davidylan:
He's white, he doesnt have to worry about a failed policy. Obama is struggling to survive his first yr in office.

Kerry lost in 2004 BECAUSE Bush and co used false intelligence to con the people about the terrorism threat level. Americans were still in the throes of 9-11 and the Iraq war that just started . . . all Karl Rove and co needed to do was paint democrats as weak on terror and Kerry's campaign was doomed.
i disagree. despite all the rhetoric, john kerry lost in 04 mainly b/c he lost ohio. if he won ohio he would have been in the oval office now doing his 2nd term.and how did he loose ohio? similar to florida loss in 2000 _____the secretary of state for ohio (my ken blackwell, an african american) sat on top of a very fraudulent election that was bedevilled by allegations of fraud and dissappearance of ballots. he was a republican under governor taft. he rigged it for bush, that was why many people were dissappointed when kerry conceeded and even started a conspiracy theory of ''skulls'' affiliation btw bush and kerry.

kerry lost, the next yr mr ken blackwell now went to seek election as the republican candidate for gov of ohio, and his republican brothers remembered that he is black, they voted for a white democrat. . . .

i think the law was made after the civil war. many people had guns, run into trouble with police, get to hospital, get treatment and run away. so it was a ploy to make sure no gun shot wound patient is an armed robber. it is outdated, things have changed, the armed robbers are now in the nationall assembly and its time to change the law.

but nigerians are more interested in the super eagles than in their govt. thank God the eagles are not going anywhere again. we can focus on our country.

i think it would be better to direct our anger to the lawlessness and insecurity of our land than to attack the nurses who were simply obeying the laws of the land. we have a national assembly, if the law is bad, we should tell them to change the law. and by the way the story went, the way i see it, that hospital may not be able to save that guy's life and yet they'll be arrested for treating bullet wounds without police report. . . . .and we'll be here in nairaland posting the details. dont blame them.

again, the signs of a failed nation begin to show. not because of murder(it happens everywhere) but b/c the culprits are so relaxed that they had time to wash their hands. b/c they know nothing would happen.

i think people like igwe are in complete denial - they actually think that white people are capable of looking beyond race and judging black people on an objective basis - it makes you wonder how people like that have coped in such a racist country like america.
@cap
dont worry about it. it's not new. there were black soldiers who fought for the confederate army. they wanted the confederates to secede and form a country where they will happily remain as slaves. it's not new and it's not blacks alone.
over 4000yrs ago, when the jews were slaves in egypt, there were jews who opposed moses' plans to liberate the israelites. even after they had crossed the red sea and left egypt, there were those who still felt things were better in egypt.

during the 3rd reich, there were jews who worked happily for the germans. and even lashed out on their fellow jews.

forget what history lectures u may have had in school, during the civil rights movt, not all blacks were in favour of the movement. some hated the bus boycott, the march in washington, the protests in different cities etc.

that is human beings for you.

tayo,
if u are talking about religion, i'm a bit of a ''conservative anglican xtian''. but otherwise i believe in what some people like to call ''liberal ideas''.

in the last 5 yrs, thousands of nigerians have been indicted in fraud globally. only tayo can suggest that a blanket condemnation be given to us all.

acorn must not be damned. it must be investigated thoroughly and the sinners punished properly.

the spineless democrats who cant even pass a bill with 60 votes are guick to obey glenn beck. . . . . i think democrats should never be in power again grin perhaps a new party should come up

do u really believe fox has more videos and they are yet to release them?

if fox really has those videos, why are they withholding them?

do they need more editing? ask baby, ask these guestions.

and i just watched rick now and he is still wondering why they wont honor his invitation, and yet fox will be the first to say others don cover the news. when the people who shot the video are yet to honor an invitation.

the loosers are the honest acorn workers who have been disparaged. and also those who really benefit from honest acorn services. they have been deprived. and they are mainly poor people.

the baby has been thrown away with the bath water
Foreign AffairsRe: Why Isn't CNN Reporting The Recent Acorn Scandal? by preselect(m): 6:37pm On Sep 18, 2009
@jesoul

there is a medical joke that there is no anal examination without fecal contact. hmmmn Drs are dry jokers, i know, but fact is, there is no organisation in the US (and indeed the whole world) that will face pure scrutiny without scandalous revealations. even the vatican. we cannot burn down acorn b/c of what 5 videos showed. if we must burn down acorn, there should be a full investigation of all acorn workers and all their activities in the last I0-20yrs or beyond(i dont know how long acorn has existed.) then if found guilty they will be closed down forever. but that will not happen. you know why? the aim is not to close down acorn, the aim is to disparage obama through it.

jesoul, someone can get you 30 videos in 24 hrs of white people molesting blacks in massachusettes alone. what are you going to do? burn down all white people? millions of white people also voted for a black man to be president. white people fought a war to end slavery, white people joined in the march for civil rights, a white president from the south presided over the civil rights movement. see?

but the videos can show you otherwise. think baby, think before u believe everything. there is always news behind the news. go for it, that is the real truth. the problem with half truths is that it is easy to believe. devil used it in the garden of eden. a lie is better than a half truth. think my dear, b4 u believe. have a nice day wink
Foreign AffairsRe: Why Isn't CNN Reporting The Recent Acorn Scandal? by preselect(m): 5:02pm On Sep 18, 2009
@jesoul,
in an age where people believe there are death panels, obama was born in kenya, he is a mus-lim, all news propagated from the right wing media and its cronies . . . any news item originating from fox news or its cronies has to be verified thoroughly. why wont those guys talk to rick sanches of cnn? not that their story is false, but it creates room for outlets like msnbc to really take their time to verify it b4 announcing it.

