My dad was never the beating type but temperamental because he stammers. So, whenever we misbehave and he shuns us, just do yourself a favour by keeping your distance otherwise he will be slapping you as he's cautioning you. But the real beater is my mum. Chei. If she mean to beat you, she can even go wear knicker and lash you with leather belt.
I hated her while growing up because she was partial. She was hostile to us the senior children but the junior ones were her favourites. She didn't give them the same measure of punishment she gave to us.

My dad has never, not once, beaten me. He even complains when he feels my mum's punishment or beating isn't justified. I was Daddy's girl, still am. He can do anything for me. After graduation, a long, gold chain was waiting for me; something he didn't do for my big sis. He made sure I had a fantastic traditional wedding, most expenses on him. Till tomorrow, he's the first to always wish me happy birthday year in, year out. He'd call every morning to pray for me. He can call for Africa! Beat me ke? Lailai!

My mum, Hmmmn! Disciplinarian Aye! She will beat silliness out of you. There's nothing she doesn't beat for -- if you walk and you drag your feet, if you eat and your mouth is making noise, if a visitor comes and you didn't disappear, if you're sent on an errand and you dare to walk casually on the road, if you are returning from school and you play on the road or gist with your friends, if she arranged your hair or dress and you returned with your hair doing hallelujah .... You will hear it! She uses ifoti, igbaju, igbarun, abara... anything that will come handy. I am happy now though that she did all that. Two soft parents will not suffice.

My dad no beat me like that but my Mama na terrorist

I am the last son in the children of 13 (10 boys and 3 girls) and my Father was an army. Is there anyone in this life that took beating than me ( from my elder brothers and father )

My brothers saw their punching bag in me and even when they commit an offence, they will point towards me and my Father will use his army belt and wire on me.

My mom had to narrowly suggest to my dad to send me to boarding school when the beating was something else. I thought I had escaped only to be a boarder from JSS 1 when the seniors decided to continue from where my dad and brothers stopped.

I was use to cane and belt already. The seniors always feel frustrated after beating me with belt and cane and I will still smile at them. But that changed when they started using Matchet to flog me and after each lashing, the rectangular shape of the Matchet will always display in my bum bum.


Omo I take beating from age 8 - 16. Those eight years were my trying time. If nor be say na Jesus Jesus be, I for say I don take the sins of Nairaland.

From my experience, it equal, none of the beating were below average
