Nigeria, with reported cases of over 153,000 deaths from malaria in 2019 and 95,000 deaths in 2018, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), showed that malaria is deadlier than the Covid-19 which has killed barely 400 people in the country and close to 400,000 globally, forcing countries to shut down all economic activities at a time. In Africa alone, over 1,000,000 people die from malaria every year. However, prior to this time, European explorers and missionaries who came to Africa at one time or the other had full dose of malaria pandemic as at that time until modern day drugs were discovered for it. Yet, death still continues unabated even as we live our normal day life till now. Simply because people were left with no other choice, but to manage it even from time immemorial.
I am very sure if this infection had first happened in Africa, the uproar and attention received from world all over would not have been the same level. With what God has blessed Africans with, we would have managed, curtailed and lived with it. From the findings, I want to say that Covid-19 is never a death sentence as we were made to believe. In fact, its symptoms are akin to other fever that surround us in Nigeria, be ye malaria, yellow, typhoid, lassar, pneumonia and etc.
Moreover, few days ago, there was a misgiving on the net that cure has been found for this pandemic based on the study carried out on some chronic covid-19 patients in England with the administration of Dexamethasone drug (Xasten) mostly called Maawu drug among the Yoruba populace. I want us to get it right, Dexa (xasten) is not the cure for covid-19. Usage of it especially for chronic patients will only allow/permit easy passage/ventilation of oxygen/ carbon dioxide in and out of the lung for better breathing to their comfort for quick recovery. In this case, use of ventilator become useless because there is higher rate of recovery of patients using the drug coupled with administration of other essential drugs like malaria drug, paracetamol, vit-c,( ginger, garlic, black seed, honey, onion - should me mashed together to be licked at regular interval) and intakes of fruits.
However, Medical personnel may not agree with my assertion especially when I said ‘’Antidote’’. Truth will not say we should not say its own. More than 75% of us at one time or the other had fever of different kinds and we never deemed it necessary to go to the hospital to take modern drugs and to be admitted. We made use of herbal concoction (AGBO) that surround us either prepared by us/relatives or purchased from hawkers. A large numbers of us were healed and delivered. Although, a very few people died due to one complication or the other, just like any other ailments. The bottom line is, we manage other ailments as we all live with it and our daily lives continue. Take it or leave it, I think this is the time for us to also take the horns by the bull by living with it and manage it like others. Government should unlock us and change our orientation through same media that we do don’t need to wait until WHO certify the vaccine/drug before we live our normal life. We should give it a trial with the adult age while the younger ones in primary schools down the line should be left out for experimentation and let compare results. We can’t just continue like this. Time waits for no one. COVID-19 is not dreadful, it has cure within our finger tip.
Covid-19 is here to stay with us just like every other ailments.There is no possible vaccine in sight for now. We can't continue to ground all sectors.Preventive measures should be given while people take responsibility for their health for applying the antidote expressed above.

Actually, they may be right to some extent because I as a person, i have been on that same drug for the past 10 years (xasten). I use it for cattar and pain on the joints. It works wonders.
