Of course it takes maturity to "admire" a singular trait in something so dark and evil. And if you insist on waiting till they push you, then dont worry The northern states have started something on clamping down on Religious Preachings. It so convenient to sit in the comfort of our homes and claim "One does not need to put thier life on the line because of religion". That's what we are doing now isnt it?. we are waiting for them to go through our neighbours before they get to our doors before we get up and do something. I understand you every well, that space where you are is where a lot of us are - we sit and wait until it gets to us. As long as its far off, we need not worry, only when it gets near us should be start to even think of reacting. How convenient. And yes someone has to devils advocate once in a while, we all cant sleep and face one direction. See its easy to castigate this dude, but while I DONT justifiy his actions at all, we need more people that are willing to sacrifice BUT for a just cause. Thats the point Memejem: |
you probably missed the part where I said "Jesus's disciple where regarded as outlaws (perhaps terrorists) at there time, but of course the contrast is that they were galvanised by the Holy spirit and through prayers and the Good message won souls for God, unlike the death and destruction that a group like ISIS spreads" Any besides my friend, you don't know your history to well either. Go read about the atrocoites that the early Christain Nations committed in the name of God - you might have a change of thought that we Christians might not have being so saintly at all. I am a christain and a very strong one at that, but my point is simple. Are we willing to travel miles to go die for what we believe in?. simple. I am not asking if the guy in question died for a good reason or not., that's left to him and his god. And my illustrations are the pointer to the fact that Jesus' disciples did a similar thing but ofcourse without the arms and swords. Please try to understand my view on the issue. Its a Challenge to those of us that are Christains, myself inclusive. Or is our faith the one that doesnt die for what its believes in. Memejem: |
The fight by the Crusaders was more of a political war than a religious war, because Jerusalem had changed hands so many times between the Christains and Muslims before the final onslaught. Now that's a political war. You and I would gladly fight such battles But I put it to you, would you leave your life behind to fight for Xtain brothers and sisters confronting Boko Haram in Chibok? I am sure you would do that if your kinsmen or men from your tribe are being killed, but would you do that for brothers and sisters of another tribe just because they are Christians. That's what that brain washed dude that went to ISIS did. I know what I am saying, and the reasons I'm reiterating is exactly why Christianity has become a Joke at this present age. its all about our self, our families, our church and our tribe. Remember some people had to make irrational decisions to face grave danger to bring us the gospel we so enjoy today. Most of them were wasted because they were willing to be stupid enough like the dude we all so conveniently find to abuse. ariesbull: |
I love the way you rationed your thoughts, very typical of how a normal human is meant to reason. But here is a flip side of all you have said, The apostles of Jesus Christ left father, mother and family behind, some even left a striving career behind and followed Jesus, know they will die. They dragged their families into pain by refusing to be ordinary men. Jesus's disciple where regarded as outlaws (perhaps terrorists) at there time, but of course the contrast is that they were galvanised by the Holy spirit and through prayers and the Good message won souls for God, unlike the death and destruction that a group like ISIS spreads. But My point still remains the same. A man leaves behind the comforts of life and goes on a lone mission that he knows he would never come back - that's what I respect, that's what the missionaries that brought Christ to Africa did. Tha'ts what we modern Christains have been brain washed not to do. We love the good things of life so much we don't want to ever go. Any one that mentions or reminds us that we would die is seen as a potential devil, how foolish we have become. Yet daily we see people going I am a Christain so dont sweat yourself on me supporting ISIS Memejem: |
There is a huge difference in fleeing a hostile situation, in which you get trapped and killed for your faith, that happened all the time. I m talking of leaving the safety of your home and going to die. in Nigerian terms that would mean, you leaving the south of Nigeria to Borno when the Boko Haram menace was at its peak to help defend the local vigilantes or Xtains been killed. ariesbull: |
This dude leaves behind a wealthy life style, money, family and all. And travels to the harshest of places to defend a faith he believes in. I see this whole story slightly from a different perspective. Then I ask myself, How many Christians are willing to die for their faith, I m not talking of dying for your race or tribe, but for the fact that you believe in Christ. If they say today, if you come out and Go to church we will fire you, how many people would still come out. I know the answer and I very well hope I myself will come out. Every one will die one day, some when they are ready some while they are enjoying - distracted. This dude is gone to face his maker, are we sure with the hate we spew in our hearts, the hypocrisy of our life's and fake mouth service we someday we wont end up where he is. |
Guy, better dont kill yourself. A cheat would always cheat right under your nose even if she is home 24/7. teekay213: |
My most memorable moment is that thunder of a shot that hit the cross bar against Eygpt at the group stage of Tunis 94. Menh the man was a complete striker, He really blended with Oliseh back then, pity we cant put together a team like that era ever again. RIP |
The Tompolo and Asari's that we have now are those that have tasted the good things of life, the private jets, the good life of 5 star hotels, the most beautiful women the world have to offer, the respect of men - they are not the same as you used to think. You dont taste such good life and want to go back to mosquito infested creeks. They are not as willing to die as we all used to believe when the struggle was real. And same goes for all the boys that rolled with them, you need to see how well fed they have become. Only poor people want to die at all cost, when life gets good, you even pray that Jesus should wait and not come yet. When the fire starts, they wont wait doublewisdom: |
So Bayelsa is even worse off compared to Osun, likewise is Ondo, how come no one sings their song. |
