There was massive jubilation earlier today in Kwale area of Delta state after a notorious cultist, armed robber and kidnapper was gunned down by security operatives. The entire community virtually came out in their numbers to celebrate the death of the hoodlum who had been terrorizing them.

According to reports, the kidnapper was allegedly responsible for the death of a man identified as 'Importer' (picture below).

His corpse the paraded for the people of Kwale to see and rejoice.

A police officer has committed suicide in after allegedly failing to pay compensation, to another officer whom he assaulted.

According to reports, the Zambian police officer identified as Sergent Charles Mukupa shot himself in the mouth.

“We recorded a case of suicide which happened at Mobile Unit Operational camp which is based in Sikanze police camp, involving our officer identified as Sergent Charles Mukupa who is reported to have had shot himself through the mouth,” Police Spokesperson Esther Mwaata Katongo said.

Katongo explained that Sergent Mukupa had been ordered to pay K35,000 (over N1 million) as compensation to a colleague whom he assaulted, but he only managed to raise K5,000.

She said the officer who had been assaulted by the deceased refused to get the K5,000 saying he wanted K35,000 to be paid at once.

“The matter at hand was that the same person who has taken his life had assaulted another officer, also a Sergent and then the matter was reported to Kabwata police. After the matter was reported, the same person who has taken his life wanted to have the matter settled outside court. He was told to pay something like K35,000 by another Sergent that he had assaulted. So he organized a K5,000 yesterday which he wanted to pay as down payment but this officer that he had assaulted refused to get the K5,000. He wanted the K35,000 to be paid at once,” she explained.

“In the early hours of today, between 05 hours and 06:30 hours, the officer was found dead in his room after shooting himself. The body has been taken to UTH mortuary,” said Katongo.

An airport staff is being celebrated online for his dedication to duty and honesty. According to Dayo Adedayo, the airport staff identified as Mr. Omoniyi helped a passenger retrieve a lost luggage and refused to accept gratification from the appreciative passenger.

The man has been hailed online due to the normal "extortion and begging" exhibited by staff and officials at most Nigerian airports.

The alleged killers of Auwal Misa Abbare and his 3-year-old son (Ibrahim) that were forced out from a commercial bus and brutally killed along Jalingo-Numan road - have been arrested by the soldiers.

The suspect identified as Mr Obadiah Jalo was apprehended along side two (2) others in possessions of an explosive, 4 Dane guns, several machetes, swords, bow, charms and arrows.

Late Auwal Misa Abbare was said to have been returning from Yola, the capital city of Adamawa state, after a Sallah visit to relatives before he was intercepted in the commercial bus, forced out and brutally killed at Kpasham village along Jalingo- Numan road in Taraba state on June 19, 2018..

The men are currently being interrogated by the military for more vital information.

Major activities were affected in Idongesit Nkanga area of Akwa Ibom state as heavy flood Thursday took over the Secretariat.

It was gathered that the flooding which disrupted workers activities, came immediately after the heavy rainfall of Thursday morning in Uyo, the capital city of Akwa Ibom state.

Those affected mostly by the flood disaster include: workers of the Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB as well as Ministry of Finance who struggled to gain access to their respective offices.

Commercial drivers were also victim as the water submerged a lot vehicles including tricyclists..

A 20-year-old who patrols Maiduguri, Borno state along with other security operatives to fight Boko Haram terrorists - has revealed he started hunting from the age of five. The hunter shared his story with Bits of Borno. Read below;

‘I am 20years old and have been a hunter for 15years. Since age 5, I’ve followed my father everywhere he went as a hunter. Now that I am old enough I venture out on my own with other hunters and we patrol day and night in neighboring towns around Maiduguri. Unfortunately our own village is too dangerous to infiltrate. During patrols we climb trees to sit and wait for the insurgents.

Most times we see them passing with herds of cattle they have stolen from villagers.

Yesterday it was 30 cows but in the past it’s been almost 500-1000 cows they steal from poor people in rural communities. If they’ve AK47s it is easy for them to steal whatever they want. I don’t have any fear really. This is all I’ve done my whole life; because this, protecting people for Allah’s sake. I have put my trust in God. I pray for good outcomes’

A man was attacked by suspected Fulani herdsmen who allegedly cut off his hand at Alonlu area of Nike, Enugu state. The victim identified as Mr Ogbonnaya Chidubeme who specializes in building houses and at the same time practices farming in Alonlu area of Nike.

He was allegedly butchered at his settlement by the men reported to be Fulani herdsmen on Friday evening.

The man narrated how his little child and wife escaped death if not for divine intervention because he was in a serious agony after his hand had already been cut off with machete.

He is currently recovering at the National Orthopedic Hospital Enugu .

An attempt to kidnap a Deputy Comptroller of Customs, her younger brother and her son was yesterday, 16/06/2018, thwarted by police detectives attached to Area-D-Command, Mushin, Lagos.

Acting on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Edgal Imohimi, the Area D Commander quickly assembled a decoy team which played along with a caller who had been calling Barrister Yisa Theophilus, the younger brother of the female officer.

The police team ran a quick check on the caller based on available information and came to conclusion that he was upto something sinister.

The team found out that aside being a notorious criminal in the area, the caller, later discovered to be one Yomi Odudare, was into land selling business (omonile). So the detectives called him to meet with them for a land deal and he agreed.

Yesterday, 16/06/18, being the day they agreed to meet, the detectives went along with the younger brother of the female officer Yisa Theophilus whom he had been calling frequently. They met the suspect at a project site in Ajah, Lagos, called Fara-park and he was promptly arrested.

