A 26-year-old woman has claimed that she has not eaten any food or drank any water for the past 16 years.
The lady identified as Muluwork Ambaw is from Jimma, Ethiopia.
According to her, even without eating or drinking for 16 years, she's in perfect health.
Muluwork Ambaw, a mother of one, states that her last meal was a lentil stew when she was just ten years old. Since then, she claims she has had no appetite for either food or water.
This extraordinary assertion has drawn the attention of medical professionals and curious viewers.
“I used to live with my family, and they asked me to eat breakfast and go to school. I said I had eaten but I was pretending. I had lost my appetite for water or for any food,” the woman recounted.
She has reportedly undergone numerous medical examinations in India, Qatar, and Dubai, yet none have provided an explanation for her condition.
UK-based YouTuber and Guinness World Record holder Drew Binsky recently visited Muluwork Ambaw to investigate her claims.
During his visit, Muluwork Ambaw reiterated that she has not eaten or drunk anything for the last 16 years.
She also shared that she enjoys cooking for her family, although she herself never feels the urge to eat.
“I cook as much as I want, but I have no appetite,” she added.
Medical tests conducted over a three-year period reportedly revealed no food, water, or waste products in her digestive tract, indicating that she neither eats nor produces waste.
“The only reason I go to the bathroom is when I need to wash my body. I haven’t used the toilet for 16 years,” Muluwork said.
Despite her astonishing claims, her mental health evaluations have come back normal, further deepening the mystery surrounding her condition.
When Muluwork Ambaw became pregnant, she reportedly received glucose infusions to supplement her body’s energy needs.
Unable to breastfeed due to a lack of milk production, her child was reportedly fed with artificial milk.
The woman attributes her unusual condition to divine intervention.
In her words;
This is the work of God.”
Addressing those who didn’t believe her and tagged her as a fraud, she invites them to come stay with her, assuring them that they will soon see she has no need to eat or drink.
The Federal Government of Nigeria is preparing to send its first citizen into space.
The Director General, National Space Research and Development Agency, Dr Mathew Adepoju disclosed this at a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday.
The FG signed the Memorandum of Understanding in a collaboration between NASRDA and The Space Exploration and Research Agency.
The DG noted that “This collaboration, which is coming to the country, marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s 25th anniversary of Space Exploration journey and opens new opportunities for scientific research and technological advancement.”
Chief Femi Esho, the Chairman of Evergreen Musical Company, has passed away at the age of 77.
He died after a brief illness.
The family confirmed his passing on Monday.
Esho, also known as Baba Esho or Baba Musician, was a significant figure in the Nigerian music industry.
He is also the Founder of the Evergreen Music Heritage Foundation.
Until his death, Baba Esho was a mentor to many in the Highlife music scene and played a vital role in preserving and promoting various Nigerian music genres like Highlife, Juju, Sakara, Apala, Afrobeat, and more.

A Nigerian man sparks conversation on social media as he gets hit by a speeding car seconds after allegedly hijacking a lady‘s phone, with the impact flinging him over.
This is revealed in a video that has generated thousands of likes and views on a popular social media platform.
The post was initially shared by a man identified as @47kasz on X, formerly Twitter, who alleged that the man who got hit by the car had hijacked a lady’s phone.
His statement: “I saw a video of a thief who hijacked a girl’s phone, but while trying to run, he got hit by a car, and I don’t think he survived it.”
He attached a video to the post to support his claim.
The video shows the tragic moment when the alleged phone hijacker was hit by a speeding vehicle shortly after the hijacking occurred.
It is, however, unconfirmed if he survived the impact.

This was confirmed by Head of Nigeria’s Medical Team for the 2024 Hajj, Dr Abubakar Adamu, in an interview with newsmen on Monday in Mina, Saudi Arabia.
According to reports, the pilgrim was on his way to Jamrate to perform the ritual of throwing stones when he collapsed and eventually died due to heatstroke.
It was gathered that the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah had around 11am, stopped pilgrims from proceeding to the Jamarat Bridge for the ritual of throwing stones due to the overbearing heat.
The head of the Nigerian Medical Team, Adamu said, "Even before the commencement of this year’s hajj operation, we have been educating and sensitising members of the medical team on how to prevent heatstroke that could arise from heatwave.”
Pilgrims have also been advised to use umbrellas to protect themselves from the heatwave sun.
The need for pilgrims to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day, even if they did not feel thirsty was also highlighted.
It would be recalled that Nigeria lost another two pilgrims from Kwara State currently participating in the ongoing Hajj operations in Saudi Arabia.
The death of the two Kwara pilgrims brought the number of Nigerian pilgrims who had died in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to 11.