it's not like the jeremiah wright story which fox was first to report, but videos of which were from church cameras and not from fox associated ''independent'' video producers.

if it was the other way round, fox news wont report it asap. and i understand. remember fox said the march in washington was a million people. and others felt it was like 60,000 people. did fox tell you that one of the leading organisers of the march has written in his website that obama is an indonesian mus-lim thug? well, fox news has its way and msnbc has its way too. but forget msnbc b/c they and fox are about the same thing from opposite sides. cnn and the rest still had to wait to be sure b/c not all things from fox are facts. journalism.huh? did fox tell u that the woman in the video u posted was just fooling the producers? did they tell you that police checked her out and found that she was just blabbing? journalism is alive right?

so my dear, if i were u, i wont believe everything i hear so fast. reagan said, trust, but verify. how much more when i dont trust? hmmn wink

seriously, this guy is getting on my nerves. what does he think he is doing? a reality tv show? he is the president. he is talking too much and very soon people will be tired of hearing him. haba. learn from LBJ who was always on the phone talking to senators or talking to journalists telling them about the senators he spoke to, that way he presurrised the senators to pass his bills. bills which became laws that people like obama, you and tayo are enjoying today 40yrs after.

this guy has nearly the same electoral victory as LBJ did in I964 election and caongressional support, yet he is not being pushful like LBJ he is busy running around tv shows and townhalls. stay in washington and do the damn politics involved to get what u want.
Foreign AffairsRe: Why Isn't CNN Reporting The Recent Acorn Scandal? by preselect(m): 4:14pm On Sep 18, 2009
@jesoul,

news item has to be verified b4 it is reported. the guys who did these videos were associated with fox news, they have done interviews with fox news anchors but have refused to talk to rick sanche of cnn. it is not easy for msnbc/nbc to verify any news item originating from fox news. and u know why.(and vice versa). but when they verified it, they talked about it too.

spot on david, journalism didnt die today. unlike you, i dont think it dies 20yrs ago. i think i was dead on arrival, it died long before television was invented. only that in the past few decades, its corpse has started to smell.

how come nobody here noted that the video jesoul put up is just a show? the lady working for acorn knew that acorn was under ''attack'' and guessed correctly that she was on secret camera and she ''played along'' . police investigations showed her husband was alive, she killed no one, talks to no congressmen/senators/assemblymen about illegal stuff. she was just fooling the ''fox news agents'' . did anyone hear that? ok, there goes journalism nairaland style.

did anyone hear that there was a provision in the HR 3200 in the house of representatives (section 246) that made it illegal for the illegal immigrants to benefit from the reform? ahaaa, journalism nairaland style.

what is acorn? what has acorn done in its lifetime(b/c i'm sure it is about to be killed) that made it live for a long time? has acorn done any good thing? how has acorn affected the poor masses it serves. nobody knows any good thing about acorn. all we know is the foul mouthed spasm of some of its workers. let's close down acorn.

and let's hope no secret camera enters some offices like those in congress, campaign offices, white house, supreme courts, churches, hospitals etc. only God knows what we may hear if such happens. anyway, person wey dem catch na im be theif.

all this is to disparage obama isnt it? well he is neither the founder nor the CEO of acorn. so fox news should try another style.

when bill richardson was nominated for commerce secretary, all hell let loose about some stuff he was involved in. he had to resign his nomination. and nobody talked about him again grin did anybody know of how his case ended? nobody cares again. how about blago? when it was abvious it had nothing to do with obama, it all ended. nobody cares now grin what of senator daschle? who is talking of bill ayers now? or pastor jeremiah wright? have their sins been wiped automatically?

weep not acorn, you dont need to fight a PR battle, just distance urself from obama and u'll be forgotten in a minute wink then u can go and sin no more angry

this is no good news for me, but i think it is biblical, him who had talents and didnt use it will have the talent taken away from him and given to another. with 60votes in the senate and 79 vote majority in the house and an overwhelming landslide in november, one would think the democrats will run the show, the way they were elected to do.

no way, the republicans seem to be running the show now. and they do it without republican votes. the spineless democrats have been so deluded about bipartisan bills that they have made so much concessions that the bill coming out from the ''gang of six'' in the senate looks more like a republican bill than a democrat bill. such that in a testimony in congress, a former chief of an insurance company said the bill may as well be called '' the insurance industry profit protection and enhancement act'' . . .

http://seminal.firedoglake.com/diary/8177

if the democrats cant use their overwhelming majority i dont see any reason why americans should vote them in again. i'll rather have republicans in power b/c they know how to use power.
Foreign AffairsRe: Obama Heckler Refuses To Apologize In The House by preselect(m): 9:24pm On Sep 15, 2009
@tayo,

the issue here is not if the congressman was right or not, but the issue is the unprecedented and shocking outburst directed at a US president in the joint section calling him a liar. bush may have be booed b4, boos are not statements and definitely not ''personified''. who did the booing? but here someone stepped out to defy a US president. i hope it doesnt repeat. and i'm not talking about obama, i'm talking about a future president b/c if nothing is done i see a democrat heckling a future republican president and saying ''afterall u guys did it to a democratic president''.

and just for the records, section 246 of HR 3200 states: . . "Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States."[/b]
