okomogo:They have to find a 'juicy' story that is 'mind bugling' to distract people from the current fuel crisis. |
Charge Dasuki to court to defend himself. He was once arrested for being in possession of huge 'catche' of arms. |
doctokwus:Did that reported explosion sound like anyone is on the run now? |
seunmsg:Except you are operating from one remote farm settlement (maybe Ikire oko), it's 'plain mischief' for you to claim that this 5 month old administration's lack of direction is not responsible for the acute downturn in the economy. When capital market is down, they tell us 'oh, we don't really need portfolio investment' When manufacturers make huge loses and downsize their workforce due to lack of access to needed foreign exchange for their raw materials and equipment, they say 'oh, those people are aiding looting of 'treasury' When the financial institutions layoff thousands, we hear from our roadside analysts how the bankers have been aiding corruption. The telecoms sector is next now to downsize their staff due to unfavorable business environment, and we are already hearing 'dogo turechi'. |
jomoh: Is Thailand a developed country? Is it part of the conspiracy to waste 6 months before forming an 'ordinary cabinet'? Is it also part of that conspiracy not to send an ordinary director to WTO to 'justify' the 'policy'? It was not a 'conspiracy' when American government was disgracing Nigeria all over the world, blocking the military's access to the needed weapons to combat terrorists? It's a week since the so-called cabinet has been reluctantly inaugurated, have they approached the WTO to explain? Why have they not done so? |
Any word from Prof. Tam David-West yet? |
newnigerian:Albert Einstein, can you also enlighten us more on the 8.6b naira which the CBN said was deducted from the federation account without appropriation by the national assembly? That's what 'dullard' Fayose wants to know. |
ziccoit:Can you share any link? |
theshield:That's not an excuse my friend. PDP/Fayose are currently in the opposition. They are watching every move of the present government and are within their constitutional rights to ask questions. From all indications, it is Buhari and APC who either didn't understand TSA or are trying to be fraudulent as alleged by Fayose. Because if they have the grasp of the system or they are not being fraudulent, the APC we know would have gone to town with intense propaganda of how they have saved 'trillions' that would have been 'lost' to consultants through 'inflated' consultancy charges. And the worshipers would have been chanting 'sai baba' unend. |
jomoh:But is that not what he said? Did you bother to read the content beyond the headline? He said the percentage is questionable. He said it could be negotiated downward. He said there's no basis for justification of paying 25b naira to few people. He said Ekiti won't participate until those issues are addressed. Are you saying these are not solid issues to be sorted? BTW the same lawmakers you are running to are the same people probing the TSA implementation under Buhari. And why did the company deduct Nigeria's money just like that? Are they not supposed to be paid by government, through legal appropriation? If they can deduct Nigeria's money without recourse to any due process, can't we conclude that the system is fraudulent? TSA was designed to block leakages in the system, how comes a 'super-mega' leakage is being introduced? |
Ndolarr:How is it unfounded? Why did they ask for refund of already deducted money? Why did the company make the refund? |
theshield:He spoke about the commission being charged, do you think 1% is fair? |
arsetalks:You don't think this allegations have any merit? Why then did they ask them to make refund as reported? |
olatunji21:Are you saying that you agree with 1% going to few stakeholders while 140+m people take 99%? You mean you don't see anything wrong with that? You seem not to be bothered about the commission paid so long as it doesn't touch the lawmakers' palms. |
MyMouth:Why are you people always anchoring your judgment on feelings? The lady is certainly going to learn on the job, having no requisite experience for the office. While this may not be bad on its own, experimenting with the country's economy at this time is very dangerous. They can appoint someone with better experience to put her through while the country stabilizes, and then she can take charge at one point or another. Let's not always be using 'feelings' without rational basis. Can't see where 'feelings' on Buhari is leading the country? Yet, there's no rational explanation on the direction of the country now other than more 'feelings' - that things 'might' get better. This is certainly not risk taking, it's gambling. Risk taking involves some elements of quantitative and qualitative assessments, gambling is based on feelings/luck/probability. Nations' economies are not run on feelings. |
$49b $12b $10b $18.5b $20b $6b 6 different figures 1 'missing money' 1 CBN governor (former) 1 Nigeria |
Who is verifying this proof? Was this proof acknowledged at that conference? He presented a paper at a Vienna conference, how does that translate to a proof? Can we see the book of conference proceedings acknowledging this proof? Who is presenting the $1m award to Dr. Opeyemi Enoch? Many questions. |
Six month honeymoon is over. Buhari is evidently overwhelmed by the tasks. He doesn't appear to know his left from his right. Can a NEPA bill holder do more than his capacity? Very doubtful. |
samobo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xumgKOggxdU How does this prove anything? |
Investigation revealed that ex-Governor Ayo Fayose is spearheading the zoning of the office to the South-West.Is Fayose an ex-governor? |
According to him, the Federal Government in collaboration with what he described as stakeholdersIs he not part of the federal government? |
No one offered any explanation like this on the subsidy issue. All we heard was that subsidy on petrol was a scam. But they have continued the payment after taking over nevertheless. |
ademikefaith:Was N8.6b deducted from TSA during that tenure? |
Ballmer:lol... Okonjo-Iweala was already a VP in the World Bank Group before she joined Obasanjo's government. You are not saying that is proportionate to Ogun State commissioner for finance, are you? BTW Emefiele was the MD of Zenith Bank before his appointment, are you happy with the monetary policies now? |
banki:banki, there are more than 100 other better qualified youths to choose from, that is if our problem is youth based. By saying there are people on the background to direct her, you are already admitting her deficiency. Taking orders from any 'cabal' will put Nigeria in serious mess. There's nothing wrong if she understudies someone for now. She has started work already. It's 3 days now since she was sworn-in and no TANGIBLE statement from her on even the least issue in the economy. |
Ballmer:It's about the constitutionality of the account. They started the agitation from Obasanjo time with Bukola Saraki as the arrowhead. They started sharing during Yaradua's administration. You are overrating Buhari, no single Nigerian president can withstand the governors when they are united. Ibori and Kalu plotted to remove Obasanjo and install Atiku until he begged them. |
This finance minister pick is making everything looks gloomier. There's no single excitement in the market. The international financial community doesn't seem to know what direction her appointment will lead to. Some are already suggesting she would be under under Udo Udoma. Even Kemi herself said her co-commissioners find it difficult to belief she's a commissioner during FAAC meetings. And to add salt on injury, there's already an ineffective CBN governor who is experimenting his classroom theories using over 140m lives as guinea pigs. The combination of the current CBN governor and Kemi is scary for Nigeria's economy. It's in the best interest of everyone for Kemi to be redeployed as Minister of State - Finance, to oversee monthly FAAC meetings so that someone with better understanding of the precarious economic situation would take charge. Let Buhari and her other godfathers spare Nigerians of the imminent trial and error economic direction. Five months is already wasted. |
Why is a single person holding 3 offices while others are just ministers of Adamawa, Gombe, Edo etc.? Is this the best use of human resources? |

Mr. Lai Mohammed, is this what they call recovery? How does taking bank balances amount to fund recovery? Is this how you plan your new 'megaphone' job? What is the meaning of this? |