On Monday, a tragic incident occurred in Akungba-Akoko, the administrative center of Akoko South West local government area in Ondo State when Modupe Ayandare, a final-year student of Adekunle Ajasin University, AAUA, reportedly took her own life, leading to sorrow and dismay in the community.
The deceased, who was the president of her department, Agronomy, was said to have taken her own life in an uncompleted building after attending a church vigil.
According to Noble Olaogbebikan, the Public Relations Officer of the institution’s student union, who disclosed the incident, Ayandare committed suicide in the early hours of Monday around 4 am at an uncompleted building that was close to the white garment church where she attended the vigil.
“We express in strong terms our dissatisfaction and agony with respect to the death of one of our students, Ayandare Modupe. A 500-level student of the Department of Agronomy (Agronomy Departmental President).
“The incident happened beside the church she attended around Sportless Villa. The law enforcement agency has already been informed, and all hands are on the desk to get to the root of the situation.”
Also, in another statement, the deceased’s department said: “We have lost one of our own, Comrade Modesty, who served as the President of the Department of Agronomy. Her passing, by suicide at Onireason Street’s permanent site, is a profound loss to us all.”
When contacted, the Ondo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed that the deceased left a suicide note in her bag before the incident.
According to the police spokesperson, detectives had commenced an investigation to unravel the development.
The sacrifical ram of the Chief Imam of the Mista Ali community in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Imam Abdulkadir, has been stolen.
The ram was stolen during a heavy downpour in the area on the eve of the Ed-el-Kabir.
An Imam in the community, Malam Haruna Yaqub, who disclosed this during the sermon, shortly after the two Raka’at prayers, condemned the incident, describing it as insensitive.
Yaqub urged the people never to engage in either stealing or any act of criminality, emphasizing that everyone will account for their actions in the here and hereafter.
He said, “The Ram of our Chief Imam, which he purposely bought to sacrifice, has stolen in the night. We are really shocked by the incident. We were surprised to hear this story. This means that people are not God fearing. It is scaring that people have gone to the extent of stealing ram meant for religious activity.
“It is high time people repented and took the path of Allah. It is not too late. People should stop committing bad things and act according to Allah’s commandments.”
The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has resolved to appoint a foreign Technical Adviser for the Super Eagles in coming weeks ahead of the start of 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in September.
This follows disappointing performance in the June qualifiers for 2026 World Cup where the team played 1-all draw with South Africa at home and lost 2-1 to Benin Republic away in Côte D’Ivoire.
The NFF is however silent on the fate of new Super Eagles Coach, Finidi George.

COMMUNIQUE OF THE MEETING OF NFF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE HELD IN HYBRID MODE ON WEDNESDAY, 12TH JUNE 2024
The Executive Committee of Nigeria Football Federation held a meeting on Wednesday, 12th June 2024 in hybrid mode to deliberate on important issues in Nigeria Football and resolved as follows:
1) The Executive Committee wholeheartedly apologized to Nigerians for the dismal output and subsequent very poor returns of the Senior Men National Team, Super Eagles, in four out of 10 matches in the ongoing qualification series for the 2026 FIFA World Cup finals, and pledged to work assiduously and put necessary measures in place to ensure a better-prepared squad ahead of the AFCON 2025 qualifiers in September this year and the resumption of the World Cup qualifiers in March 2025.
2) Further to (1) above, the Executive Committee resolved to employ an expatriate Technical Adviser for the Super Eagles in the coming weeks, ahead of the AFCON qualifiers and the remaining FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.
3) Still further to (1) above, the Committee resolved to beef up the NFF Technical Department with more qualitative hands. Equally, the Technical and Development Sub-Committee will be re-jigged with immediate effect.
4) Notwithstanding the challenges that attended the team’s preparations for the Day 3 and Day 4 games of the FIFA World Cup qualifying matches, owing to a 38-hour nationwide industrial action, the Board expressed displeasure with the poor attitude of some of the players to the National Assignment, and unanimously decided in favour of a more robust scouting programme of outstanding Nigeria-eligible players from across the four corners of the universe, who can add tremendous value to the nation’s flagship team.
5) The Executive Committee also resolved that a Stakeholders’ Forum be convened in a few weeks’ time, to deliberate on amendments to the current NFF Statutes, in conjunction with world football-governing body, FIFA.
6) While appreciating the fact that preparation of teams involved in the Olympic Games fall squarely within the purview of the Federal Ministry of Sports Development, the Executive Committee stated unequivocally that it will provide robust support, within the room allowed it, to the Senior Women National Team, Super Falcons, to adequately prepare for this year’s Women’s Olympic Football Tournament, taking place in France 24th July – 11th August.
6) In order to ensure an impressive performance of the U20 Women National Team, Falconets, at this year’s FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup finals in Colombia, 31st August – 22nd September, the Executive Committee mandated its Technical and Development Sub-Committee to diligently and swiftly consider the programme submitted by the Head Coach for the team’s preparation. The Board approved a two-phase camping for the team, with a four-week camping in Nigeria to be followed by a two-week final camping programme in Colombia before the commencement of the tournament.
7) Impressed by the performance of the U17 Women National Team, Flamingos, so far in their FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup African qualification series, the Executive Committee charged the Secretariat to ensure total readiness of the team for its final round, final leg encounter against their Liberian counterparts, scheduled for the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on Friday, 14th June 2024.

