DiBoss: The major difference na practical. Hochschule do more of practical university more theory. Hochschule prepare you for the Labor market cos they do more practical. Another major difference na PhD. Hochschule do not offer PhD. Guy the intensity of studying at uni no be joke...thats all am just trying to point out...i dey FH so i know the difference. moreover both do practical and research. |

Twallace: From what I have been reading in Quora.com and other blogs, making friends in Germany can be hard especially in the beginning. But let's not get discouraged. Instead, let's get each others back.
On this note, if you are going to Saxony state which includes :
Leipzig Dresden Cottbus Chemnitiz
Pm let's form a group and help each other settle well in Saxony. Other people going to East Germany:
Berlin Postdam Magdeburg Halle
can join the group as well.
Note: All these cities are not more than one hour from each other by autobahn lol..Germany is a great country, making friends is difficult but try get one german friend at least..also if you enter, you no go even get time to travel that one hour journey by autobahn..but i feel ur motivation. |

Rosicky7: Oga, I think say Hochschule na the same as university and Fachschule was the polytechnic kinda thing? Hochschule and Fachochschule re same but university is entirely different. Example Hochschule/Fachhochschule offer Bachelor of Engineering and University offer Bachelor of Science as degree. So their not the same thing.. |

happystep: If you applied to Jena by email write them for status of your admission because many have been rejected and admitted. Jena said the admission application is increasing beyond their expectations in their reply email to me and 40% is from Nigeria Uni-assist application included. So imaging, we are about to turn Germany to Nigeria campus. Uni do have percentage of Student they take from Africa per year, which means a lot if Nigerian students would be rejected... but good most applied to more than one school.. Goodluck though |

Sakasitay: It's good to know the reality before going to Germany, so that we will be prepared to see the worst: 1. Like not having a good job, or one at all. 2. Finding it hard to socialise or date. 3. Not communicating effectively with your German etc Getting Job is easy if you can speak and understand the German language. Germans re not open to strangers, so socializing is hard. But if you could have one German friend then you re good. Also you re only allowed to repeat a particular exam twice otherwise one would be Exmatrikulated. Life as a student is ok, only if you can find balance between your job and studies. Also German ladies no dey craze about African guys ooo( e hard to find German babe and them dey complicated) |
