Dont worry, wars are not won in a day neither are they lost in a day, however a single days decision is enough to shift the balance of power in any battle. Let better countries supply us with hardware, then lets see how powerful this rogue armies really are. Mind you none of the weapons that BK nor ND avenger use are manufactured in Nigeria, they are all sophisticated weaponry from advanced countries, infact in some cases, this rogue armies carry have better weapons than our army, so let the army upgrade as well, then we can have something close to an army to address all this concerns. brownlord: Did you read before the end of 2016? Even though his conclusions might be faulty, but he has a valid point in saying if the president is killed in Ogoniland, he surely wont be the only that would be dying for the next God knows how long, and surely that's the end of Nigeria and many lives. Not to mention people picking arms over night against their neighbours all over Nigeria. Rwanda was a disastrous example of what people can wake up to do to others in the name of ethnicity. You can imagine people starting to kill one another right from the streets, schools and offices. That's what would have happened if they took him out. Mack3N: You dey mind am?they have all been starved of what to say since buhari chicken off from ogoni, they are all desperate for some bad news of genocide by the NA.remember how they celebrated the killing of unarmed protesters, calling them miscreants..I have since made up my mind as to how I see people from north and west. |

May God bless you, cause only an ignorant person would refuse to ask questions about where all the monies that have been given to the authorities from the ND are. FG should be blamed, yes, but the rulers are authorities from that region cannot be exempted, Tompolo inclusive. YoungExec: 1. Statutory Allocation 2. 13% Derivation 3. Ministry of Niger Delta Budgetary Allocation 4. Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Statutory Budgetary Allocation 5. Amnesty Windfall 6. Huge Pipeline Surveilance Contracts 7. International Oil Company (IOC) Host Community CSR
It's time to really start telling ourselves the truth. Political Leaders in the Niger Delta are as culpable as the Federal Govt. Let us not quickly forgive and forget our own people who betrayed us. Let us not lose sense of history. Chinua Achebe famously stated in one of his books that "a man who does not know where the rain began to beat him cannot say where he dried his body.”
It is alleged that Tomopolo was paid a very huge sum by the FG as compensation for the land used for the Maritime University and he paid only a tiny fraction to his community. If this is true, is it the FG that cheated the local community?
While we point a finger at the Federal Govt, let's not forget that the four remaining fingers are pointed back us and our leaders in the Niger Delta. |

Difference between ND avengers and Boko Haram, the ND avenger want to live long enough to enjoy the dividends of what ever they are agitating for, while BH is only interested in death and terror, A man that wants to live would never be as daring as a man who is living to die, ND need not kill themselves, they should come out and dialogue. Mind you, FG has been wounded already as Oil production has dropped - and that's the heart beat of the Nation, they would gladly fight with everything they have. |

Institutions should arise that allows the common man participate in a mutual fund that sources for funds for fuel importation. The turn over rate is fast and at a minimum of 100k with say 10% return in 2 months lots of Nigerians would participate. But seriously I believe FG should try some form of negotiations with this boys, Nigeria should fight its battles one at a time, the time to deal with this boys is not now. Infact Tompolo should be be FG's eyes and ears in that regions. Not everything is settles by Violence always. Even the Americans know how to get arm factions and support their interests in a battle. That ND has many factions, FG should get behind some to help get at the others, they know their ways, The Tompolos are better armed dealing with the rogues and protecting the pipes. Buhari should calm down - this is one of the few disadvantages of having an Old man in power, he would not listen in time. This ND boys can continue to do this for a long time, equally I m sure they are armed to the teeth with Jazz, so conventional military might might not suffice for now. omenka: TonyeBarcanista, shey fear no wan let you put mouth for this matter because those miscreants don bully you into silence?? You dread pissing them up again abi? Smh.
Now they've resorted to laying waste to your lands just so they could secure the release of Kanu (forget Dasuku. Na cover up for their principal intent). You know no one can bully/blackmail the FG into releasing someone who's being charged with a crime as weighty as treason. Destroy the whole of ND they might, but Kanu IS NOT gonna be released based on such actions by criminals.
In fact, this is going to aggravate Kanu's problems if anything.
Na una peeps I dey pity. Farmlands, water bodies, marine life, what serve as a major source of livelihood for your people would be the first casualties- then the effect would start being felt by they themselves.

