Posted by: onyezebros^^ Excellent. It is also because every action, word or thought is viewed mainly from ethnic eyes that so-called nigerians have not been able to rise above the devilish political class. The political class has actually gotten their acts together and when illicit budget money is being squandered, they are blind to their ethnicity and religion. Fashola and Ribadu reacted too quickly like political rascals, and I believe that a political party that would not subject itself to Democratic Primaries, but would rather rely on the divination of a certain Tinubugod to appoint and allocate politicians for various elective positions and shamelessly display nepotism in the process is ABSOLUTE RASCALITY. PERIOD!!!!!!!! |
I would have loved to see her wearing brand new african braids weaved by kanekalon experts in Ikeja. Her dress is way too low for matrimonial respect. Oyibo no value marriage anymore but we africans still do. She would have stood out with the braids and a sown-to-size bubu. every eye would turn to look at her. For once, let's do celeb our Naija way. Onyeka Onwenu knows how. |
administrators , compelled to do the barest minimum , in charge of Nigeria. If GEJ is seen to be trying will we not give him time ? You say presidency is not easy yet you fail to realise that it can only be insincerity and ineptitude that makes Jonathan deploy another Aondoakaa , in the form of Adoke, when Nigeria , as a nation with one of the most corrupt judiciary on earth, is screaming for a Femi Falana type as AGF. It is lack of goodwill and selfish myopia that led Jonathan , at a time security is at its worst, to appoint Ringim as IGP when all those senior to our current IGP's were better qualifed academically, proffesionally and meritocratically !!!! How about Waziri as EFCC boss ? What war are we fighting against corruption with her ilk in charge? Has the Senate not just rejected Jonathan choice of a 72 years old man as ICPC boss? I could go on !! If GEJ deliberately fails to get it right with something as basic as getting the right folks into very important and influential positions how does your excuse of "presidency is not easy" sensible? The man is not even trying for god sake !!!!! In fact he is deliberately and wilfully doing what is wrong encouraged by a populace with very low expectations of their leaders.I hope you did criticize Yar'dua this much. All Presidents before GEJ have performed questionable in many areas. I doubt people like you rent the air with this type of airtight criticism. Yar'dua was far more docile than GEJ. Did anyone of them EVER appoint an honest AGF? Is it because GEJ is from a minority that people like you think you can shout him down every step of the way? Before Onovo was finally appointed as IG, were there not less superior officers appointed before him? GEJ is NOT deliberately doing what is wrong as you believe and NIgerians have ALWAYS had very low expectations of their leaders. What is the difference between a Waziri in charge and a Ribadu in charge. Waziri is not fighting selective wars as opposed to Ribadu and GEJ is not blindly witch hunting people like OBJ did. People like you only cry eclipse when the sun has moved to the other side, it is not eclipse everywhere. |
Sunny Udochukwu is actually a spot holder for now.Ribadu has picked Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as his running mate but Tinubu is against it because "she is too opinionated".However, They have until February 15 to substitute Ugochukwu.ACN - Auto Cracy Nigeria! Subject yourselves to Primaries. |
Same OBJ who cleared OGD of corruption back in 2007 and ACN Ribadu didn't put up a fight. OGD got carried away in power. Did he think he would have a 3rd term? |
Who told you Fashola’s running mate is against his will or are you now an ACN spokesperson?GEJ stands for democracy and its tenets. ACN doesn't. It stands for autocracy and believes it has the right to appoint the people's leaders. ! GEJ released someone arrested for murder in his desperation to win the PDP primaries and released billions of funds on 31st December ostensibly for the same aim and we are supposed to believe he is innocent? And your Bank handled the transactions? Do you have proof? Aren't there ACN Senators who know this too? Can't they raise the probe? The point is that Fashola is still a vine among thorns. If you think your president is silly, then you truly have no hope. |
