The FGN
[li]has not set up Job Centers across LGAs where Nigerians who are unemployed/under-employed can go to register their names[/li] [li]has no liaison mechanism with Corporate Nigeria, SMEs and Very Small Businesses to continually monitor their payroll data to determine when and what number they hire or fire monthly.[/li]
Without the above, any statistics on employment in Nigeria is a FRAUD! |
I actually rained criticisms on GEJ for not making bold, proclamative speeches over the Jos crisis. FB is a good means, but this is a little belated, and only reaches as many Nigerians. Let us stop accepting abnormalities in Nigeria, let our Presidents learn to make galvanizing speeches when atrocities occur, not days and weeks after. I still support the Mr. President, the wahala too much! |
I have pondered this too. Everywhere a new branch/outlet opens up, a billboard/signpost/advert board springs up with nothing else but the image of the man who founded the church. On the other hand, it is improper to cook up an image of Christ on big bill boards because nobody actually knows for sure what he looked like, and we are warned not to be idolaters. Using the latest means of advert available, shouldn't we rather consider using catchy/legible/succint biblical verses on these billboards, instead of consciously/unconsciously building a loyalty cult around individuals. When these individuals eventually pass on, what will be the next image on those billboards? |
If I were president, I would at least make a strong worded speech and visit the area. I see no such spine in GEJ. Its almost like Plateau is not in Nigeria. |
Unfortunately, we still have people who ought to have matured in their reasoning and posturing, but have refused to for reasons I cannot fathom. This zoning consciousness is very detrimental. Was Tambuwal not elected? If we insist on zoning, then we should stop wasting time on elections. OBJ should stay away please, do us that favour. |
I met her during our days at UNIPORT!!! We have two God-sent wonderfully made smiling kids! I just can't express my joy! |
Posted by: Jaidey-oneThis conversation happened between my estate mai guard (a muslim man in his 60s from Kano) and I this afternoon. This was the first time of seeing him since the UN attack in Abuja last Friday. Me: "Alhaji, how u dey? U go soon end ur fast abi?" Mai Guard: "We dey o. na tomorrow." Me: "Alhaji, u don hear wetin happen for abuja?" Mai Guard: "yes now." Me: "Which kind thing be dat?" Mai Guard: "yes now, when u no go do good thing, god dey see am sef. wen u say people no go get something, e go dey happen na." I didn't understand what he was driving at, so I asked him to explain what he meant, and I stayed on to listen. Mai Guard: "You see am for dat election so, na Buhari win. Yes now, na im win am for election." Goose pimples spread over my skin. Me: "Haba Alhaji! Who tell u say na Buhari win? For this Lagos who win am? no be Jonathan?" Mai Guard: "Yes, Jonathan win for lagos, Buhari wind for everywhere. God dey watch everything we dey happen. The man wey dey for court, we go comot Jonathan, in don remove am, everybody dey shout! Dem dey talk am everywhere for radio, BBC" he pointed to his radio sitting on a close by bench. At this point another car started honking behind me, so I excused my self and drove home, not wanting to engage the mai guard anymore. Does this tell you guys anything about Boko Haram? |
After the Independence Day Bombings, I thought that the Nigeria Police would seat up and set up a coordinated event analysis center. For instance, stolen vehicles could be used for bombing, especially when the bombers are out of funds to buy their own vehicle. This means that every incidence of stolen vehicle should be taken very seriously by the Police in every part of the country, and such should be reported to a centrally controlled database. Nothing like that happened. June 16 followed, still no visible, intelligently coordinated approach to crime solving emerged. Nigeria Police with their empty heads is our biggest problem. |
Posted by: RheaIs that a joke or what? Did NTA not report that the guy died too? |
Posted by: oto oroCan you just suggest a link for one to read about the Rothschilds? |
The more I ponder it, the more I have come to realize, Boko Haram has been hijacked by some evil men for political purposes, to destabilize Nigeria. For instance, >Why is Abuja a target, if their true mission is to islamize the north or Nigeria? They should start from the northernmost parts and gradually come down. > If they are on a random islamizing mission, why have they not done any attacks in the south or west yet? Ahhh! It must be a northern politician! |
The poster of the picture should have inserted a link, and then a warning message of the gruesome nature of the picture. Wouldn't that have been a nicer approach? |
Why does Nigeria continually produce leadership that fails to see the connection between good governance, social security and development? Why does Nigeria continually produce leadership that take a laissez-faire approach to serious national issues? Why does Nigeria continually produce empty heads in high offices who cannot galvanize a nation. No Nigerian leader has ever galvanized this nation even through the commonest but yet powerful tools - a speech? GEJ'S first condolence goes to the UN, not to Nigerians and our hurt social pride. |
As it turns out, I have met many muslims, and I have a very good friend who is a muslim. We turned from colleagues to very good friends today, even after we no longer work in the same organization. He is not on NL, and he makes a lot of sense when he talks. Unfortunately, the NLers who appear to be muslim make little sense in their posts. They do not respond to the essence of the matter being discussed, they see everything as stereotyping them. I really don't know the kind of bondage they are in. Whatever it is, its effects are very obvious. |
oto oroGuy, put a link in your post if you want us to read something we don't already know. |
