zurich1010: Good news. I learned that the village people have warned Obiano to stop tarnishing the name of their son whom they referred to as Their Governor and President; as this young philanthropist has done what government cannot do: built schools, churches, roads, power plants, water, given scholarships to over hundred young men,s sponsored over 20 abroad for their town.
Sponsored over 20 young men abroad (to South Africa) to be doing drug runs for him. The guy is bad for the town. He is a drug baron. He and his drug dealing compatriots are destroying their town. We need to call a spade a spade.
I thought he was supposed to be in at least protective custody to help the Police catch the killers. And he also has questions to answer about the killings in South Africa which led to the shooting in Ozubulu.
Way to go my good governors. We need to focus on what we can do for ourselves. We should not be waiting for a non-existent so called Federal government led by a clueless tribalist. And we should also start the process of regionalization on our own. Other regions need to be doing same too. The Southeast government should harness the entrepreneurial prowess of the Igbo for accelerated development of the Southeast. Bleep the so called Federal government.
Even the Sultan of Sokoto The Supreme Leader of the North (with all due respect to him) talking trash and arrant rubbish like a common criminal. What a shame.
The Sad truth is Nnamdi Kanu was right all along.... These Northerners have no conscience, no morals for Justice, equity or fairness.
Are they waiting for all of us to pick arms.?
Don't mind them. The rest of us from the South and Middlebelt should keep demanding for restructuring until it is done.
MyNewJackeT: Of course oil can't save Venezuela because of their socialist policies, they were giving out free stuff thereby making their citizens Lazy.
Similarly, the system of sharing monthly allocation to the States also makes Nigerians lazy. It makes everyone of us trying to get a share of the 'national cake'. Not good for progress at all.
hedonistic: I don't understand all this stupid noise and claptrap about investigating people's wealth. We have numerous "prominent" idiots in the public space who don't need any investigation because we all know that their wealth was illegally or illicitly acquired. Yet we celebrate them. Who has asked questions about Bola Tinubu's wealth? Or about Folorunsho Alakija's Wealth? Or Theophilus Danjuma? Or even the guy who calls himself the Lagos State Police Commissioner, Fatai whatever, who is a mere career policeman, but yet is wealthy enough to finance his daughter's education in the United States and then sponsor her wedding in the same country - ferrying loads of guests abroad (all expense paid) for the jamboree... A civil servant that earns a pittance as salary!
Who has "investigated" the wealth of these kinds of characters? Nobody! Because someone has a prestigious sounding occupation, the daft Nigerian society assumes that he or she must be legit, even if his lawful earnings fall far short of his lifestyle. Oh, he is a retired police commissioner, so that's why he owns a three star star hotel and is a very wealthy man. Oh, he is a former permanent secretary, so don't wonder how come he is a billionaire. Oh he is a banker, worked in this or that so-called establishment, so he is/was "gainfully employed" enough to own assets in multi millions and billions. On salary, allowances and entitlements of how much exactly? Who has asked questions about the disparity between occupational income and wealth for these kinds of characters?
Yet you have the audacity to question the income of totally self-declared, self-employed, and self-made entrepreneurs who refuse to be held down by Nigerian society's artificial shackles constructed to ensure mass immiseration, and are making a way for themselves, all by themselves - without ever having been arrested for a felony.
Very good. Season of quit notices. I like that the Middlebelt are asserting their independence from the North that have exploited and oppressed them for so long. Without the Middlebelt, the North is just like Chad or Niger Republic.
Sagay212: they really don't care where the money comes from. We have seen many time on the internet how they hail criminals and ritualists.
Same way your people hail their criminals and ritualists too. Senator Buruji Kashamu is a drug baron that is wanted in the USA. Yet his people still voted for him to go to the Senate. They regularly queue up to collect goodies from him. How about that?
OROSUNBOLB: God, please grant these people their biafra. I detest their values and culture; it promotes criminality. A useless culture that worships money/wealth without a care about the source of it. Those villagers and the traditional ruler are quite aware of the fact that 'bishop' is a criminal but they just don't care 'cause he is rich.
Montaque: Please how did we all get to connect Bishop in these whole incidence. Cos I ve not read of where the gun men said or indicated that they wanted the said bishop.
Bishop is right in the middle of the fracas. It's a big drug war between Bishop and his townsman Obrocho which has been going on in South Africa. You don't expect the traditional ruler to start giving details, do you?
verygudbadguy: The power and influence of money in the lives of people can not be over emphasized. But I have an exception. These days, our parents are more into money that they feign ignorance of what their children do to make money but accept gifts like houses and cars without serious query to confirm the source of those gifts.
It cuts across tribes. I am Yoruba and I know what I am saying. It wasn't like this before. Back then, a young guy can not buy iPhone without a job and the parent will look other way. Nowadays, the parents would even accept much more without asking questions.
The love of money is the root of all evil.
Thanks for being frank. This money craze cuts across tribes of course. Some fools would like people believe it is Igbo thing.
