Toks2008:Nice one. Many young ladies see the handwriting boldly inscribed on the wall but choose to ignore it. It works for quite a few though as I dated my husband for long before we eventually put a ring on it. Ladies! stop selling yourselves cheaply to men cos you will be the bigger losers. For the ones that can discern, the signs are usually there. If you notice he has little or nothing to offer you, then don't stay a second longer. Even if you must date, set a standard. He may be the best thing to have happened to you just like you are the best thing to happen to him. Who risks abortion all the time? Who risks damage to the womb? Who risks infertility? Who risks death? Who risks single parenthood? Who risks societal rejection? Who risks living single @ 40+? All the odds are set against the woman. If he is responsible enough, all it will cost him is a few wads. A word, they say is enough for the wise. |
wiringdpt:With or without make up, Fathia is a beauty to behold. Monalisa too isn't bad but Fathia rocks. |
Toks2008:Have you forgotten the possibility of a change in the body structure of your preferred B E T? A "lepa" today may turn "orobo" tomorrow. Many young women are not disciplined enough to manage their body mass as pregnancy and motherhood sets in. I think faithfulness in marriage should be more about your strong resolve not to cheat and less of how sexy or unsexy your wife is looking. One more thing Toks, I'll prefer you stop responding to Mr Cum4something, please. |
There is always a first time at anything. Mine was thinking carrying ordinary soap case in my hand luggage wouldn't be anything as my sister who is a pro has already warned me about any liquid substance but they still insisted I re-pa ck my bag. My sister was furious as she gave me the" I no tell u" look. |
Editor1:Yeah! representing Okun region plus Okun girls can make you forget your name. |
Welrez:Sure. The English language is an amazing language and I wish people won't make mistakes, especially the little common ones while speaking or writing it. Whether it is the Standard British English (SBE) or the Nigerian English, there's no excuse for errors. For intelligibility if you have to communicate an idea or thought to another person, you may do a code switch from the SBE to pidgin not you murdering the language. Of course the rules are not difficult, one can make reference to primary school text books to be sure. Don't be too proud to explore topics like: Articles, Subject and Verb agreement, Gerund and Infinitive, Direct and Indirect Speech, Expressing Wishes and Supposition, Active and Passive Voice, Verbs and tenses etc. Beyond that, there are other essentials to develop your vocabulary (the number of words in your Kitty) like: Synonyms, Antonyms, Homonyms and Homophones, Gender, Similes, Metaphors, Prefixes and Suffixes etc. If you are the type that cares about semantic analysis, then maybe you will spare a glance for the Phrases and Clauses -Adjectival Clause, Relative Clause, Noun Phrase, Adverbial Clause, Subordinate and Main Clause etc but this may be a bit advanced for anyone who just wants to speak the language correctly. At any rate the dictionary is also always handy to help with spellings, classification of words into Parts of Speech, usage whether derogatory or formal, pronunciation if you have an understanding of the speech sounds and more. Best wishes! |
Jerryolumide:For me too it's something like that. I see things as if in a trance, not necessarily in a dream and they come to pass. The accuracy of it scares even me so much I had to wish it away cos am afraid people may tag me a witch or some freak until a friend recently convinced me it's a gift, I used to hate myself for it. Now I don't begrudge myself for it cos I didn't create myself but I still don't want it. I think it's only God that should see into the future. |
LastProphet:You're not the only one who thinks so. He will lead America to destruction not with the recently adopted Health care bill passed into law, not forgetting the gay rights and questionable alliances with some world power. The doomsday is nearer than imagined. |
This is absolutely incredible if it is true. Please don't think of any action suicidal at all cos by that you gain nothing. Live for your baby, focus on your career to discourage depression, stay away as far as you can from that family, move closer to God. For many wounds, time does the magic. That family is evil pray your child does not grow up wit their traits. |
Aisha95:Did you say only a man with a good heart? You're not so different from him. Maybe you meant to say only a man with a stupid heart. What happened to her rich man? Has he suddenly gone poor? What guarantees you she won't run away again when d chips are down? Smh..........m for some ladies. |
