Yes, children might get bitter when they have a father or mother who isn't there but they become less bitter once the defaulting party start to make amends.

You can not conclude like that. Divorce is not a crime. And yes, what is wrong in a woman knowing she can do better in life without a husband who makes her unhappy? Marriage no be do or die. If you don't marry a girl from divorce home, others will marry them. The same God said to fathers, do not push your children to anger Ephisians 6:4 , Col 3:21 but I know fathers don't know that part of the Bible since it does not suit their ego esp in Nigeria where we believe that title alone should bring us respect. Some people love to quote the scripture half baked forgetting the keywords. The Bible said: Obey your parents in the Lord FIRST, meaning parents who are in the Lord. While the Bible does not say that Children should disobey parents not in the Lord, but it's expected to happen considering there aren't raised with biblical principles (Prov 22:6).

Oh and I forgot, verse 4 says: Fathers do not "PROVOKE"... We love to quote the Bible when it suits our selfish interest forgetting what the Bible says in it's entirety.

I have issues with my father n we have not communicated over 20 yrs. I understand parent do wrong not just some times but lot of times that is no liberty to rubbish your father publicly like the girl did. Can this girl grow up to respect her husband when she as no respect for her father ? One wonders.

What happen to silence being golden ? What happen to correcting her father in a respectable manner ? Does ridiculing him solve whatever issue between them. thank you ,I can actually relate the hurt she is feeling cos I didn't even know my dad till I was 8 ,even when I finally got to know him ,he never made any effort to be my dad,even when my mum couldn't bear the financial burden when I got into the university, he told me if my mum couldn't Continue ,I should go and get married, so my husband can train me ,to think his house was just few minutes away from my university, my dad never once called nor visit,at a time I used to ask why the man hated me so much,after all I wasn't there when he had misunderstanding with my mum, I later realized he wasn't even worth my resentment, it affected my relationships,but I am glad I had to let go off the resentment, and now the only thing I owe him is bride Price to thank him for donating his sperm to form me