Nackzy: And you Celebrated him as a rich person me that has been in the village for decades...infact let me not talk ...I leave everything to God
If you are from Ozubulu, please accept my sympathies for the massacre that took place. I just listened to an audio file that gave details of what led to the attack. The audio was released by an insider. It's all about drug war. It seems that a lot of youth from Ozubulu are into the drug trade in South Africa. Your elders need to do something about that. There needs to be a change of orientation towards productive career. Bishop is obviously a drug dealer and should not be a role model for the youth.
jom28gy: By what was written here by the interviewers,I sensed that these people are ritualists, this is the handiwork of blood money ritualists.
Far from it. They are not ritualists. The attackers are drug dealers. They have issues with Bishop who is also a big time drug dealer. Their fight dates back to 2014 in South Africa. They went to their village to settle the issue but it was not successful. The traditional ruler said the issue for which they came home to settle was leadership tussle but it was actually about fight over drug deals. I did not expect him to admit it was about drug fight. And the fight is mainly between Bishop and another of his compatriot called Obrocho, also from Ozubulu. These details were released in an online video by an insider from Ozubulu who is also based in South Africa. The guy decided to bare everything because he was pissed off by the Church massacre. Very chilling details.
Weightless excuse from tribalist Dambazzau for not arresting his brothers Arewa youths. They were not quoted out of context. They gave the quit notice and made inciting statements. They should be arrested and prosecuted. Every Nigerian has the right to live anywhere in Nigeria. If violence is visited against the Igbos that stay back in the North after October 1, the Arewa youths, the Federal government and the various security agencies would be held responsible. And that action should start the process of disintegration of Nigeria. The Igbos would not tolerate another genocide against them and still remain in Nigeria. Never again. So Mr Dambazzau, you better call your violent brothers to order. You should let them know that they would be worse off if Nigeria breaks up. Without access to the Niger Delta oil, the North would end up like their Neighbors Chad and Niger Republic. Of course Nnamdi Kanu has been violating the so called bail conditions. Kanu himself admitted that. But he gave his reasons. He said the FG disobeyed court orders that granted him bail (just like they are doing with Dasuki). So the FG has lost their right to complain about violation of bail conditions. Also, by not arresting the Northern youths, the FG have given everyone else the right to issue quit notice to anyone. That's a recipe for anarchy.
GoingPlaces247: Please People sweden or Canada, which is the best to work and immigrate to? I need answers from all nairalanders. Please show some love and care.
Canada has consistently ranked as one of the best countries to live in. If you have the skill that can help you get job there, I suggest Canada especially since it's an English speaking country. Sweden is not bad though. But I hope you are not one of those blindly defending Buhari. If you are, I suggest you stay back in Nigeria and enjoy the horrible leadership.
Fools. Who is more corrupt than the Nigerian presidency. The shortsighted ones who are defending Buhari should realize that they are setting a precedence. Now we know that a president can stay away from Nigeria for as long as he wants (even for 4 years) as long as he hands over to the Vice President. Great.
emerged01: Nigeria will never break what will happen is genocide because I don't see referendum taking place. True federalism is achievable if we deeply cry for it.
As they say, never say never. If genocide takes place, that would result into break up for Nigeria.
What goes around comes around. Those of you supporting the Northern youths irresponsible quit notice to the Igbo should also support this Niger Delta quit notice to the Hausa/Fulani and the Yoruba.
Iamemma: I understand that our soldiers most times over step their bound, harrass and bully innocent citizens. However, I still feel that they deserve our constructive criticism and not the destructive ones, they deserve our love, respect and prayers.
The hate we reserve for our soldiers should be transferred to our APC and PDP looters from the grassroot to the highest level of leadership in our country
I bet that you or someone close to you have not been brutalized by the thugs in uniform. Nigerian soldiers are extremely lawless and believe they are above the law. They don't deserve any respect.
These figures seem more real and believable than the outrageous $90 billion being bandied about. I wonder what is stopping the EFCC from prosecuting the former Minister. Enough of these media trials. Let her have her day in court. If she actually stole all these, she belongs to the jail.
Some one is always jealous of you guys success. Dangote is the richest African, and he has never one day said any body is jealous of him.
This drug dealer should shut up.
You sound envious of the Igbo. If you don't have a business of your own, you need to set one up and struggle to make a success of it. That would keep you from having time to be envious. The guy made his statement as an individual and you have to find a way to generalize about his ethnic group that you hate so much.
Nigeria cannot survive two civil wars. If Igbos are massacred in the North, that would lead to Nigeria's second and last civil war and the disintegration of Nigeria. It is very irresponsible of the Buhari administration to allow the Northern youths to be threatening a particular ethnic group, setting the nation up for another civil war. If attack on the Igbos takes place, the Igbos will not fold their arms and be watching.
Very unfortunate that people who are risking their lives daily, working hard to keep our environment clean are not being paid. And the salary is too small for the risk they are taking every day. Very unfair. At the same time, some lazy buffoons who are not adding any value to our lives are feeding fat on the commonwealth. Nigeria is really a zoo. Animal farm. Big shame.