Multinational alcoholic beverage maker, Guinness has announced plans to leave the Nigerian market due to the losses it incurred and sell off its controlling shares to Singaporean conglomerate, Tolaram Group on Tuesday, June 11.
Guinness has joined a long list of multinationals, like GlaxoSmithKline and Microsoft, that have left Nigeria, citing the harsh economic climate in the country.
The brewery company recorded a staggering N61.9 billion loss after tax between July 2023 and March 2024, just a few months after Mr Tinubu floated the naira in an effort to unify the currency’s value on the official and parallel foreign exchange markets.
Guinness Nigeria's N61.7 billion loss after tax in Q3 was a 1,000 percent decrease from the N5.9 billion profit generated in the same period last year leading Diageo, Guinness’ parent company, to sell its 58.02 per cent majority stake to the Singaporean group.
“Under the terms of an agreement signed today, 11 June 2024, Tolaram will acquire Diageo’s 58.02% shareholding in Guinness Nigeria royalty agreements for the continued production of the Guinness brand and its locally manufactured Diageo ready-to-drink and mainstream spirits brands,” the company said in a statement Tuesday.
“The transaction is expected to be completed during fiscal 2025, subject to obtaining the requisite regulatory approvals in Nigeria,” said the statement signed by Abidemi Ademola, Guinness’s legal director.
Diageo “will retain ownership of the Guinness brand, which will be licensed to Guinness Nigeria for the long term.”
An Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, remanded a 44-year-old man, Raimi Saka on Monday, in a correctional centre for allegedly shooting and killing a she-goat owned by one Mr Babatunde Azeez in Ibadan Oyo State.
The Prosecution Counsel, Insp Toyin Ibrahim, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence on June 1, at about 9 p.m., at Ayegun, Oleyo area of Ibadan.
Ibrahim alleged that the defendant while armed with dangerous weapons killed one she-goat, property of one Mr Babatunde Azeez.
He said the offence contravened Section 1(2) of the Robbery and Firearms Laws of Nigeria, 2004
Saka, whose address was not provided, is charged with possession of dangerous weapons.
The Magistrate, Mrs Kausarat Ayofe did not take the plea of Saka for want of jurisdiction.
She directed the police to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.
A final year student of Electrical Electronics Department, Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic Ikot Osurua in Ikot Ekpene local government area of the state has been shot dead by armed robbery gang allegedly terrorizing the school environment.
It was gathered Sunday evening that the student who was identified simply as Saviour at press time was shot dead Saturday night while dragging his cellphone with armed robbers.
Newsmen also gathered that the incident occurred at about 8pm at Ikot uboh in Ikot Ekpene LGA, close to where the student was living before.
Reportedly, the armed robbers opened fire on their victim as he tried to raise the alarm. The Akwa Ibom state Police command confirmed the incident Sunday evening .
The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Timfon John simply said police command was aware of the unfortunate incident and have already swung into action.
“The perpetrators will be apprehended and made to face the full weight of the law. It is the determination of CP Waheed Ayilara to rid Akwa Ibom State of criminal elements. And this is not negotiable”, She assured
The Federal Government has issued a warning to hoteliers nationwide, cautioning them against accommodating teenagers and underage girls in their establishments, with the risk of facing sanctions if they fail to comply.
The Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, read the riot acts on Saturday at the ‘Unlock Training and Grants’ ceremony in Abuja.
The programme, which saw 200 young entrepreneurs receive N100m, was organised by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Education, Abiola Arogundade.
In January 2023, some students of Federal Government College in Ijanikin, Lagos, were caught absconding from school to lodge female classmates in hotels for sexual romp.
PUNCH Online reports that the students, all boarders, were said to have on different occasions scaled the school’s fence with their female counterparts and stayed out of school for days.
Findings by The PUNCH revealed that the students involved in the act were between the ages of 14 and 17.
Similarly, in April 2022, a video clip of a 15-year-old boy who was accosted while trying to lodge two girls and another guy in a hotel room went viral on social media.
The teenage schoolgirls, however, took to their heels when the voice behind the camera attempted to probe them on their mission.
But Kennedy-Ohanenye vowed that it would no longer be business as usual.
To further depict the seriousness of the Federal Government, the minister disclosed that hoteliers, especially in the Federal Capital Territory, have been directed to mount a signpost outside their hotels warning prospective clients to lodge any underage girls in their premises.
She also extended the riot acts to proprietors of schools across the country, warning that they should ensure no student is allowed to be bullied by either teachers or students.
She said, “Nigeria must be better. From 20th (June), we have directed hotels to put a sign outside from the Ministry of Women. No lodging of underage girls. (Otherwise) what happened in Niger State will be an understatement of what will happen in the FCT and I mean it.
“No more lodging of underage girls and no more bullying in schools.”
Continuing, the minister announced to journalists that the FG has commenced a probe into the distasteful viral clip of 10 Nigerian teenagers who were rescued from neighbòuring Ghana where they were trafficked for prostitution.
Three of the victims, ages between 15 and 16, were said to be from the same parents.
They were reportedly beaten, molested and forced into prostitution without pay.
While explaining their plights, the Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, said the girls were rescued after a tip-off by NIDO, the umbrella body of Nigerians living in Ghana.
Kennedy-Ohanenye, however, promised that the government would take decisive action on the matter next Monday.
“Women are suffering in this country. Today, we have talked about the need to allow the poor to breathe in this country.
“Meanwhile I am sure you saw the video circulating about our girls taken to Ghana. Did you see it? Very good. Action will start on Monday. You will hear about our action first thing on Monday morning. That is the first thing I am going to approach and see what we can do about it,” she fumed.

