I don't see Nigeria going any where...A region wanted to secede but the federal govt prevented them and there was a war...I begin to wonder when request to secede became a crime. Now, they posted something for their own memory and some people are here fighting them and I am sure those fighting them are from south too. This is why North we always rule this country. What I don't understand is why Yoruba and Igbo people hate one another so much. You guys don't like easterners and you still don't want them to secede and you laugh over their move to secede. I cry for this country. Why are we like this? You hate something and you don't want it to leave you. What wrong did Igbo people do ? That they wanted to secede from a marriage they think wouldn't favour them? Are they the only region to have done that in this world? And to hold a federal government sponsored troop for 3 years is not a small achievement. Hunger policy was initiated to make the war difficult for them. Now, we are united right? But what have we achieved so far? After many years of unity, we still import paper! Can't we just think or we just want to exhibit hatred? What have we gained fighting one another all in the name of tribalism? If we cant work, we separate, it's that simple. I can assure you guys that the people benefiting from this unity are our politicians. This country is backward because we agreed to live in fake unity. I love a united country but it should be based on mutual agreement and true love. I just don't understand all these. We hate one another and yet we laugh at those who wanted to secede, is that not an irony? If other regions had this zeal exhibited by easterners back then, I think this country would have gone far in terms of development. A region can be technically better than other regions, it's not a crime. If those guys could manufacture some things to help fight the war for more than 2 years, no matter how useless you think the equipment were, we should appreciate their efforts. This means that if they good environment and nurtured that same creativity, by now, they would have been manufacturing more sophisticated equipments. You laugh at Aba made products, it's simply because you wear the uniform of tribalism, because I don't see any reason for that. Aba guys make things out of nothing, they create things outside government supports. Think about it what they could have achieved if they had enabling environment. If we want to live together, we should truly love one another, we hate ourselves, South Africans hate us, white people hate us, Indians hate us, Arabs hate us, Asians hate us, even our brothers in African hate us not to talk of North Africans...this is why we are still like this! We hate one another and others hate us. We have so much but we lack almost everything. Our politicians continue to take advantage of this fault...this fake unity! I am not agitating for break up but we shouldn't condemn those who had the courage to make the first move. A lot would have been corrected back in 1960s, no wonder an Idian man told his friend that nothing can be brought from Nigeria to India and that we import everything. We know all these yet, we attack our selves, abusing people who saw that this marriage won't work far back in 1960. WTF!!... Well, this post will still not make sense to a lot of us because we hide in the uniform of tribalism. We are here fighting one another, while politicians and their children are busy living large. I don't see anything wrong with Igbo people celebrating their forefathers...If this unity had produced development and success, then, we can all laugh at them but the unity didn't produce any development, it's not a success. NYSC was even initiated to enhance unity, now, how many youths want to serve in other regions especially in the north? Can't we think? Cant we think? This country can not make any reasonable development because of tribalism, NEVER! Recently, UK govt carried out a true referendum to know if Scottish citizens wanted to secede from UK govt and it was done mutually and no condemnation. Why is Nigeria's own by fire by force? How many years of marriage with nothing to show for it? Logically, the people that are meant to be laughing are easterners. Do you know why? It's because the so called unity has not achieved anything for this country after decades of forced marriage. Before you start attacking me, ask your self if what I am lying! Your conscience will surely tell you the truth but you will still attack me because you hate truth. Since the marriage must hold, we should try and show love to one another, southerners should stop envying one another...there is no gain in hatred. Many years back, the soldiers were not out of the base the way they are now simply because we didnt have reasons to bring them out except in situations they came out to assist the police force. Now they are out, now that they have taken over some areas as a result of our security problems in the north, there have been many posts here on Nairaland portraying soldiers in dark light. And many people started having problems with them. Many people have condemned soldiers like never before lately. Wait until you give the kind of constitutional powers granted to police to OPC or any other and you will see their true colour bro. Their activities affect Nigerians the more compare to other forces in Nigeria. People are always having issues with policemen...just google 'police brutality in America' and read amazing ugly stories coming out from that part of the world. I did a research on that for a client recently. Funny enough, I never knew until I started the research. My South African friends are complaining too...or do you want to try the Chinese policemen? Bro, their duties make them easily offend citizens. This does not imply that other forces are better bro. If the military takes over the