Heck I prefer watching animes than actual movies.
There are limits in movies but anime can go deep and dark and even have more visual effects than fake ass movies

Some people watch cartoon as a stress reduction therapy, that you don't like such doesn't mean you should resent her for doing it. I watched cartoons from my childhood and I make bold to say they moulded me in a lot of ways. The way I speak, my comical side, all stemmed from watching cartoons. I am well advanced in age now but guess what? I still watch me good old cartoons. Those animes are loved and painstakingly created every year by many grown men and women-- many of them now in their 50s/60s-- who also have responsibilities, some even more than you can ever dream of shouldering. Stan Lee, for example, continued pushing his comic dreams well into his 90s and he had responsibilities too.

I have caches of cartoons, anime and otherwise, I draw cartoons and I do a bit of animation myself as a 3D artist, I find it easier as a teacher to communicate with kids especially when I know their cartoons, my lady on the hand is not a fan of television or shows or TV series or social media etc. I don't complain, what I see is lack of balance. I and my lady are learning to balance this. I watch some of her educational programs and read her books too and she watches some of my shows and TV series with me. To the man, I think he feels left out cos he cant appreciate her means of communicating with the kids, Call her and talk to her, there is need for balance and I want to believe there is a bit of exaggeration in that explanation, I can feel it cos I am a writer lol. Cartoons aren't just for kids though.There's a lot of cartoons whose content is too explicit for children,"The Boondocks" and "The Simpsons" for instance,I don't see a problem with an adult watches those.

There was one cartoon movie I watched long time ago I'm still trying to recall its title because it's very interesting,I am still checking out for it.It was about scientific experiment and inventions.Cartoons are usually interesting if you pay rapt attention.

my friend is 29, he watches anime till date, i think its about preference. I cant understand how a rich married guy at 29 would still be watching anime. The werey even influenced me to watch "attack on titans season 1-4"before the story became so complicated that I cant understand anymore. Me & my wife watch cartoons very well, intact my children are not allowed to watch any cartoon until my wife watch and approved it.