, the SW zone is too important to be left in the hands of rascals. Those interpreting the above to mean an affront on Fashola are guilty of prejudice against the President. Is it far from your minds to discern that there are rascals on both sides of the divide (PDP and ACN)? To push a political party through a democratic process in an undemocratic way is rascally. ACN is completely guilty of this and Fashola will now be running with a new mate against his will, among many other impositions time and space cannot contain on this forum. To turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to the malgovernance of Ogun and Oyo states by Daniel and Akala is also rascally by the leadership of the PDP. GEJ simply made an innocent statement from his politically naive mind to a prejudiced public. Mind you, political naivety is exactly the equivalent of innocence. Fashola should admit that he is a vine among thorns, only his personal political will has set him apart from the dictators on his street. I hope they don't come back to twist his arms beyond his measure in the next four years. (Lekki toll awaits him.) |
Muhammadu Buhari, hmmm isn't he the same man that truncated a certain democracy in December 1983. Oh yes, ofcourse. He has come to truncate another one. Always his agenda. Nigerians and their non-existent memory. Our politicans now have stolen far more than they stole in '79-83. If we had another Buhari in the Army today, he would have served nine years as Military Head of State (2003-2011 and counting) by now. |
Why is the government/police flexing muscle on MASSOB? Is it because MASSOB has not imported weapons on a massive scale and are rattling the foundations of their communities with violence? MASSOB so far has been non-violent, as opposed to Boko Haram. Police & Government & Governor, please this is an overkill. Go out there in Borno, Bauchi and Plateau and engage the violent ones. MASSOB is as weak as it is seen. MASSOB cannot foist a Biafra on Biafrans except Biafrans accept it and want it. So far, that is not the case. |
Boko Haram may have convinced many that they are a religious sect. But how can one explain the killing of the ANPP Guber candidate and the governor's brother? The Federal Government is not doing enough. What is so difficult in infiltrating Boko Haram? The Fed Govt got it wrong when they killed their former leader in police custody. They should have set him free and tagged him with surveillance (in the event that he wins the court case against him in the first place.) afterwards. In our typical NIgerian jungle-mindedness, he was shot in cold blood like a common criminal. He was not - he was an ideological criminal. Now BBC throws away our sovereign integrity by interviewing a criminal and has the audacity to publish it. Did they contact the SSS and ask if this interview would hurt Nigerian sovereignty? Our poor infrastructureless, clueless, brown-envelope hungry media, none could even find this guy to elicit an interview. Shame on all. GEJ, make Naija no spoil for your hand o, better pass the ball or you dribble and score hattrick. Goal 1: Give us Power Supply Goal 2: Birth the precedence of credible election and punishment of election fraudsters Goal 3: Strengthen the police force to give security (the likes of Boko Haram will die in the face of tactical surveiilance.) |
@nwabobo, I admire your insistence on the (POV) point of view that this constitutes a potential landmine. This kind of utterance from an erstwhile political associate/boy/servant/fb administrator of the governor reveals a lot only after deep and thoughtful reflections. 1. First things first - Gov Lamido's order to arrest and charge this offender under that penal code is wrong. 2. I wonder if the Judge requested any evidence to convince him that this offender ought to be remanded in prison. The kind of evidence a Judge asks for before issuing warrants and the like. 3. Moukhtar Ibrahim Aminu has shown openly that he lacks political maturity. If his father is a politican and he got as close as being an administrator on the fb profile of the governor, then I suspect that he has traits of advancing his political views. This is NOT clearly how to do it, and he MUST take this admonition seriously for political future. Having said these, I hope he wins in court as he is not a criminal. But borrowing a leaf from Sarah Palin's crosshairs calamity in Tucson Arizona, we can see that certain statements that people has the potential to cause other less balanced people to realize same literally. This same kind of verbal venom is found in the library of real terrorists. |
BTW, can the police prove that the man they have detained owns the facebook profile. Lets get logical, unless they can trace the device used to post the text on FB wall to this guy, they have no forensic proof admissible in court. Anyone can use any name to open an fb profile and pose as another person, upload pics that he has stolen from some other media and keep impersonating. It will only be a biased judge that will even listen to this case. Case dismissed! |
