The tricky part here is upward review of Salary structure wasnt negotiated by the labour and FG, simply the National minimum wage was negotiated.

You seem to be knowledgeable in this matter but you fail to know that all other Grade Levels of salaries are Computed with the Minimum Wage as the benchmark using the relativity principle. Therefore if the benchmark increases all the grade levels will have to go up for relativity to be maintained. Its just that the higher the grade level the lower the degree of increase for equity.

With the increase from 18,000 to 30,000 for Grade 01 Step 1, those above that level must have their salaries adjusted because a lower grade cannot earn than higher ones.

However, the degree of adjustments for all levels from 01 to 17 will not be the same and not in proportion to the increase in the minimum wage.

Don't mind that guy. There are so many of these negative persons on this thread who have little or no knowledge about the concept of minimum wage and they're trying so hard to force their ignorance down our throats.

LOL. You've not been following the whole debate. The current minimum wage only affects those earning below 30k.

The argument is that no worker should earn below 30k. If you're currently on a salary of 500k per month, do not expect a 40% increment -- 900k. Your salary remains the same.
Which of the state governors or CEOs can double your salary at the current state of the economy?

That's the argument and conclusion both at the executive and legislative arms.

Issues like this are some of the reasons some of us kicked against the senseless increment in minimum wage. How can you increase minimum wage from 18k to 30k (40% increment) and tell those earning 40k, 100k, etc. to go to hell? Labour union also f00lishly agreed to the du.mb idea.

The public like you and many others out there are also making the same mistake. You all were f00led. Your salary will not increase, not even by 1% unless you earn below 30k.

Better to increase minimum wage by 15% and allow it affect all Nigerian public and private sector workers. That's what I expect from Labour Unions. The current arrangement is dum.b, an idea of du.mb legislators in Abuja.

I think you are mistaken bro. The minimum wage is the benchmark for all salaries e.g, in the civil service, it is salary of a Level 1 Step 1 officer and all other levels and steps are calculated based on it using the relativity policy, though the proportion of increase might not be the same across board.

Please can someone in the know enlighten us on how the new minimum wage will impact on the salaries of Federal govt staff, viz the incremental projections for the various cadres and levels if possible. Thanks.

It is not a crime for a Christian to be rich but what you do with the riches matters. It is a sin to be wealthy and flaunt it, giving glory to youself. Use the wealth to help the poor and needy and propagate the gospel of salvation and righteousness.