Quite frankly, I do not believe yet that the likes of IBB, Atiku and Buhari are behind the bombings. However, their body language is so unhelpful. Now to GEJ, stop using kid gloves. The people of Nigeria demand concrete, articulated actions. If I had seen that truck parking in the garage of the UN building, and wanted to alert the police, how could I have done it? No 911, 999 number to call. If I decide to go to the station, by the I get there, the bomb would have gone off. And when I finally get there, they would say I put the bomb there. REFORM THE POLICE NOW. SACK ALL OF THEM AND REDO THE BUDGET! |
@190smh It may be political, but why are Muslims the one to be used. If it was a non-muslim that lost the elections, would he resort to 'non-islamize Nigeria?' There is something about Islam that promotes/justifies these kinds of terrorism. Period! GEJ is , GEJ is, I really don't know what to say? Is he afraid of something? Or some people? And why does he make unguarded, miscalculated statements. Didn't he once say 'we know these people?' |
I suspected the Nigeria police will resume business as usual after some weeks of inactivity by the Boko Haram in Abuja, and true to their nature, they did. After the Police HQ bombing, I carried a bag into the airport lounge and on approach, a group of 4 policemen at the entrance stopped me. As i was bringing out my hand to shake them, a 200 naira note fell on the floor and the nearest policeman trapped it with his foot and moved aside for me to pass on into the lobby with my laptop bag. It could have been a bomb, I wasn't traveling, just went to see someone off. I didnt know the language had become so sublime to bribe the police. You don't even need to speak, just let money drop from your pocket and they immediately start responding. The UN office had separate car parks. How did the truck get in there? Was someone bribed to turn a blind eye? |
alj_harem@alj harem, Keep your eyes on the point. MEND, OPC, Bakkasi have all participated in some form of terror or the other, however, none of these have associated their acts with the Bible or any religious text whatsoever. None of them has ever claimed they want to pursue some narrow-minded religious agenda. It is only terrorists with a link to Islam that seek to pursue a religious agenda in their acts and pronouncements. The IRA in their fight with the English never mentioned the Bible in their acts. Keep checking the facts, its consistent. |
Posted by: alj_haremThere is something inherent in Islam, something unspoken, unwritten but nonetheless existent that allows Muslims to become terrorists and justify it with Islam. That thing is hidden deep in the Arabic language but not found in the Quran, something Muslims from other diluted parts of the world only get to know when they associate with the terrorists. Why is it that all terrorists who find justification in their religion have an allegiance to Islam? The terrorists who are not Muslims have NEVER mentioned the Bible, or any other religious text in their propaganda. Why? @alj harem, They have not stolen your religion, there is something unwritten in Arabic, (and traceable to Mohammed), only the few , and the undiluted Jews know it. |
I pray for Nigeria, but Nigeria is not a nation yet! It is just a clearing of land where the largest concentration of black people have been dumped, and they are groping in darkness, wondering what they are doing on this massive clearing of land. |
My wife bleeps me less these days. When I complain, she simply tells me 'this pussy has gone through a lot and after two children, it needs time to cool off.' The second child came barely 8 months ago. She is less loyal. Before we got married, she could cold anything I ask her, but after 2 years, she wouldn't do most things even if I published it in the dailies. I already vowed to remain faithful, so I'm becoming more romantic these days, hoping it will make her become more bed-loyal. All in all, I think its a great experience and we never can tell where, when and how it will end. Enjoy every bit, whatever it is. |
js_pac (m)Wabara is out, was that a prediction? |
Kayode's return pass on the left flank is not looking good. 17 minutes no goal for highest scoring team. England is closing us down o! |
England just came close, its not going to be easy. These guys are tactically aware |
Posted by: oxfordI still maintain that the Interest free banks in Nigeria will suffocate from their incapacity to monitor the people they lend to. |
The Nigerian Embassy in Colombia has just granted the CUP's Visa Application to come to Nigeria. Two years multiple entry!!! |
RIP, Sam Loco. We appreciate your life and , just speechless. We'll see again at the resurrection. |
Posted by: romeoYou got a point there, just like them calling a man illiterate just because he can't read english, but reads yoruba/ibo bible well well. |
@Bluetooth/@Olokonla How dumb you can be. It was only the name of this Nigerian that jump started your slow brain cells to make a comment. How do you know he wasn't traveling with one of his numerous stolen passports bearing that name. If you were our diplomat in India, is this what you would say to the press? Shame on you both! Unfortunately, he must have been just a courier for a big shot, who is in Lekki somewhere chilling and waiting for bank alerts. |
The root of the strife is the chasm between demand and supply. What disposition does the Govt budget have towards massive public housing? How many units will be constructed in the next two years? How will the govt monitor this law? considering that many people are ready to pay two year's rent out of desperation, than those offering one year's rent out of reality of their pockets. Does anything in the law stop landlords from hiking prices to cover for all the discomforts the law brings upon them? If there is no rent control, I'm afraid net effect here is very near zero! |
I really thought this man had something to reveal. I think our obsession for outrageous scandals in this country is in overdrive. |