@dapachez, Crime was committed in 2010 or feb 2011? It would be nice if we had the text that constituted an insult to the governor. When protesters on the streets carry placards that make caricature of political leaders and sometimes make outright assertions, do they go to jail? As long as the demonstration is peaceful, nobody considers the text on the placard. Abi? When protesters burn effigies of presidents, do they go to jail? Unless this guy made a threat 'I will attack your convoy tomorrow,' I don't see what the big deal is. Nigeria has no law on virtual/cyber identities and I doubt it can be admitted in any court in Nigeria yet. At least that is the same argument they use when they subpena politician's bank accounts in court. They tell us computer input is not admissible in court. Whose interpretation now? |
Unfortunately, some NLers cannot post without betraying the contemptible bias that resides in their rotten bellies. The government is missing the mark in handling the Jos crisis. That mosques were burnt is unfortunate. It could have been churches, and has mostly been churches in the past. Both sides have shown despicable savagery in their acts, how do we ensure that people live freely without the shadow of sectarian evils lurking in the closed minds of avowed ignoramuses. |
Posted by: ADintVery impartial. Turai wasn't better by any margin. Her husband had some difficulty too, but perhaps due to his illness. Generally, I observed that many of our past leaders can hardly make coherent, admirable impromptu/unwritten speeches. I haven't been proud listening to any of our past leaders speak. However, grooming works for everyone regardless of age. With all the instruments of her office, she can get some level of grooming to improve on any area of her appearance if she so desires. Stella OBJ did hers in terms of cosmetics, unfortunately. Secondly, I would do a better job as her speechwriter by writing speeches for her that are made up of short, precise ad succint statements that will convey the same message. e.g 1. "I have always strived throughout my life to always ensure that women in Nigeria get the kind of representation that would help them impact society in the same way that they impact their family and children and that is why I am here today to urge you all to give women a chance in our politics." 2. "I have always defended the cause of women. I want women to be better represented in Nigerian politics. I believe that women can bring change and honor. As they do in their families." Item (2) is a better approach for her type. I would like to see a Patience who would read better with respect to punctuations. Her somewhat broken voice adds to the illusion that she can't read. |
I think Ribadu is just a stark hypocrite. He is running a campaign for presidency and should focus on that. Calling on GEJ to resign is outright silly coming from him. If he has any points against GEJ, he should reserve it and present it decently in a presidential debate. Not by asking GEJ to resign. Although Ribadu's war on corruption under OBJ was one-sided, the going argument then was this: 'at least the people he is arresting are corrupt. Let's wait for another regime to arrest the other side.' Having said this, Ribadu should search himself and see that he is not as clean as he wants us to believe. I support GEJ, but I also have some very sore points against him too. The reality is that he is unique in his approach, considering how he came to office. The rot PAC just revealed has always been there from IBB (he started the settlement culture). GEJ has only shown that he has the balls to put together a group of men to tell him the truth. What we should wait for now is what he does with the truth. If he sweeps it under the carpet after he wins the elections, then we can shout him down and put the heat on him. Was it not last week he met with PAC. He went ahead to appoint people into new SSAs, portfolios that were already existing and occupied. He didn't create them. If we had shown this same kind of impatience to the leaders before him, perhaps the problem would have been long solved. Buhari has made some intolerable statements and has never recanted them, perhaps he should really tone down and demonstrate it. I wish he could resurrect Idiagbon to run with him. |
Posted by: 13voltsFrom what perspective please? Is this your first time of using these words? If so, please recheck the thesaurus and try to remain decent always. @Bukkites,you ignorant dumb backside, you mean knowing ones language is illiterate to you, i can see now that you are very old fool to have thought that.No one is an illiterate if you can read and write your language,it does not have to be english dumb, english is a language of english,so is french, german, italia, arabic, espano, all this languages are so independent on thier own and they dnt regard themselves as iliiterates, its only backward foolish people that think our learning our indigeous language is crap when other countryIf you were attentive, I did say a lot of northerners actually do read and write arabic, meaning they are not illiterate in the right sense of the word. However, if you must see yourself as a Nigerian, then you must also speak, read and write english while also being versed in your language. Refer to senators like Buka Abba Ibrahim and you will love education for the north. Do you want to bring hausa to the national assembly? or rewrite our road signs in hausa? All indigenous languages are in the education curriculum and the CBN has even gone a step further on the naira notes. I believe you can post sense here without posting your nonsense. |
