A Win For France Is A Win For Africa.

Russia 2018 has finally come to an end and Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah who has been a guest of FIFA for the entire duration of the tournament in furtherance of his duties as a member of the AFCON Organizing Committee has congratulated France for their sturdy and determined display, an innate characteristic of Africans, which culminated in being crowned World Champions yesterday.

According to the Dr. Ubah, France's triumph at the just concluded World Cup has shown that indeed, Africa has a wealth and depth of talents, which if unnearthed and properly harnessed, will see African countries taking centre stage at the FIFA world in the nearest future. This, according to him, is the ultimate goal of Africa Football Revolution Initiative (1 Family - 1 Footballer) as the projects aims to produce talents like Messi, Ronaldo, Modric, Neymar, Pogba, Mbappe and the likes.

"With our commitment to the donation of 1 Million Footballs to African children, through Africa Football Revolution Initiative project, we have high hopes that African countries will win the World Cup in no distant time".

"Thank you Russia and most especially, President Putin, for opening Russia to the World through football. You have indeed shown that you are a visionary and exceptional leader whose hospitableness and warmth afforded every country a first class experience of Russia and the beauty of the FIFA World Cup. A man was beaten to pulp in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital, after being descended upon by angry youths for stealing and raping women. The unnamed suspected rapist, who was apprehended by youths of Afaha Ube, is said to be a member of a 10-man gang that has been terrorizing the community, according to reports.

It was reported that members of the gang have raped five women, stolen over 10 Television sets and many phones including large amounts of money.

The suspect who was left in coma - was later taken to a nearby hospital by the police.

The 23-year-old student of Uganda Christian University, Lillian Rukundo who was Monday convicted before a court in Kampala, the country's capital city on ten counts of procuring and broadcasting pornographic material - on Friday changed her guilty plea to not guilty.

This is after Lillian who was awaiting a sentence from the magistrate together with the presiding chief magistrate Mary Babirye and the state prosecutor Emily Ninsiima, watched her sex video in court.

Ninsiima had asked the magistrate to first watch Rukundo's video before handing down an appropriate sentence.

However, immediately after watching the video and listening to the facts of the case, Rukundo opted to deny the charges.

On Monday 9th/July Rukundo had accepted that in 2017, she procured and uploaded a video of her self while masturbating and pushing a finger in and out of her private part with an intention of arousing sexual feelings of whoever would watch the video. She also pleaded guilty to broadcasting pictures of her naked body from the breasts to the knees.

Rukundo has now been remanded back to Luzira prison until 16th/July 2018 when she will be brought back to court for hearing after prosecution indicated that it has 4 witnesses to pin her.

According to the Anti-pornographic Act, if Rukundo is found guilty, she is likely to face a ten years imprisonment term or to be sentenced to pay a Court fine OF ugx 10million..

No fewer than five persons have been arrested by police in Ado Ekiti for allegedly distributing money to voters during the governorship election. They were immediately whisked away from the voting centre in front of Jonathan memorial School , Ajilosun area of the state capital.

This is coming as two governorship candidates of Mega Party Bisi Omoyeni and Accord Party, Abiodun Aluko raised alarm of vote-buying by political parties.

Omoyeni alleged that “some political parties had been buying votes by giving money to voters openly but said he was confident of winning despite this because he was the best of all the candidates.

The governorship Candidate of the Accord Party, Abiodun Aluko alleged “that the All Progressives Congress of openly distributing N5,000 cash to voters to influence them to vote for their candidate while APC leaders were paying N5000 per vote, the PDP leaders were paying N4,000 apart from the N3000 they paid to the accounts of civil servants and pensioners.

According to multiple reports, there was pandemonium today at one of the polling units in Ekiti state capital during the governorship election following the public harassment of some policemen. It was gathered that thugs stormed Mary lmmaculate, Oke ilado, polling unit 008 and ldofin, Father Blessing house, Ado LGA snatched and snatched some ballot boxes.

In one of the trending videos posted online, some youths can be seen pushing and harassing the armless police officers at their polling unit after the voting process was disrupted by thugs. They pushed the police officers mulitple times as they did nothing.

Meanwhile, the governorship candidates of the All Progressives Congress(APC) Kayode Fayemi and Peoples Democratic Party,, PDP, Prof Kokapo Olusola in the Ekiti election have expressed satisfaction in the process.

Reports across the state had it that the card readers malfunctioned in many voting centers across the state.

Two suspected Boko Haram terrorists fuel suppliers have been arrested by Troops of 159 Battalion deployed in Operation LAFIYA DOLE at Yusufari Local Government Area of Yobe State following a tip off. The two suspected fuel suppliers were arrested by troops while filling jerry cans at a gas station owned by a member of Yobe State House of Assembly.

Also, the station manager and attendants were arrested and are currently undergoing interrogation while the truck driver is still at large.

Efforts are being intensified by the troops to track down the truck driver.

Members of the public are reminded to report any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest security agency for prompt action.

Some group of cultists are said to be on the run after allegedly raping a girl multiple times during initiation into their group. The girl was allegedly raped in the process of being initiated in the cult group yesterday in Sapele area of Delta state.