Plenty amen to that, God already rules our life's like Nigeria is being ruled now. Things are always hardest before the breakthrough, thats why God allows us to pass through the desert experience before Canaan. That's way better than getting an illusion that all is OK, while the cancer of corruptions eats into our children future. We know our own time might have gone, but at least lets save our children's own TrueHeart365: |
What a pity, Only God know what really must have happened. Nevertheless, wrong to conclude that the woman was cheating. |
Any one can be poor in their very generation... may God not allow the devil have his way on you. Read your bible.. JOBs wealth disappeared right be fore his eyes. And he was a billionaire Holudarey01: |
This is just the beginning of the Naira re-strengthening, watch and observe!! Sunnycliff: |
Point of correction, we behave ourselves in their country because they act appropriately themselves, but since we don't value ourselves and act as we want, they also follow suite when they come here. Have you noticed how Multinationals operate just like local companies when they come to Nigeria?. That's exactly why Nigeria has not being working..we need a mind set change Rapmoney: |
This are men, unlike those of us that sit behind laptops and phones on Nairaland to drop bombs. May God win this battle for Nigeria. |
Relax, you do know nothing good comes easy. The ship of the country has been steered in the correct direction. We have set sail, and in Jesus' name we shall start to get there. CastedDude: |
Nice too see change seems to be coming slowly, at least cooperate organisations now give a damn about their image. ... |
What is my Opinion on TB Joshua and his prophesies? I do honestly believe that the man does see things, maybe not a 100% accurate, but he seems to see things. Should we take his prophesy serious? Yes I think so, even if its a simple word to cancel it and cover ourselves with the protection of God. Do I think he can do better? Oh sure yes, it almost seems his media likes to shower credit on him when his prophesies come true, forgetting that humans lives might have been lost. The priority should be on ensuring that negative prophesies are averted. But also you now ask, if most of his prophesies are averted due to intervention wont people label him a fake again. I believe strongly that people have to learn spiritual maturity and understand that both God and the devil show visions to their messengers. The more important thing is to cancel all negative prophesies as we have been given authority too, and decree the establishment of good prophesies when they are pronounced. Evil shall not befall Nigeria or Ghana fin Jesus Name. |
Whao, he should take it easy o, Nigeria has better days ahead o BeardedMeat: |
On the contrary I think its the SW he must be referring too. Yoruba's talk a lot, while the others have started to stockpile weapons in preparation for fire in the event it occurs. Even in that Lagos, I wont be surprised if other ethnicities are better armed that yorubas, getting ready for war. The recent events at Mile 12 is an example of how ill prepared Yorubas always are. kettykings: |
Really, did you type this while running to buy fuel. You usual have something more intelligent to say other than a one liner "When did Amaechi add the Lagos-Calabar rail project? I still find it hard to believe" TonyeBarcanista: |
You apparently have watched too many science fiction movies to think a meteor has to blow us all like a nuclear bomb. In reality meteorites land on earth regularly. However most of them are small in size and land in the sea as the earth has 75% water. Almost every major advanced civilization in history recorded one form of meteor show or another. Nevertheless, the more intriguing part of this things is that those rock could be millions of years old, travelling through space of millions of light years oloriooko: |
Why should people believe the story is fake, there is a scientific explanation to this nah, or are people that oblivious that things fall into our planet from outer space?. That a tiny bit of a meteor shower, lucky it didnt land on some one or something. Neverthelss, it could be an isolated event or a sign some bigger meteorite might be on its way to earth. |
Well, what is sad news to someone might just be good piece of news to another. But seriously, you are a man, you probably might be married with kids. Are you not bothered that if this dullard fails, that 7 wasted years that would never be restored. Would you rather still hope he fail rather than hope he succeeds, after all if he (Dullard) fails he wont suffer, neither would a certain Jona. But I think a lot of people on Nairaland would. Just a thought into the mind of a black man - and yet we think we are better thinkers than whites. PoliticalThuG: |
Hehe.. Laughing is Russian. Despite all your hate for this man, you know deep in your heart he is a formidable force to reckon with. Just like those that vowed to starve to death if Paul in the bible was not killed, you also pray each day hoping evil would befall baba, but see your desires are yet to happen - and will never happen. You have to stay in your perpetual state of sadness for the next 7 years. I wonder how sad you must be each time you hear anything good about government, it not make you so miserable. Each morning you wake and hear good news about baba, you must feel sad. Whao what a life. if this is how dullards are, Yes I like this kind of dullard and millions of Nigerian still do. How do feel now? PoliticalThuG: |
Well, fast forward to 2016, we still stick our drillers in the ground but the oil is now way cheaper... bebe2: |
Nope... too vulgar for my liking |
So we should have voted GEJ right?.. I laugh in swahili. Then things would have been worse by now.. with the rate the stealing was going on, we would have all been at the border by now trying to cross over, while the likes of the Oil minister, Militants and corrupt military men would have been lavishing abroad. In the 2015 elections we had no choice - Buhari is not the best, but surely was the only option. If there are No better options come 2019, sorry but we sticking with Baba.. Kenai: |
THank God they were not kidnapped.. |
This is exactly how selfish people talk, your parents went through the rigours of taking care of you, cleaning your dirty ass when you were a baby, gladly picked you and rocked you when you cried at night and for many years paying your school fees from their hard earned money. Thats what parents do, now that you are old you should at least seek for what would make them happy, thats what responsible people do. They could have aborted you, you think its easy to raise a child. Now grow up and go find a good girl that would make mama and papa proud and happy. People need to think beyound themselves for once...and the fact that you find a woman like this attractive also speaks volumes about who you turned out to be - despite that your parents tried untop your matter they took you to church o, every wednesday and sunday. and No, its not only you marrying her, she is marrying your family also.
