for me, Good points were the upsets, Being an aquatic sports enthusiast, Chad le Clos touching home before phelps, in your face, 16 year old Yi Shiwen leaving the pack behind with a new record and 6 seconds to spare, the women's synchronised event was a beauty to behold. Lastly on the good side, the sportsmen took competition tom a whole new level as there was a rash of new records and personal bests, 7 out of 8 finalists in Men's 100 meters finished under 10 seconds. hell even our own okagbare has a PB, Bravo. Bad. the controversies, Yi Shiwen and the doping conspiracy, the English cyclist who crashes on purpose to force a restart, very unsportsmanly. The timing error that cost a South Korean fencer her medal and causes her to refuse her consolation medal. Wierd/Funny, OSCAR PISTORIOUS. although I am all for non discrimination, I believe those Cheetah Flex arti-Limbs should add some kind of spring. Then why in heavens name can't that Bold dude cross the finish line before celebrating? dude is too full of himself and I don't buy d reason that he knew there was no way to beat the world record so he didn't bother. Blake was just playing according to the script if not, ... And yes, Phelps is the man. greatest Olympian of all time. but then I love upsets so Clos is the bomb. Not really a field person hence nothing from discuss, hammer Javelin and co. over to you great Nlanders, lets hear it. |
With just one day to go and the USA already clear winners without any major China friendly sport to go, and no Nigerian medal yet, I make bold to say the 30th Olympiad; London 2012 is over, signed sealed and delivered. from the 3 star opening ceremony (IMO,) to the failed expectations, the Upsets and the officiating controversies, I think I can say we learnt a lot about the Olympics, Sportsmanship and Sports in General. now back to the topic I would like us to point out the high points and no-no's of the competion, for the records as for me, there has always been a lot to learn from people's opinion. |
*FACE PALM* @ Prophesy |
no birthday mate yet? |
Peterson1993: Regret all the time I wasted following this trash..!bros did u really take this thing seriously |
candygosh: i saw dat one though. She was jogging when she diedyep, dropped dead between strides. saw an episode in which a serial shoplifter stole a scarf/muffler, draped it around his neck to give an appearance of "its part of my apparel" only to get strangled when the stolen item got caught in a conveyor. killed by his loot. crazy funny show well spiced by the drama and humour in the naration. |
20 mins to go and its almost a photo finish. #teamoguggua needs ur votes. |
kandiikane: It is. Any above average is so overrated. You nor noe say you dey tear the girl's insides.hehehe, displace some poor lass' womb. that weapon wasn't meant for pleasure giving. it is better suited for Dilation and Curetage ![]() |
Mr..Cork:LOL. ur plan to burn our phone/PC screens won't work. She gud to go any day, even as a wig wearing man. refine your wooing skills and try again, she just might listen to u. BTW, I think your alleged 17" of punishment is a turn off. |
Oguggua, You are beautiful. I hastily pressed thumbprinted Umbrella and its been in my conscience all day. pls forgive me (and other guilty folks). I will do d right thing come 2015(July. hope u will run) otherwise "biri jini kare jinni" (blood, monkey, baboon, shower hour,,,) |
yes you r right about the focus on scumbags makes me wonder of good people don't die funny deaths. they are real though. wierdest case IMO was d fitness crazed lady that drank bottle water till it killed her, they said it expanded her brain till the pressure popped her dead. another flirtatious lady died cos champagne soaked lethal dye used in Napoleon era Paris to kill sewer rats into her skin. |
OP I don't know how you missed d mischief in the post that says you can. the last line shoulda kicked reality back in. |
daringly different |
What if the error was made by BBC and others? |
Reference: Way to go. That's affirmitive action. If the government wont act the people will vote with their feet. I have told friends and family no MD series. No DC series. No 727. No 737 less than 300 series. These planes are too old, too problematic and too costly to maintain so I don't think our greedy businessmen will maintain them.you are correct about d highlighted. the only problem I have with old aircrafts is such weaknesses like d one you mentioned with d MD series and d wind shear probs with DC-9 series have been exposed and countered in newer models. |
Emphasis shouldn't b on age alone but also on maintainance. till the result of the NTSB investigation, nothing is conclusive. at least we saw a brand new plane on its second demonstration flight crash in indonesia May 9th 2012 killing all 47 people in board made up of aviation journalists and potential buyers. a brand new jet is niether old nor does it need major maintainance/checks |
pufectskin: They don't go to paris weekly; I believe its every 2 weeks or 2 months for service. But I am not entirely sure (but there is d number 2). Of course goin weekly wouldn't be competitive.thanks for pointing that out better. it is the repeated "very often" in @jadesola7's post that threw me off so I had to question taking 15-40 seater turboprops that seldom fly @ full capacity all the way to paris "very often". that doesn't leave much room for profit and might lead to greater corner cutting. well d captain could b a huge enthusiast who doesn't mind ploughing money from other biz into overland just to keep his birds in d sky. and yes, they were brought in but to fly within for profit |
