plaetton: Yeah, the Igbos remain the most self-centered people in Nigeria.
Just look at how many military coups that they have done in Nigeria to seize and monopolize political power. Just look at their born-to-rule syndrome. Just look at how many times they have annulled peaceful Democratic elections. Just look at how many inter tribal killings and genocides they have committed in Nigeria. Just look at them, they don't even venture out of their regions to work or invest. Look how many times they prefer to Kling to power and die in political office rather than resign for ill health. Look at them,. they neither educate nor train their teaming young populations for survival in a competitive world. When they are rich, they neither take care of their siblings nor relatives. They have no community spirit. They neither build schools, health care centers nor vocational centers for their communities. They just depend on government and government largesse.
Yes, Igbos are the most self-centered people in Nigeria. The Igbos also own majority of the oil wells in the Niger-Delta. |

Pray tell, was Awolowo in the same cohort with Bankole who already sold his soul to the devilish Ojukwu? And how was Awolowo's statement on allowing the Yoruba to secede if Ibo leaves equate to Awolowo working with biafra like Yissai implied? We can afford to wave off Yissai's stupidity because he's senile but you on the other hand is just a plain eediot! I sincerely hope you're not a Yoruba... If you are, then you shouldn't be posting on this forum. You're definitely dumber than dumb. Who is Bankole? Don't tell me you're referring to Victor Banjo? |

Now that others opposed to his ideology are rallying for the governor and presidient, hypocrites like you are shouting rented 1k crowd.
You ipobs are just noisy about your agitation, you are still in the minority in the south east. In the days to come, more Igbos who are opposed to Kanu will come out and distance themselves from him the way we've seen this week. Crowds like this will continue to expose your lies. Political campaigns will soon start in Anambra and ipob will suffer its biggest defeat there when the election is successfully conducted. Politics › Re: The Implication Of Biafran Nation - Ekweremadu Speaks by PreyingMantis(m): 7:13am On Jul 04, 2017 |
wirinet: With the current structure, Nigeria cannot survive without oil. I cannot say if Nigeria would have diversified their economy away from oil in 30years time, but if it continues to rely on crude for over 70% of its foreign earnings, then Nigeria would not survive. A good reference is Venezuela. The country is failing simply because oil revenues dried up.
Now answer the question, how will Biafra survive without oil revenue? How will you earn money to run your government and stabilize your economy ( including exchange rates) without petrodollars? Manufacturing and Agriculture.... Besides there is sufficient oil to keep the place running. The reason why Nigeria has stagnated is because we've refused to think outside the box. Everybody is fixated on oil revenue and there is chronic laziness pervading the entire polity. Biafra is a child of circumstance and will definitely pull through. Igbos are ingenious and that's the most important factor to consider. |

wirinet: How will Biafra survive without oil? That is a question Kanu or any of his supporters are yet to answer. Nigeria's oil reserves are expected to finish in less than 30 years. What happens after that? How will Nigeria survive? That is the question you should be asking yourself instead of immersing yourself deep in Biafran issues. I'm asking you now... How will Nigeria survive after oil? |

Curlieweed: Regarding your first point, I'll offer an analogy. You might have a high IQ and fail to graduate from university, one other hand someone with a lower IQ could be quite successful. However, it will be dishonest to suggest that a high intelligence is not a useful ingredient in academic success but in all cases motivation and focus are the other essential factors determining your success or otherwise. This is also the same with nations and homogeneity.
Homogeneity like so many social issues are relative. Human beings will always find reasons to discriminate between themselves. This reminds me of the Little Enders (who like eating their eggs from the little end) and the Big Enders ( who like eating their eggs from the big end) in Gulliver's Travels. However in some cases the issues become so fundamental that separation is the only option. The ties that bind any union must be stronger than those that separate. Every successful union is built around a core set of values or heritage. India may have a couple of thousand ethnic groups but they are bound by a key Hindu core on which the other identities ( be they Muslim, Buddhist or Sikh) are built around. The US may be diverse but they have a WASP core. 92% of Chinese are Han.
We don't have a core here. Rather than face this basic issue and recognize it as the huge problem it is, our nation builders decided to pretend that it doesn't actually exist. They decided to use empty high sounding words to cover up an obvious reality ("One Nigeria", "Unity in Diversity", "We are all brothers" . Because they failed to take a realistic appraisal of the situation, they decided to design a structure that failed to acknowledge the basic mental pictures we all carry in our heads (namely that the country is made up of Yorubaland, Igboland, Ijawland, Igalaland, Nupeland and so on). They decided to create arbitrary constituent units (states) that bear very little relationship to our ethnic reality and then to make things worse ran the whole thing from an over bloated centre because they felt that would enforce unity.
Some other nations (like Switzerland) took a more realistic appraisal of their situation and even though they have 4 official languages, were able to craft an appropriate system to recognize an obvious reality. On the other hand, the Nigerian "patriots" pretend that every thing is okay while chasing symptoms like leadership and corruption. Because they tarried, some people are now fed up and decided to take their own destiny in their own hands.
Regarding the issue of "Northern Domination", you're probably asking the wrong person since I come from an ethnic group that has been accused of either trying to or actually dominating others (right from the pre-independence era). We have apparently done this by "forcing" people to buy our fake goods thereby taking over all their markets or tricking them into selling their lands ( while refusing to sell ours even though we can sell our mothers for raw cash). That is why I am actually against ganging up or trying to isolate particular groups because of perceived domination. The key question you should be asking is if you are actually one nation and if you are why should someone not aspire to leadership in the said nation just because he happens to be Fulani. If you're not actually a nation, you have a more basic problem than the perceived domination by particular ethnic groups or maybe that is why people perceive the said domination. A round of applause! I salute... |

givbitcoin: Before the advent of colonialism, we had defeated all what is today known as Northern Nigeria. We conquered, to a large extent, the ancient Yoruba kingdom. We put Ibos to rout during their Biafra craze.
In all these, we said no victor, no vanquished. That is magnanimity. Tell me, where else in this whole world has a nation conquered another in a fair battle and still choose to dine on the same table with them.
And here, the Yoruba have contaminated some ethnic groups with their disloyalty and backstabbing and everybody is talking nonsense. Just like the once overly arrogant Tutsies of Rwanda. The decimation of the arrogant, overbearing and boastful Fulani will be televised. I can see it coming. |

While it is true that we have lots of languages in the North, like most places in the world tho, North should be seen as one because we are stronger together. This is the height of unity begging! The people say they're tired and want to be free from your demonic stranglehold. Why can't you accept that? |
