoodlums or lawyer we ready.

Also, my last name has helped me many times without even making any phone call just my ID alone settles it but most times money dey go down.

So every business person must have a competitive advantage to stay afloat o.

To survive in this country you need to know people

But las las na God win am shall.

I ran into a trouble with a DAIG on Thursday at Intercontinental Hotel, ikoyi that the man slapped me 3 times... I wanted to retaliate b4 oh but his grey hair was his saving grace... The man was in a black suit... I insulted him tire... He asked his boys to take me to barbeach police station... We got there I didn't spend up to 5min and i was released... las las na contact end am.
Lol, I no sabi find trouble oo

If all drivers take their time to read this, I'm sure they would not be going to every where bolt sends them in the name of looking for 1m or what have you. To before warned...
Took out time to read it and I'll have to be a bit insensitive on this. I won't hold e hailing companies responsible for this outside them making their service better by having more info about riders, but we all know where we live, folks will work over night to beat the system, another company with less info will come up at a cheap price and it's the same drivers that will run to such app at a flash of no commission and bonus.

Check Indriver for instance, it's just the driver and the rider. On Thursday, I went physical on a rider for the first time. Got a trip from omole to Olateju ard mushin for 2500 on Indriver. On getting to Kayode street around Onipanu, she asked where am I going? Got confused and replied, to your destination off course. There she goes, no! She's going to Isolo, Jakande area. Hmmm! I pull over and try to understand her better, show her the app and tell her to check what she input as destination. All fell to deaf ear, she put the blame on us in quote and why he never liked the app after doing 108 trips. I try to explain to her, I don't work for Indriver, we r both using their services, she as a rider and me as a driver, story. What can we do? I ask her to be reasonable as I am willing to be as well, nonetheless I don't like going to Isolo, but I'm left with no option here. She said she can't add more than 500 naira to the trip and I gently ask her to drop her off, so she can book another ride. This girl refused, showed her my gas level and why I can't accept 500, cos I just can't shortchanged myself for nothing, and she did the worst by saying that's not her business. I off the ignition and we both went head sprung, inside the car for like 20 mins pressing our phones, she start making calls about her last night parole and her commission from other girls. She crossed the line the moment she put her leg on the dashboard. Babe remove you leg, she refused with the excuse of not being comfortable with her sitting position. Madam you are not the one cleaning my car, remove ur leg from my dashboard as I won't take that lightly with you, but she refused. Took her leg off it, she return it, took it off it again cheesy she put her on it again, I hit the leg off the dashboard and the ruse ignite. Blah! Blah!! Nah driver work u go do d*e, una dey always jealous us cos of the money we deh make grin gosh! I ask, why I go jealous olosho? Nah u sabi, I even get hair shop. Then I knew this is going deep, told her I have to drive to the next police station and she replied make we dey go, make we see who get money to bribe police pass. As I start the car and about to move, I took my phone and put it on record. Next, she try to go on live instagram, grabbed her phone from her and ask if it's her father she went to trend with by taking me to social media this morning. Then she start screaming Ole! Ole!! Ole!!! Uber driver want to kill her... people gathered grin subscribe for the episode

Back to drivers: night ride is free and sweat, but avoid it as much as possible, be grateful for the little you can make and stop this rat race of 1 million, it has lead many people to their doom. No one is immune to attack, but we too should not expose ourselves like our body is made of steel. Crazy how we start off work by 6am and still on the road by 9pm, doing what precisely? Even danfo drivers has call it a day. Brother's use your head, no one really cares about you in this game, let your conscience and your God be your guide (I've said this over and over again).