Here is my response on the part that seems to make you laugh: How do you trust someone who increases the cost of fuel on the 1st of Jan... 1st of Jan for Gods sake, isnt that wickedness of the highest order, it wont kill him to wait for a month to bring the hard ship on us, need i remind you of how long it took for people to return home when they all got stranded. So yes he lost our trust the moment he made that move, and yes I Voted for GEJ in 2011, and also Yes we trust Buhari now, because GEJ made Buhari look so good and sellable and Yes i voted for Buhari in 2015. And the subsidy has gone Nbote: First things first, it's not Subsidy Remover but Subsidy Removal so I wonder what Congress discusses "remover" instead of "removal". Well I expect u to claim it's auto-correct blah blah but then u asked if ASUU understood the govt of subsidy? From ur write up and use of English I laughed at d part where u mentioned "U and ur colleagues" and "at ur Congress today". Anyways unions don't need 100% vote to reach an agreement or take a decision. Majority as we know always carries d day which means there'll b some who oppose d idea. I find it laughable d new excuse of d masses not trusting d GEJ govt with public funds or his govt having transparency issues because he had jus won d elections a few months earlier for christ sakes. How com he won d elections since d new claim dat he wasn't trusted or transparent enof? I don't think U or d govt or anyone else needs to give excuses as to why ppl opposed it, jus giv reasons y dey shld support d move simple. I'm not in support or any industrial action by d NLC or ASUU or any other body at dat cos dey have been silent for too long and shld had done so way before now wit d persistent scarcity and clear indication in d budget of d removal of subsidy. But d ryt to embark on an industrial action is totally theirs if dey deem so. |

Interesting NLban:
You must be a very lucky woman to have such a husband. Most women take men like your husband for granted. They see men with such virtues as week men. Some secretly mock them with their friends. I don't think I can live this kind of life, because women only respect men who are harsh on them. When you are too soft on women, they never take you serious. They see you as their rag.

I admire your passion, and very extensive analysis, But you missed my point completely, and I believe I owe it to you to re-phrase what I have said all along. There are 2 parts to what this man's actions were. 1. He left his comfortable life 2. He pursued a cause he believed in. I am not justifying his actions for taking up arms and fighting for ISIS not one bit. My admiration is for leaving behind a life of comfort. He might as well have left the way he did to help the red cross in that same Syria and end up dying, he would still get my admiration. That's my point. And yes I like the challenging question of what am I doing to Help fight Boko Haram. To be honest all I do is pray, But i believe I can do a bit more. I will take up the challenge to find a reasonable NGO doing some work in that region and make a donation. Memejem: While you are here typing all this, what exactly are you doing to help fight the boko haram insurgency?
Being mature is great but your admiration for displaced faith is misplaced. You are admiring how a mind can become corrupt, because the man is not practsing faith in God. He is delusional and blindly following the teachings of people who have polluted the religion. If God was to come down from heaven today do you think he would open his arms and welcome the terrorists of Isis?
I think what you admire is his passion however displaced and not his faith. These terrorist groups are highly politicized and appear to be campaigning on the basis of religion. Why should I as a Christian go and fight a battle that really has less to do with God and more to do with economics and power.
Any reasonably educated person will be able to see that the majority of these terrorists groups are just covers for political parties. Why was al-queda trained by the United states government. Isis was formed as a result of the Iraqi invasion by the Americans. It has more to do with culture, power, greed and money than it has to do with religion.
Look deeper into the history of how these groups were formulated. Propaganda is a major tool for recruitment. The majority of their foot solders are uneducated youth who can barely read the teachings of the Koran for themselves and blindly listen to the teaching of their leaders. Their fight is against the west. They want autonomy over thier land and resources. Though in the case of this man he was educated. But if you truly believe he fought because of his faith in God you have a lot to learn. Should Isis gain control of thier regions do you not think they would prosper by controlling thier natural resources in the land (oil). Most of these groups are created as a reaction to a perceived threat upon their sovereignty and that primary threat is not Christianity. At least not now.
Do you think that the leaders of all these terrorist organizations recruit thier children and wives as foot solders for the most part? Why didn't the article inform us of the demise of his wife and children as well? They were probably hiding out somewhere else, protected.
You are trying to incite Christians to fight a war that you think is solely based on religion. But it is not.
Jesus preached about peace. This is the 21st century. You don't need to enter a battlefield for change to occur. That's why there are different career fields. If you want to stop boko haram go and join the army because they are a threat to the whole nation and not just Christianity. They are a threat to Islam as well because true Muslims would not behave like them. In order for the world to function you have people who work different jobs to sustain the economy. If everyone all went to war who will feed the children? Who will teach them? Who will farm the land and grow the crops? Who will pay house rent and help the sick in the hospital?
You need to rationalize. Stop playing devils advocate for the sake of playing devils advocate. There's another name for that. It's called a troublemaker. |
