MERCHANDISER:Why do you think so? I don't think Maduka ever had a chance. The guy has nothing to offer, he is just a social media politician. Also, politics aside; when you listen to the guy during interview you will deduce that he is just a noisemaker. No idea or plan to govern just unnecessary fanfare. |
I think NCC needs to review this recycling of numbers. The duration is too short considering a lot of online activities (especially USSD banking) are linked to phone numbers, it should take at least one or two year before a number recycled. |
martineverest:For traders it is very detrimental. They travel at night to reduce the number of days they will be away from their business/shop. They close their shops in the evening and join the buses at night, make their purchases at the market in the east the next day, join another bus at night and be in Lagos for business the following day. It had not been easy for them. They now have to pay for two seats, as the transport company only run on half capacity. However, most transport companies stick to the curfew, it is just a few not so popular ones that flout the rules. They all leave Lagos earlier (usually at 8pm) stop wherever the curfew meets them and continue by 4am. |

Stunning footage has revealed how more than 400 jetliners grounded by the coronavirus pandemic have been parked in the California desert. Pilot Bryan Keith was given access to fly his Grumman Tiger over the Southern California Logistics Airport in Victorville where the dry climate minimizes the risk of rust. Planes owned by Southwest, Delta, FedEx and other major commercial and cargo carriers sit idle under the desert sun after having their wings clipped by worldwide lockdowns. The Victorville facility in California is a decommissioned Air Force base. Last year, Southwest Airlines began storing its fleet of Boeing 737 Max jets there after the airplane was grounded following two fatal crashes. But now with demand for flights plummeting amid the coronavirus pandemic, and with thousands of aircraft grounded, airlines began to hit an unprecedented problem: finding a place to park them. The site has the capacity to store up to 500 planes, according to the company that manages it, and is thought to be nearing that. The dry climate of these storage facilities helps reduce the risk of rust, minimizing the maintenance required to bring the planes back into service when the pandemic nightmare ends. Alongside the Boeing 737 Max jets already being stored there, they are now joined by Boeing 747, 757, and 767, Airbus A310, A320 and McDonnell-Douglas MD-10 and MD-11 aircraft. Pilot Keith said: 'Wow, this is a scene. I wonder how many billions of dollars of jets are down there. 'I want to give a big shout out to the tower controllers at KVCV that were kind enough to let me do a flyover on the closed runway to see all the airplanes.' Taxiways, maintenance hangars and even runways at major airports around the world are being transformed into giant parking lots. In Frankfurt, Germany's biggest airport was a ghost town of silent airliners. Its northwest landing runway, including taxiways and bridges, was converted to an aircraft parking lot for Lufthansa, Condor and other airlines. Similar crowds of planes were parked at other major airports, including Hong Kong, Seoul, Berlin and Vienna as well as traditional desert parking lots, like this one in Victorville and Marana, Arizona. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8247971/Grounded-Stunning-footage-shows-400-passenger-jets-sitting-idle-California-desert.html

https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/26/health/number-of-cases-testing-data-intl/index.html We need to understand these data before we rush to comment; there are factors that affect those numbers. Ask yourself how many people have been tested in other countries, for instance, in the UK, if your symptoms are not severe you will not be tested but rather advised to self quarantine yourself. It is only South Korea that is aggressively testing it's citizens. NB: Not all cases will need hospitalization, some people get the virus and get well without testing to confirm they ever had it. |
The health care system is completely overwhelmed. |
Italian coronavirus patients who are 80 or older will not receive intensive care if the crisis worsens, under emergency plans being proposed in Turin. The plans drawn up by civil protection officials warn that 'it will be necessary to apply criteria for access to intensive treatment' if there are too many patients. The document, seen by the Daily Telegraph, proposes that these criteria 'must include age of less than 80'. Doctors have already described making life-or-death decisions about who can be treated and who may effectively be left to die. One doctor said a patient's fate 'is decided by age and by health conditions', adding: 'This is how it is in a war.' Prime minister Giuseppe Conte warned today that the country is entering its 'riskiest weeks' as he signalled 'we have not yet reached the peak'. A patient's other health conditions will also be taken into account when beds in intensive care are allocated, according to the planning document. Doctors will also consider whether they are likely to recover from resuscitation if they are taken to hospital in an emergency. 'Should it become impossible to provide all patients with intensive care services, it will be necessary to apply criteria for access to intensive treatment, which depends on the limited resources available,' the document says. Officials acknowledge that the plans will force hospitals to 'focus on those cases in which the cost/benefit ratio is more favorable for clinical treatment'. Italian medics have already described how hospitals have been 'overwhelmed' by the health crisis, with Italy suffering the worst outbreak in Europe. Turin is part of the Piedmont region, which neighbours Lombardy where the largest number of cases have been found. Many cases in Lombardy have been in small towns, but there have been fears of a major spread into Milan which would leave hospitals even further stretched. Lombardy governor Attilio Fontana said the situation in areas around Milan was only 'getting worse'. 'We are close to the point where we will no longer be able to resuscitate people because we will be out of intensive care unit beds,' Fontana told Sky TG24. Milan mayor Beppe Sala said he had managed to secure shipments of surgical masks from China to help cover a growing shortage. 'Milan has always had excellent relations with the main Chinese cities and I made a few phone calls over the past few days in search of masks,' the Milan mayor said. 'The first shipment arrived (Friday) and we will now distribute them to doctors, to our staff.' The European Commission also announced the imminent delivery of one million masks from Germany. Some medics have been working from makeshift facilities, with tents springing outside hospitals to allow patients to be tested for coronavirus. There are also fears that the poorer south of Italy would be unable to cope if the virus spread as rapidly as it has in the wealthy north. Italian premier Giuseppe Conte has warned that some people are continuing to travel south despite an unprecedented nationwide lockdown. 'Scientists tell us that we have not yet reached the peak. These are the riskiest weeks and we need the utmost precaution,' he said. 'Things like people leaving Milan on weekends to spend time with their family or at their residences in the south must absolutely stop. 'We can no longer afford behavioural errors,' Conte told the Corriere della Sera newspaper. The virus 'is our most important challenge of the past decades,' he said. Italy has confirmed 24,747 virus cases and 1,809 deaths in the worst outbreak outside China. The governor of Venice's Veneto region also called on 'everyone to remain in isolation' to avoid putting hospitals under further strain. 'If you do not follow the rules, the healthcare system will crash and I will have to impose a curfew,' Veneto governor Luca Zaia warned. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8116223/Italian-coronavirus-victims-80-not-receive-intensive-care.html?ito=social-facebook&fbclid=IwAR0h-h5tTjoe_jeZK0ZolVU4GVuvRJ19LmLHF_lSM5U7nJH43QnpsgkO_BU cc: lalasticala