soceity today, I give you one month, you will complain even more. We are not meant to be arguing bro, it's a simple fact, some are bad and some are very kind and professional. Also, Nigerians are very stubborn bro. Seriously, people should understand Techno as a brand and what it stands for: Techno has tried for real! Techno forced many brands to consider producing phones for low and mid class earners. Techno gave me my first feel of a tablet device and I enjoyed it for years with good performce. Again, these phones are cheap, you cant buy a phone for 16K and expects it to work like 50K phone. We should be fair to Techno while judging them. Samsung has produced phones that many people called trash in other countries and even in Nigeria. No company is perfect. I have always appreciated Techno for always trying to produce quite a good phone at a good price. These phones can do most of the things you need to do with your smartphone. As for this new phone, hmmm it's really a good device. I know many people who glamoured for a 4G phone by Techno and now they have done that, why not appreciate it for that? Don't always look for something negative about something, you can always combine both and appreciate efforts. The device tried and the price will surely not be like the others. N69, 900, it is on the high side. The truth of the matter is that some people who started with Techo, some people who were down there and didnt know how to buy a smart phone becasue of money but were allowed to feel such smart devices by Techno, most of them have developed personal love for the brand even after their earnings have changed and gone up and are always ready to purchase their premium products. As for me, I use mid end tab but will always love Techno. I have special spot for it. I will be buying one of their top devices soon. It is brand that has done well for her maarket and company. Once again, I say; bravo to Techno for growing from mere chinese brand to quite a popular brand among her lovers. 3 Likes |

I said police men are bad, yes, I know...but that does not mean you should advise somebody who cares to join the force not to! Hay, not all of them are bad...Some are really sincere and hard working. Just as you're having bad experience with the force, some people are having fantastic experiences too. Police is like customer care services in Nigeria: some days, you meet some great staff with good customer care service while some days, you get to meet staff with bad customer service. My brother, not everyone dey curse police, hope you know! Don't descourage anyone from joining any force in Nigeria...if everyone should run away from the force, who then will get the job done? No matter how 'pathetic' you think they are, they are still important. Remember your sentence where you said, you wonder why people still join the force and PHCN since the public 'curse' them a lot! My brother, that statement is not right. Coming to your question bro: if they are that incompetent, top people in Nigeria will not be using them for security too, they would all gone for OPC! My brother, it's about how you carry your self. I have had many encounters with police men and I never had any problem with them and I never revealed my identity. Sometimes, the way we approach people counts a lot. We Nigerians are difficult. Egyptians are one of the most passionate supporters in the world. Nort Africans generally are really crazy about their local clubs. Zamalek SC, one of the biggest clubs in middle east has close to 5 million likes on their facebook page and more than 50 million supporters world wide. Zamalek is an Egyptian club and the club is in top form this season. It's the latest winner of the Egyptian league and a top contender of the CAF confederation cup this season. This past weekend, zamalek sc trashed Orlando Pirates of south Africa 4-1 in the Caf Confederation Cup to top group B. Pirate is a big club in Africa too and has millions of followers with more than a million like on fb to their bragging right! Pirates has millions of crazy fans in SA and southern Africa in general! The pre match and post match comments online were hot, especially on facebook. I was captured by this picture of a new born baby wearing a zamalek original jersey...these guys love their clubs, they support their clubs like a culture. I listened to a report on bbc Africa back then, on how a man stopped his daughter from marrying her boy friend because she was from zamalek family while her boy friend was from Ahly family. Zamalek and Ahly are top clubs in Egypt and their fans hardly follow same lane. I think we can learn from these guys and support our local clubs too. You see them using their clubs' top players and flag as display pics on their facebook profiles. Some of them will tell you that their great grand parents supported the club they are supporting now and as a result of this, nothing can make them stop supporting the club! This is what I call loyalty! The picture of this baby is really sweet and look at what's written on the jersey. I love their passion. Who will serve in the north? The north should make their region attractive enough to attract corps members! It is that simple...corps members are not the reason the region is that dangerous so, they shouldn't pay with their lives for the sake of unity...these are peoples' children and sweat and you want them to go suffer in the north for the sake of national service...and please, why are our top leaders not sending their children to the north? When was the last time you heard of a governor , senator, minister etc children serving not to talk of serving in the north. abeg, park this "selfless service" my ass for one corner joor ! Northerners will come to serve in the south and they will work with their minds at rest but southerners posted to north walk with fear, so wtf? Good move by NYSC... |