Has anyone summoned the police to make them accountable for the decades of communal and religious and ethnic clashes we have had without prosecutions and convictions of perpetrators? |
Illiteracy is really not the problem. Many northerners can read arabic and can write it, but they just don't want to do same with english. In some schools, hausa is used as the teaching language. This means that our education system is not penetrating the north adequately. This is a deliberate ploy by so called northern leaders to keep the minds of their masses closed, The northerners who can afford it give their children the right form of education, and those are the ones we meet in enlightened places (minority). If you can't speak english, or refuse to do so just to frustrate anyone who doesn't understand your local language, then you are anti-Nigeria. English language is the ONLY way we can even begin to communicate at all levels in this failing nation. I know a good number of muslims that wouldn't hurt a fly in the name of religion. When I look at their educational background, oooh, they are so enlightened. Ironically, both our religions abhor terrorism. |
On reducing the size of government, is GEJ headed in the right direction? I'm skeptical. On wisdom of appointing a conspicuous figure like Bianca when her husband is critically ill? If I have wisdom, this is not part of my belongings. On frittering away his goodwill? Far from the truth. Many unexposed Nigerians will still vote for him because these issues of govt size doesn't bother them. But please, GEJ should ignore his numerous political advisers for a moment, wear danchiki and board danfo to see that what they tell him is often not true. |
If you are looking for data integrity, INEC would disappoint you. Truly, they have nothing to cross reference with. The last national ID exercise was unsuccessful in 2001. People in the hinterland have nothing to show as identification before they can be registered. Secondly, when the scanners were seen to be malfunctioning, some people were asked to register without scanning their fingers. |
I believe the process would have been smoother if handled by telecommunication providers. This will work fine in the State capitals and places like Warri & Aba. I bet you the remote LGA DO NOT have MTN/GLO offices. We might as well save our breathes for complaining. It is a systemic problem. can we all stop to imagine for one second the following: 1. that NIPOST had evolved organically since Independence 50 years ago. (Many people even in the hinterlands and valleys would have access to surface mail using REGISTERED P.M.Bs & P.O.Boxes that are close to them) 2. that FRSC had a reliable database since 1991 of our drivers licenses (All persons 18 and above who drive would be known, finger-printed and face scanned every 3 years on expiration/renewal cycles) 3. that Land C of Os (for land ownership) were duly registered all over the country (All persons rich enough to own land would be known) 4. that Birth & Death certificates were being tracked (Of all the above, we would be able to identify new, active and inactive records and annotate as appropriate) 5. that our International Passport was being issued diligently by NIS (All persons in the Diaspora would be known) 6. that NECO & JAMB (which are FULLY Nigerian Exam Bodies) students was being properly administered and recorded (All our secondary school students sitting for the exam and becoming undergrads would be known to have reached voting age) There are more Points of Reference, but the foregoing are just a few. The icing on the cake is that INEC would only need to constitute a SYNERGY Committee across board and using simple VENN DIAGRAM/SET THEORY, compile an accurate and up to date VOTERS REGISTER. When the register is published, all persons who did not see their names on it can file a complaint and the same Synergy Committee would annotate as appropriate. Are you all with me? |
Imagine what meaningful contributions as seen from the eyes of a gqy, Ministry of Homosexuals, Special Assistant on Gay Matters, Ambassador to Gay Country, This is for their backsides, whishh whashhh (eehhh, my nyash oo!). |