So sad. Pray by some twist of fate he is found alive. To think I ran away from road traveling and flew into Lagos 2 days ago and now this.....Truly one is safe only if God keeps you safe. |
Dem Neva see anything Dem Don dey para. How Dem go pay back for all the xenophobic madness? Dem dey craze! |

VenusBetty:For this wonderful hymn above, as am adding my like, the tears are dropping again. That is what this hymn does to me. I am always awe inspired. The conviction of the composer is strong and it motivates me. |
I am in love with many of them but these are my absolute favourites:
-What a friend we have in Jesus
-I need the oh I need thee
-It is well with my soul
-Master the tempest is raging
-Praise to the Lord the Almighty
-Higher ground
-Its not an easy road
-On a hill far away
-To God be the glory
-It pays to serve Jesus etc |
Sorry about your loss, Married, happily. |
Unless we want to look away, this problem is very rife in our society. Personally, I am married but I av a friend am worried for, she is way older than me, she has just finished her masters program which in my opinion makes it harder to get a suitor. Men are always intimidated by successful women. Meanwhile, she had to return to school after waiting endlessly for a man who isn't forthcoming. Many ladies are unwilling to start from the scratch with any man, always looking for readymade. It doesn't work that way most of the time. Everybody cannot marry rich husbands. Also, even financially stable guys are reluctant to settle down, always looking for flimsy excuses to avoid marriage- you know - Casanova things. May God help us. |
OP, please do not deceive the yet-to-be married on nairaland. There's nothing like pure bliss in relationships. Mine is on Level 3. |
mooyewhy:Ookun O, my town boy. |
repogirl:I beg to differ. This woman standing and her husband, Rev Tommy Titcombe, with Walter Gowans and Thomas Kent are cult figures as far as Egbe town and ECWA (Evangelical Church Winning All) history is concerned. They are missionaries who gave their all to God's work. They'll never enslave anyone. The ECWA Egbe hospital is still standing and boasts of the latest hospital equipment, the most recent surgical equipment the missionaries shipped in, Jonathan's government wanted to divert to national hospital, Abuja but for vehement protests. I was at the hospital last year, renovation was ongoing and I was awed by what I saw. Theirs is a complete team, white doctors consulting, whitemen came with everything they needed, even little things as nails or even door hinges are imported. The plumber, bricklayer, Carpenter etc are all white-men and they were all so,so happy doing their mission work. This legacy was left by the husband of that woman standing and the other missionaries. I hear that back then, they fly to Egbe with tonnes of drugs and clothes for locals. My mum is a direct beneficiary, they are responsible for her schooling. I can go on and on cos I don't know where OP got his story from. People won't verify stuff before they dump it on nairalànd. |
temitemi1:Seriously? Wow! Are you from Egbe? |
Well good list for enlightenment but I just got an itel it 1503 and it's been working fine. Well am watching. |
Dharniel:Shikena! Pple shd learn to paddle their own canoe. Don't eva be a reason y any marriage wil break down. Who knows, the wife may discover by herself or ur brother may stop being adulterous naturally nd everythin will fall in place without ur interference. Be wise brother, I once caught my own sister's husby cheating on her, I neva told her. They are big enough to sort themselves out. |
DrSage:I bet u didn't think he went too far by bringing a girlfriend to his matrimonial home, Haba! When the wife is around! I doubt If I'l av the patience to let the wh*ore go unscathed. I will teach her how not to be an intruder. |
sammyyoung2:The days of: Arelu, Yanpon-Yanrin, Koto Orun, Spark the Killer, Ogidan, Omo Araye le, Awada Keri-Keri, Bata Wahala etc Those days....na me and Teli o! |
Jascon4:I kno dt naturally I dont av comprehension shortcomings bt even at that, I quickly went to check ur original post to ascertain whether there is a faint mention of 'some ladies lodged by men' bt I didn't see any. So I pray you, Mr over-syllabus renounce ur claim cos in ur original post u said, 'ladies!' No specifications. I won't renege on wat I said earlier- U must av a small mind. I do volunteer work for NGOs who lodge me and my team in hotels in and outside Lagos for weeks, I smile at the thought that those honourable pple I work with may all be prostitutes. Jasi konga, am not usually rude on a public forum such as dis, so I beg u don't bother to reply to this. Thanx! |