During a brief interrogation at the scene of arrest, the suspect confessed that he has never met the lawyer nor any member of his family. He however said that the idea to kidnap Bar Yisa, his sister and her son came from one

Olugbenga Kehinde Ojo, a former Driver to the Deputy Comptroller's uncle. He added that the idea was to kidnap the lawyer and force him to lure out his sister, who is a Deputy Comptroller of Customs.

To make his story believable, he put a call to the said Olugbenga Kehinde Ojo. He told him to meet up with him, that he had successfully kidnapped the lawyer. He was happy and so he rushed to the venue, straight into the waiting arms of police detectives investigating the case.

Both suspects took the police to a shanty, surrounded by water, situate in Eleko, along Lekki/Epe expressway, Lagos, which they prepared as a hostage ground for their would be victims.

It was the agreement of both suspects that in order to avoid the mistakes of the notorious kidnapper, Evans, the moment any of their potential victims sights Olugbenga Ojo, a former employee of the Deputy Comptroller's uncle, that person must be killed because they all know him.

The CPLagos, wishes to use this opportunity to advise Lagosians to be wary of people who call them out for lucrative business deals as it might turn out to be a ploy to kidnap or harm them. He however assured that the Command will remain proactive in the fight against crimes and criminality in the state.

Some Nigerian football fans at the Kaliningrad Stadium in Russia - couldn't hide their disappointments with Super Eagles during the 0-2 loss to Croatia in their opening game of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. The fans had hoped that the Nigerian team will equalize Etebo's own goal - only to fall short again by conceding a penalty thereby throwing the fans into 'panic' mode as the country will now rely on a miracle to qualify from the group stage.

Nigeria had an unimpressive start to their 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign on Saturday in Kaliningrad with the loss to Croatia, thereby dropping to the bottom of Group D.

The result meant Croatia moved to the top of the table with three points, while Argentina and Iceland are second and third respectively after playing out a 1-1 draw earlier.

Nigeria will take on Iceland on June 22 and play their last Group D game against Argentina on June 26.

A female Nigerian soldier has died leaving her families, friends and colleagues in sorrow. The late soldier identified as Corporal Chabathiya .A. Sunama was said to have been involved in a fatal car accident along Port-Harcourt/Lagos expressway which saw her killed and her husband hospitalized.

According to relative who shared the sad news on Facebook, the friendly and cheerful combatant officer survived a bomb blast in Maiduguri, Borno state which affected her some years ago and also escaped a serious attack by unknown persons during her wedding in Port-Harcourt, Rivers state.

Her husband who was also involved in the accident is reported to have been hospitalized as we wish him speedy recovery.

May the soul of the female soldier rest in peace.

Residents were shocked after a man allegedly committed suicide in an uncompleted building in Ozoro community in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta state. According to reports, the man killed himself by hanging after his wife delivered a baby through operation, and was charged N15,000.

It was gathered that he didn't have the money hence he decided to kill himself, according to an online report.

His corpse has been evacuated from the building as police are set to launch an investigation into the matter.

A Nigerian man has been sentenced to 21 years for fatally stabbing a teenager in south London in 2017. The 20-year-old convict named Paul Akinnuoye, of Cobbetts Ride, Tunbridge Wells, was previously convicted of murder at the same court, on Thursday, 22 February, following the killing of 19-year-old Jordan Wright on 19 April 2017 on Hervey Road in Blackheath.

According to the Metropolitan Police, the college graduate, who was due to start an apprenticeship in the construction industry when he was attacked, died after being stabbed in the chest.

Police were originally called on 19 April 2017 to reports of a stabbing on Hervey Road, at the junction of Begbie Road, SE3.Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found Jordan badly wounded. He later died in hospital.

Although they were not friends, in the hours leading up to the assault, Jordan and Akinnuoye had both been part of a group chat on ‘WhatsApp’ which developed into an argument between the two, escalating to the point that they made arrangements to meet for a pre-arranged fight to settle their differences.

The group entered the park where a fight ensued, during which Jordan was fatally stabbed in the chest. Helped out of the park, the teenager collapsed at its entrance after saying, "I feel unwell". Local residents came to his assistance, administering first aid until the arrival of the LAS who took him to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he died.

Three other men who were arrested on suspicion of murder on 4 May 2017 and released under investigation, were all subsequently released with no further action.

More suspects have been arrested in connection with the April 5 Offa bank robberies during which nine policemen and 33 persons were killed. The wanted criminals were apprehended by the operatives of the Intelligence Response Team led by a Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, have arrested.

The additional suspects were apprehended in Kwara, Oyo and Kogi states and were assisting the police to track down other accomplices.

The latest suspects belonged to the Michael Adikwu’s gang, the dismissed policeman and an ex-convict. He actually led our men to the hideout of the men where they were arrested, according to reports.

The suspects, it was gathered, would soon be brought to Abuja and paraded before the media.

A Libyan returnee identified as Isioma Monye, Libya returnee has narrated his horrific ordeal after traveling to Libya to get free treatment for his leg injury.

'I was a vulcanizer selling tires in Nigeria before I left for Libya to treat a leg injury i got from a car accident. I decided to go to Libya to get treatment for my leg, after a friend who had previously travelled to Italy, told me that i could treat my leg there for free. That's what made me embark on the journey but it didn't favour me. I came back with the same leg injury, even worse. Today, i have lost everything and i dont know where to start from. But I thank God I came back alive.' -