@Jadedola, Overland is quieter cos the use Prop engines. To b honest, going to Paris weekly (esp. with turbo/props) is not feasible as it would drain the resources of the airlines. the frequent checks A&B can b done in Naija or in d ECOWAS sub region. the six planes in the Overland fleet r all regional have ranges to b in excess of 600 miles(1000km). do you know how many layovers lie between lagos and paris at every 600mile interval? where is d profit? also turboprops don't need as much maintainance as jet engines. well I stand to b corrects as you know Captain Boyo, I Don't and who knows, Captain Boyo might not b fully profit driven. |
I remember during my service. A fellow corper asked why I am being paid more. I asked him when he entered school, to which he replied '2005'. The truth is that if I had gone for his course, I would be Serving already by that time! So, I would have had 5 yrs working experience by the time I was serving with him. Imagine what I would be earning then. The same is the case now too.I really can't understand how someone who served with a 2005 entrant (likely in 2010) will call himself EXPERIENCED AND TRUSTED. I really don't gerrit. |
@ypzilanti, good points by Nigerian standard. Rochas comes to mind. D dude is really in a rush roads-wise, but then he is poised to smash all previous white elephant/useless projects records. Hand of God, three new universities, gates all over the town, airline biz his immaginativ skills r limitless |
Vergil: But how did you apply tho? How was the process like? Looking to see if it's the same as d type I sawIt was a simple process, I applied on a fone sometime in february or early march. I think candidates were randomly selected cos I applied for 2 peeps and I was d only one invited. |
sequel to my previous post, I regret to inform d house that I am unpacking as those whose opinions count didn't sanction such move. I'll have to sit this one out, especially with Workforce's history (FBN and Cadbury in mind) For those taking d leap of faith, my prayers r with u. Godspeed and Goodluck. U will come back victorious. They coulda made it PHC, Lag and ABJ test centers. |
@sexiestBH, abuja folks have started interviews already, so I don't think PHC will b that far behind. To Lagos and Back again, then back to Lag for workforce/UACN interview if successful, quite tasking. Packing already though, God strengtheneth me. |
I practically had to lecture an Etisalat dude on their product as d guy obviosly wasn't trained. When he couldn't help, he refered me to a contact point only for mr to learn it was a SIM REGISTRATION CENTER. All he kept "I apologise... pls help me to understand ur probs" I explained d same thing three times over and dude still couldn't comprehend. Exasperating. |
Lagos - PHC for DiamondBank, Chilling in d East for interviews which I was told would b soonest, and now I have to go all d way to lag for Workforce/UCN. Guys Advice pls, D main reason I am considering is; I want to select jobs (neva been an all eggs in 1 basket person) and I wouldn't b helping Gods manifestation by being picky at this stage. But our roads, and our air... And for those thinking it was a 2-2 / 2-1 discrimination thing, I am on d lower end of dat bracket. Another reason not to b selective at this point with my handicap BTW, I thought workforce had PHC covered? Y only lagos ![]() |
aikuda: All these economist wannabes that keep relating the high cost of flight to nigeria to demand and supply, have your heard of economies of scale? The price in nigeria is supposed to be cheaper because of the size of the market. The risk of flying empty seats to and from Nigeria is lower than any other West African country.Try see if from this angle. The lower fares for Ghana and could b because they want to get more passengers (possibly Nigerians looking for better bargain) so as to run optimum utility. Maybe Accra-London flights fly empty like Arik's ABV-LHR and in economic wisdom, BA decided that lower fares will b a good incentive to attract london bound passengers in d west african sub-region. The NG-UK BASA allows 21 flights for each country and d UK has used all, if not they coulda created one more frequency to absorb d rising demand. |
youngmonie: You people are just shouting dokpesi this and that up and down. This is how the government kills business by not paying up in time for contracts awarded. THE FG still owes daar communications money from the fifa u21 dat was hosted by nigeriapls shed more light o. is FG supposed to pay Daar Comms to broadcast it or Daar Comms is supposed to pay for exclusive rights and recoup from subsell and adverts ![]() |
Donwis: @jyk.now dat we ve moved to de interview stage,do u ve an idea of wats ahead of us?plz replyabout 2 or 3 interviews with d last one with d GMD in Lagos then Medicals. learnt that this is going to b a fast-tracked recruitment and everything shouldnt take more than 8 weeks. first will b a panel interview with HR folks or BM and co. know ur CV inside out, work/NYSC experience, educational stuffs like ur research project analysis, ur weaknesses and strengths and what u can add to d bank. A Regional GM would like to know how smart u r. current affairs, Global/National economy, trick questions, general IQ stuffs sha. these guys r smart and very vast so try match them pound for pound. u will b unlucky if u meet one whose field of study is not far from yours, cos he will take u apart. u should b able to defend time spent in Uni. An ED or straight to d GMD. d guy has been complaining about d quality of Trainees so he wants to b a part of d selection. its most likely going to b a "Introduce yourself thing" cos d guy is busy. at this stage, packaging and expression is what matters. pls note that I am not in d system. I just shared d result of my homework and past experiences with u and I might not be 10/10 correct. God is Able and he will see us through. |
@Nicole, this is a three year old thread but regarding your question, the text has been sent. |