It is funny how some people try to defend the impossible. See her response below;

MobilityExpress:I couldn't have said it better. I visited Ikorodu for the first time last month, when I noticed there was no demarcation on that highway, I said to myself; what were they thinking? |
I am surprised a lot of people here don't know about this. Sterling Bank started this a long time ago with Spectra (not sure of the spelling), and you don't even need to own an account with them. Currently, almost all banks offer this service, they woke up after they saw the money smaller fintech were making. It is a function of the average balance in your account over a period of time. This is the beauty of BVN. |
Southboy:You have tried bro, but it can't fly at that price. |

Today, Boeing announced that it has completed the software update to its 737 Max planes. The update is meant to correct the software flaws that contributed to the Lion Air and Air Ethiopia crashes that killed 346 people in total. The update was expected in April, but Boeing needed extra time to guarantee that it had "identified and appropriately addressed" the problems that led to those crashes. The FAA tentatively approved the updates in March, but the software still needs to undergo FAA testing in order to receive certification. At the moment, Boeing is providing the FAA with additional information, including details on how pilots interact with the airplane controls and displays in different flight scenarios. "We're committed to providing the FAA and global regulators all the information they need, and to getting it right," Boeing's CEO Dennis Muilenburg said in a statement. As previously reported, the updated anti-stall Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System (MCAS) will compare data from both of the plane's angle-of-attack sensors, rather than just one. If there's a discrepancy of 5.5 degrees or more, the system won't kick in. And, in the event of an incident, crews will be able to counteract the system if necessary. Boeing says it has flown the 737 Max with the updated MCAS software for more than 360 hours on 207 test flights. It also conducted simulator testing, and it will participate in a series of global customer conferences before the planes are cleared for flight. https://www.engadget.com/2019/05/16/737-max-update/ cc: lalasticalala, justwise |
Nice read. A shift from the regular nonsense that have always graced the front page. |
Nevee:You cannot completely restrict heavy duty vehicles to night movement, some of them haul perishable goods. This particular case happened at 5am, if they can't move at 5, I wonder when they can. This accident was caused by bad road. |
This is pathetic. The traffic on that road will be on a new level today. Ambode is the worst thing to happen to Lagos. The amount of properties that have been lost on that spot in last 4 months is alarming, there is always a case of fallen heavy duty vehicle every 3 days. Ambode have brought so much hardship to Lagosians with his unending road construction. |
israelmao:Forget politics for once. Ambode's performance has been terrible. Tinubu is milking the state also, he only after his pocket. |
Lagosian have never had it this bad. Ambode have destroyed the little existing motor able roads in the name of construction without completion in sight. Move around Lagos it's same sorry, f Oshodi- Iyana-Ipaja, Airport and many others, just suffering humans. Ambode have not done 'jack', he has been busy constructing lay-by and bus shelters everywhere. |
cmoney22222:I have replied. |
cmoney22222:You are supposed to pay 20k in any of the banks inside the school (should be possible online I guess). Then you take your receipt to admin block for confirmation/verification. After that, submit the following; a request letter, photocopy of alumni receipt, transcript payment receipt and Notification of result/Certificate to transcript/record office. Note that the offices are different but on the same block for ND and HND. |
cmoney22222:To be clear, I think you mentioned FEDPONEK sometime. Is it the Nekede transcript you paid for online? If so, you are yet to complete the process. |
LeJeun3, ejoor update.... Guys are waiting |
pendulumdarky: aylipple:I understand you both. If you check clearly, I only wanted the 'PR guy' to understand why people were pointing at the TV. I know it's expensive and I never made reference to the price. Enough said, I rest my case. |
aylipple:Not that I am interested in the personal life of celebrities, but to correct your assertion. Bang & Olufsen BeoVision 4 103-inch Plasma TV or not thats a 2009 TV, from my stand point, it's a very old TV. Long story short, no recent TV will spot a bezel like that, this is what a recent Bang & Olufsen looks like...