QS is a leading higher education analytics firm that publishes annual world university rankings, evaluating institutions based on academic excellence, reputation and global diversity.
The United States leads with 197 institutions featured in the rankings, followed by the United Kingdom with 90 and mainland China with 71.
For the 13th year in a row, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology holds the top spot. Imperial College London has climbed four places to secure second position, while the University of Oxford and Harvard University are in third and fourth place, respectively.
The University of Cambridge completes the top five.
Meanwhile, Nigeria is represented by two universities in the rankings, with the University of Ibadan and the University of Lagos both placing between 1100-1200.

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has announced that it will issue a standard version of the reintroduced national anthem to help people eager to learn it.
In a statement released on Tuesday, June 4, NOA spokesperson Paul Odenyi said Lanre Issa-Onilu, the agency's director-general, acted after several versions of the anthem appeared on social media.
Odenyi added that the agency’s community orientation and mobilisation officers (COMOS) also reported citizens’ confusion with the correct lyrics and instrumental and audio rendition of the anthem.
“Our COMOS, whom we ordered to learn the new national anthem, have come up with the feedback that many of our people are eager to learn and promote the new anthem but are confused about which of the ones they find online is the correct version,” the statement reads.
They have asked questions about which of the stanzas is the national prayer.
The director-general also assured that a decision on whether any of the stanzas will be adopted as national prayer will be taken after the necessary approval procedure.
He advised government agencies that seek to play the anthem at their functions to revert to the agency for the official copy of the new anthem.”
President Tinubu on May 29 signed a bill reintroducing the old national anthem.
Two lecturers of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State, Prof. Richard Kyaram and Dr. Hamza have been kidnapped.
It was gathered that Prof. Kyaram was abducted together with his son, Solomon, a 200-level student of the university.
The incident happened in GRA DustinMma at around 1 a.m. on Monday, June 3, 2024.
It was further gathered that the terrorists invaded the community with sophisticated weapons and shot sporadically.
The spokesman for the Katsina State Police Command, Abubakar Sadiq, confirmed the incident on Tuesday.
He said the command is working in collaboration with other security agencies to rescue the victims.
“On June 3, 2024, at about 0104 hrs, some suspected armed men, armed with dangerous weapons such as AK-47 rifles, attacked GRA quarters in Dutsinma LGA, Katsina State, where they kidnapped two members of staff and a student of the Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA),” the PPRO said.
“The Command, in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders, is intensifying efforts to ensure the unhurt rescue of the kidnapped victims and the arrest of the perpetrators of the dastardly act.”
