No p mate. I'm not criticizing you or anyone. I'm just surprised that with the large number of bloggers on this forum, we couldn't get someone to answer a question as easy as the one you answered.

You said you are going to start your blog? Well I think blogging is still very lucrative just that few people are doing it right. I'll advise you to learn about content marketing and try to make a difference.

Nigerian bloggers are amazing. Imagine the large number of bloggers on this forum and just a few have a little idea of what long tail keywords are.

It's really amazing how people venture into blogging thinking it's easy to make it not knowing that it involves lots of work and learning.

Anyways long tail keyword is more about being more specific. For instance "automatic wristwatch" is a keyword but if the niche is already saturated then you can try a long tail keyword like "automatic wristwatch for men" or "automatic wristwatch for women" by including men or women, you've created a new, focused niche for yourself, so that when people comes to your blog, they find specialized information that fits that particular group.

Long tail keyword is pretty lucrative if you able to find a good one but it's very limiting and in some cases you may not find much topics to write about.

You should go for it, when your chosen niche is already saturated and you're sure you can get a lot of topics to talk about.

I don't know if you've visited elnacain.com but that's an example of a long tail keyword blog. She's focused on freelance writing but while everyone is talking about "freelance writing on Fiverr and co" , she's focused on "freelance writing by pitching cold emails" and she's really getting good followership. I even followed her but after a few weeks I realized she's just saying the same thing over and over again. That's the limiting factor of long tail keywords.
