You either wait till you have enough money in your account before applying or apply with the little you have and hope for the best.

I am trying to complete my DS-160 form for my visa and it is asking for visa type. There is an option for Business/Tourism (B1/B2) and the Tourism/Medical Treatment (B2). Please which one is appropriate for someone going to give birth over there?
Also there is a place that asks this question: Has anyone ever filed an immigrant petition on your behalf with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services?. A cousin of mine about 3 years entered my name for the US visa lottery program. Although I didn't win, does this qualify for me to answer a yes for the question?

I had a girl so no circumcision but be careful with that, if you can get a Naija dr or a Jewish dr to do it better so you dint repeat it in Nigeria.

I paid fagbohoun 1920 then 300 additional for first visit and ultrasound

I paid oakbend 2150, I dint make any arrangement with pediatrician or anesthesiologist, pathology . Fagbohoun has already (confirm with him), I showed up at oakbend for the first time when I was in labor and yet already had all my details.

anesthesiologist was 850 pathology can't remember but less than 200 for my baby and me, pediatrician (nic/) was 606, it would have been 380 of my baby dint go to nicu for jaundice

I called the hospital and they told me that it is already included in the hospital fees if your baby is fine and does not require any further attention. Is it true please? Cos the quote they gave me contains one NICS fees like that and it is meant for well baby.

when she is going to the hospital all she needs to take is what she and the baby will wear back home, so while you are there, they will bring clothes, wipes, diapers, blanket for the baby, maternity pads, etc for the mom sowhen you are leaving the hospital, they will tell you to take what is left in you and your baby's tray.

the only thing they brought separately was the customized oakbend blanket, the engraved spoon and the diapers when i was leaving. ,

the hospital charge covers the initial vaccination given at birth, all others were done in naija. discharge consultation i used an external pediatrician, they will give you a booklet with names and address of pediatricians, you can call the one closest to you or the cheapest if that what you want

At oakbend too, it starts counting from when you give birth. This was particularly helpful for me cuz my baby went to nicu for jaundice and we ended up staying 3 nights but it counted as 2 nights as I gave birth at 1am

As for freebies, I got two dozen pre-mix similacs, storage containers for breastmilk, a carton of newborn pampers diaper, about 5/6 blankets, two packs of maternity sanitary towels, all the onesies my baby wore at the hospital, socks and cap, an engraved metal spoon, baby wipes and some coupons which I never redeemed cuz I dint have time

Oga justwise, i agree wt @PrinceAde, FavordB...... Imagine if from the start of this thread people have been sharing info through PMs, the thread would have been dead by now. It is agents (and maybe a few private doctors) that benefit from whatever popularity you are talking about.

And for hospitals reviewing prices because of popularity gotten from this thread, understand that different hospital increase prices based on different reasons. I would use MIHS as a case study cos i had my baby there during the MIHS boom days.

MIHS did not increase their price because of Nigerians influx. Infact, we Nigerians did not constitute up to 3% of their clientele base. MIHS is a county hospital supported by the state government. I understand the price increase was because their grants and allocation from the government was reduced and they had to rump up income to survive. Even before the Nigerians influx, they always had the resident and non-resident package. Yes, the increase for the non-resident pack was higher; and i think it is only logical to favor residents more (as residents pay the taxes used to develop the state); remember its a county hospital.

Honestly i benefitted immensely frm this thread o (about 8k dollars in savings is not beans money). I ended up having a successful VBAC too against my original plan of CS. I have even referred pple to this thread and its been the same testimony

Like someone mentioned, these hospitals couldn't care less about we on NLand plus they shouldn't be allowed to place adverts anyway (medical ethics). So ejo Sir, be flexible where you can.

Then please you guys don't eat me raw for this ooo but when your opinion is disagreed with, no need to sound so irritated about it. Have we not been sharing info here for ages? What we are against here is direct or indirect marketing which a lot people do here in the name of 'helping' people. If people want to market their business then they should contact the admin and discuss that.

Please don't advertise accommodation, transport etc on behalf of anybody.

@Princeadeade and Ritdan, I won’t advise you to book shadowbrooke except you have cash to burn. It’s a beautiful environment though. We pay like $2000 dollars per month for a 3 bedroom flat , which is not inclusive of utility bills and furnishings and we were properly ripped off by the Nigerian-American agent who thought we were adenuga’s children (story for another day). We had to pay 3 full months that we didn’t use. I and Genomi were supposed to be flat mates so she can bear witness. If you insist I will give their details though. Wifey had delays at verification point coz DS-160 had lagos as appointment venue while interview appointment was in Abuja. A lady took her details to sort of rectify this so guys ensure that your DS-160 submission point tallies with your interview to avoid issues. you may want to re-submit a new DS-160 with the tallying details if you changed appointment venues like my humble self


Note that questions may not follow same sequence as actual occurrence and they are just fragments of what occurred.guess you knew that already

Wife: Yes
VO:Do you have doctor's correspondence?
Wife: Yes, I have both doctor's and hospital correspondence and also I have a budget sheet outlining the expected epxenses
VO: okay, let me see
Wifey hands over all these documents to him
VO: so the doctor and hospital charges is same(ensure that you get a quote with email correspondence from hospital also and dont rely on doctors hospital estimate alone as this further boost your case)
VO screened the budget sheet a lot more than other docs

Wifey hands over my statement and notes that am the principal sponsor,she gives hers also

VO: okay ,give me a moment and he steps aside for a moment and comes back to inform her to pick her visa up

LEARNING

Prepare a very informative ,layed out and colorful budget sheet(this is a killer even at workplace).Also get an email correspondence from your hospital also and dont use your doctor's hospital estimate alone. Arm your self with both even though they come with same figures. it just helps your case so a VO would give you the super story that birthing fee is more than $100K. you show him direct correspondence and quote from hospital also. What i have see people show is Dr estimate of hospital which does not carry same weight when it comes from hospital direct correspondence. I also pinted separate pediatrician quotes so I had Dr,hospital and pediatrician separate quotes

Note that all these kung-fu listed above is nothing compared to God's grace as i had a blast week with God so I knew that anything I laid my hands on had to prosper but also note that God does not condone mediocrity also and expects us to be excellent so we have to do the works such as that listed above required to activate faith.

There was a guy that asked how he could get a closer visa appointment for his wife. You just need to monitor available dates 24/7 on the booking website, you will definitely find a closer and more suitable date. Anyone that has been refused in the last six months is not eligible for expedited appointment.