Journalist Sapele Oghenek who shared the news reported that the cultists had their way with girl several times before letting her go after taking her into the bush for the initiation. The girl who couldn't contain the shame/guilt told her parents what happened before the authorities were alerted.

Report has it that the cultists believed to be responsible for the rape are currently on the run after their actions were revealed.

Girls being raped during cult initiations seem to have become a negative trend in most parts of the country.

Earlier this month, no fewer than 30 teenage girls in some Junior Secondary School in Enugu state were repeatedly gang-raped during and after initiation into some cult confraternities.

Following a tip-off, the police raided some schools in Enugu where they were confronted with the tragic situation and arrested many.

Adeyemi Alao, the boyfriend and suspected killer of Miss Khadijat Oluboyo, daughter of immediate past Deputy Governor of Ondo State has been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command, according to Radio Nigeria.

Khadijat, who was a final year student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, was found dead in her boyfriend’s house, Adeyemi, popularly known as Q.S.

Miss Khadijat who was declared missing for the past six days at the school, was found under the bed of her boyfriend in what was suspected to a money ritual by the boyfriend Adeyemi Alao popularly known as QS.

It was reported that an Herbalist that did the money ritual for Adeyemi who is currently at large, instructed him to keep the corpse for seven days but lucky ran out of the Abuja-based boyfriend when his younger brother met the decomposing body of Oluboyo’s daughter in mysterious manner and he later reported the incident to the police in Akure.

Confirming the arrest, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Joseph said the suspected killer was arrested by a team of detectives from the police Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

The PPRO said Adeyemi who was already in the police custody, had been cooperating with the police with relevant information on the circumstances that led to the death of Khadijat Oluboyo.

The police spokesman assured that the case would be thoroughly investigated with a view to establishing facts behind the death of the former deputy governor’s daughter at her boyfriend’s house.

A man has become a subject of mockery after pictures of him eating of the body of an unclad lady went viral. The man identified as Kenny Kunene, a DJ in Pretoria, South Africa decided to do the unusual during his birthday celebration at a packed night club.

DJ had planned to have his cake and eat it too, even thought there was no cake in sight.

Fans and patrons said that when they arrived they were all wondering where the cake was.

Instead the DJ turned out to be the cake when an unclad exotic dancer ate of his bare chest, and he returned the favour and had some tasty food of her body too.

The dancer later shocked everyone as she took off her panties and threw it at a group of male patrons.

According to reports, the woman didn’t get her panties back as male patrons had torn it apart, fighting for it.

A warning has been issued to women who fail to properly dispose their sanitary pads. According to a Facebook user, an old woman was caught as she she was picking used sanitary pads and pampers from a refuse dump.

It was revealed that the bags she was with - were loaded with pads and pampers before they were collected by a passerby and burnt to ashes after not being able to give a tangible reason what she does with them.

The woman was reportedly chased away from the area and warned not to return.

A fourteen-year-old girl simply identified as Julienne once had the fear of an early death hanging over her head after the unexpected death of her parents.

The teenage girl was suffering from a medical condition known as Encephalocele, a sac-like protrusion of the brain and the membranes that cover it through an opening in the skull, underwent a successful surgery to correct the condition.

Her elder brother who was excited after the successful surgery said; "If our parents were still alive today they would be doing everything they could to get Julienne the help she needed. They tried and tried but with no results. If they could see where she is now, they would be so happy and so proud!"

A car in the convoy of the Edo deputy governor, Mr Philip Shaibu, was involved in an accident yesterday evening while being driven from Asaba, Delta state capital. It was revealed that the minor accident happened at a checkpoint mounted by policemen along the Asaba- Benin highway.

Some of the car occupants reportedly sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Ebomhiana Musa, a staff at the Edo government house shared the news. He wrote;

"Convoy of Edo State Deputy Governor in minor auto crash: The spare car in the convoy of Edo State Deputy Governor was this evening involved in a crash on it's way from Asaba".

"It occurred shortly after Abudu, at a check point mounted by a team of policemen. The policemen had taken advantage of a bad sport in the ever busy Asaba- Benin Expressway to mount the check point which resulted in the crash".

"However, to the glory of God, no life was lost in the crash aside the minor injuries sustained by leader of the police team, an Inspector and the PA to the Deputy Governor".

"They were immediately taken to the UBTH for treatment and necessary checks".

A corps member has left his family, friends and colleagues in lament after his tragic demise. The deceased identified as Ahangba Victor Adegwa reportedly died on his way for his final clearance, just two days to his passing out from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

Until his death, he was a corper serving in Bayelsa state.

He was laid to rest at his hometown in Anyiin town, Logo local government area of Benue state.

His colleagues were there to support the family at the burial.

May his soul rest in peace.

This is very unfortunate. A man and his female partner have been killed in a fatal accident which reportedly happened early this morning in Rivers state.

The couple were said to be on a power bike before the accident occurred near Bori Camp (Aba road) in Rumukpakolosi, Port Harcourt, the state capital.

The couple died instantly according to reports as another person who was trying to cross the road was also hit and killed by the speeding motorcycle and his leg crushed in the process.

The three victims are yet to be identified as their pictures were shared online in a bid to locate their families and relations.