it most be an igbo person. i no know say their women sef don join. no offence pls Tongue@sessy2, Tell me, if you were in charge of investigating this matter, would you wear this obnoxious ethnic sentiment while reviewing the matter? @obiora1990, mbulela didnt say everyone working in the civil service is corrupt. your parents may not have been, but they sure do have peers who did the things they abhorred and such are the category of persons that make the civil service stink. the stench is HORRIBLE. I went to renew my drivers license at VIO/FRSC office but was made to pay for a new one as my old license was determined to be a fake (i paid my mechanic 5k to get one for me)The cost of a new one is about 3,000 but they will ask you to pay 5,500. A receipt will be issued to you bearing 3,000. When you ask for the difference, they will tell you it is for driving school certificate. They have a racket in there that provides tonnes of driving school certificates with various names that they issue to the public. You don't need to attend to have it. The school doesn't exist. When EFCC recovers the money, they will likely enter into a plea bargain and share the money, Next embezzler please, and Naija moves on!!! You see the problem? There is too much poverty and little opportunity for merit, so everyone needs the money (even the president's wife from crude oil lifters) HAHAHAHAHHAAAAAAAAA. ![]() |
@cabana, Please which position did you apply for. I'm a geophysicist and i'm waiting earnestly for the call. |
GEJ already said Wikileaks is falseAll Presidents who see eye to eye with the US were asked by the US to denounce the leaks, so as not to encourage more leakers. Other countries who have enough pride in themselves decided to keep mum about it, while inwardly fuming at wikileaks on one hand, and on the other quietly grateful to wikileaks for helping them learn more about some persons/diplomats/countries. Wikileaks is real, the only worry is that some News Organizations now edit the leaks for certain unknown (though obvious) interests. We know out looters, we recognize them and praise them when they loot (chieftaincy titles) and belittle them when they don't. Halliburton scandal is a legitimate leak, the key players haven't even received as much as a letter from EFCC. Naija we hail thee! |
Verily verily, my research fails to serve. The Honorable Member uses high-sounding, mostly overkill language in his conversations and arguments. It won him attention in the media. However, I am not convinced he was instrumental in winning any argument or driving any Bill home. ACN is less vain than PDP, by a Nigerian-measured margin. He ought to have considered passing a law to make handheld dictionaries very cheap, so that the electorate/constituents can follow his campaign. (That was for your ribs), |
Pls, did anyone apply to Chevron (geophysics vacancy) of september 2010? have you written the test yet? |
Pls where is the original advert? I think I want to apply. |
IF CE collected money at their gates/or inside at the pews, it is really not a problem. They could be tactfully raising money for a project or a charitable cause from willing members. HOWEVER, TO TURN BACK THOSE WHO COULDN'T PAY, that is robbing them of an opportunity to hear the word of God. Please, CE members or anyone who dares defend the gate takings, what is really the ONE THING WE SHOULD DO? Engage in charity works or spread the Gospel and win Souls for Christ? Chinua Achebe reminds us that in spite of our good works, the real solution lies in creating an environment where Charity would become unnecessary (paraphrasing). Salvation or Charity? If one is to be desired, it is Salvation, and it is FREE. The poor will always remain among us. Hmmmm, I have a good knowledge of the perception of CE members. A good number of them have their minds made up on the personality of Oyakhilome. It is not surprising that many of them would defend him vehemently in all matters. Please focus on the message, and not the messenger. |
You can take a look at something I have worked on. I have been at it for six years now, so I can say it is really worth reading. Let me know if you like it and want some more of it. @ Agstar, I have been to your site. It is not easy to find such services. Do you offer Representation for new writers? Will you charge a few for Critiquing? I have the first few chapters of my work here. Please let me have your candid thoughts on it. |
I hope you are conscious of the few responses your post has elicited, i think its an indication of our appreciation for written works and for reading. Your story starts on a hooking note and is worth reading (not only for teenagers). If what you have posted here is really what is in print, may I suggest a few corrections? Or have you made these already? I am a write myself and have a few works of mine seeking the publishers' blessings. I think we have a lot to share. |
