Visited this thread a month ago, came in today and am surprised that this issue is yet to be resolved. You guys should stop going back and forth without result. Something similar happened on cartalk 2 weeks ago, I can bet you that you have lost over 10 prospective deals since this complain have been coming up.

Acunon if you can fix the line issue, please fix it ASAP, if not try and get an EQUIVALENT replacement and send to him.

Ekene... what did you say. That must be a long time ago. When it comes to fixing of fault, the drivers and conductors do fix faults by themselves, but don't forget that fault get level oo.

OP sorry you had to go through that. I have seen people say try company A or B, the truth is that they are all the same, you were just unlucky. Let me state a few points here;

1. The major problem with these companies is they are managed by mostly uneducated people and the few educated don't make enough effort to make things work better. I can remember when the son of Young shall grow tried to rebrand and reposition things, he even brought Tuface Idiba as an ambassador, at the end, same story.

2. Every company has a route where they have their customer base and they do better there.

Also in some routes there are dedicated buses for traders, if you are fortunate to join those ones, good for you.

3. The condition of roads in this country is not helping matters at all.

4. Due to the economic situation no company (as far as I know) have purchased new buses (excluding these chinco) in the last one year, so there are buses they ought to remove from their fleet, that are still being managed.

5. The annoying part is that they don't apologize even when you complain online because they don't have any official online presence. You can only get a response from ABC transport, the rest OYO is your case.

Bros stop typing what you know nothing about. All terminals have routes they cover and there are good buses that ply each routes. Stop acting like an insider while miss-informing people.

You also said only YSG buy new Irizar bus, please stop it, all these major transport companies purchase their bus brand new be it G7, Irizar or chinco.

May God save Imo state from the hands of Okorocha, this is the same scam he did when he claim to have given out 1 million naira to youth to create millionaires in Imo. In reality the money was only a personal business- a loan he gave in collaboration with a micro finance bank at a very stupid rest.
This time around he is 'sharing' cars that are obsolete at high cost.

This government and poor planning, putting people in suffering and hardship in the name of road construction. With proper timing and planning the stress people pass through on these road will be minimal.
People now leave VI at 6pm and get to Iyana-Ipaja at 11pm and somethings 12am, and someone is telling me about it being for my benefit. Why start that road in the middle of the raining season, the construction have taken over the middle lanes of both side leaving users with the remaining lanes that are not in excellent shape. When the rain feels some portion of the road thereby reducing the available lanes more, the rest is history. People stand at Oshodi without getting bus to their destination because all the buses are stuck in traffic along Iyana-Ipaja.
The annoying part is that they will drag this construction till another raining season and the suffering continues. Everyone who is sincere to himself knows that this can be done better.

Do we even talk about the Lagos Badagry expressway that is close to decade without nearing completion. The construction company will touch a portion of Alakija and leave it and jump to Trade-fare, after sometime they move to Agric, what kind of work is that. No planning, no management. It annoys me when people make excuses for the government of Lagos on things like this, right now they are the pace setters for other states if they continue doing things like this, what do you expect from others that don't even think.

Exactly. The site may be an hybrid site. A hybrid site is designed to run on generator for some hours then on battery for some hours. When the site is on battery the generator goes off until the battery is discharged to some level. That is assuming there is no public power supply to the site. So our dear whistle blower may just be a nosy neighbor who doesn't have an idea what he is talking about.

Every contractor have a way of monitoring diesel consumption at every site. That site might be a dump (where he keeps diesel he will supply to other sites), so he might not be stealing diesel at stated.

stay in that axis, what happened is really pathetic, the fact that the same thing happened just a month ago in which the police chief promised to beef up security on that road to ensure there is no repeat yet the promise was not kept.

However, I can confirm that the driver did not die, he sustained gunshot injuries to his hands, Infact he just left the hospital and I saw him eating at one restaurant.
Sadly? two people were killed; including a pregnant woman.

IMO, the only remedy to the incessant robbery on that road (From Okada Junction - Benin) is the deployment of Army Patrol just as was done to Benin - Sapele - Warri Road.
The Police is highly ineffective against those heartless robbers.

MainOne, West African connectivity and data solutions company, says that it has experienced a fault on its submarine cable system.

According to a statement by the company, the fault, which is the first of its kind in seven years of its existence, caused disruptions in services to their international connectivity customers.

“Early in the morning of Sunday, June 18th, 2017, we experienced a fault on our submarine cable system, 3000KM offshore Portugal. The outage, the first of its kind in 7 years since our cable system came into operations, has caused disruptions in service to our international connectivity customers in West Africa.

“Supported by our cable maintenance arrangement with the Atlantic Cable Maintenance & Repair Agreement (ACMA), we immediately mobilized a repair vessel from France early Monday morning to pick up the necessary spares and personnel to recover the affected sections of the submarine cable in the Atlantic Ocean and effect repairs. The current estimated time for the repairs may be up to 14 days.

“Whilst this is an event of Force Majeure, being beyond our control in the ordinary and normal course of business, we have in the interim, made available existing restoration capacity and have secured additional capacity to offer temporary relief to our customers, where feasible.”

MainOne’s customers include internet service providers (ISPs), numerous networks and content providers.

Technology Times reports that the impact of the cable fault was most felt on Monday morning as affected service providers had to switch to alternative cables.

MainOne offers high capacity transmission to wholesales customers to power data services for internet access through regular online services as well as 3G and 4G networks.

UPDATE: The commissioner of police and an army colonel arrived the scene at about 11am after several unproductive efforts by lower raking officers to convince the drivers to clear the road. They promised that they will provide patrol teams to start manning the area, and such occurrence will be history henceforth.

Okada expressway/ Ogbomudia (not sure of the spelling) farm road have been blocked since 2am as Young Shall Grow Bus conductor was shot dead. Luxury buses have blocked the road and vowed not to clear until the governor comes.

The menace of arm robbery have become too frequent on the road without a challenge from security operative.

For those traveling this morning, you have to brace up because if the governor does not show up or send someone there, you might be spending the whole day on the road.

This is so annoying, some people will even buy it with pride and brag about it.
It goes beyond this, every Nigerian should be conscious of the origin of what they buy (especially things we can produce) because it directly or indirectly affects the economy, not just to sit down and complain.

Even those that buy Oral B toothpaste are killing the economy, something that can be easily made here, our agencies allow P&G import that nonsense and sell to us when we have even better options.

Did the reporter get to the scene or they sat at home and cooked the report.
The bus was never going to Maza-maza and does not get there, the bus was headed to Alafia. I guess they assumed.
He wrote that someone joined the bus from Enugu- how? A bus that takes off from Aba picking someone in Enugu.

If this was a Toyota Hiace the fatality would have been higher. In all, thank God.

Bros talk wetin you know. Night travel have been since time immemorial, this might not be sleep, it could have happened anytime of the day. There are too many possibilities, so don't conclude. Because you sleep on your bed does not mean everyone does. Some of these guys have been doing this that their bodies are on alert at night while they rest during the day by default.

I hope this is true because everything that is ban in this country still find their way in through land borders the only difference is that the so called duty goes into the pocket of custom officers. There a community in Badagry where customs and smugglers do big transactions between midnight and 4am for all kinds of goods. Even early in the morning we all see vehicles with badly adjusted suspension to accommodate frozen foods and other goods moving God help us.
