Samtobh:
Driving on Badagry road is like travelling in a war zone.

To say the the road has become a national embarrassment will be an understatement.

Had to execute some rural electrification projects around Badary-Seme axis and couldn't drive 1km. The whole stretch to Seme Border is a death trap.

Since 2018 that the contract was awarded and abandoned, I can see little changes this year, gone through the road a few times and sure work is ongoing. The question is, how many years will it take the government to fix a road of 62km , (mile 2 to seme border)?

It is well
Nobody will understand the weight of this your post until they have had an experience of it.

The last time I pass there, I practically entered about 13 bikes, at every junction, we will come down from the bike (myself and bikeman, and carry the bike with our hands over to different sides, just to maneuver. It is crazy as hell

PoliticsThe Looting & The Destructions Has Nothing To Do With #ENDSARS Being Highjacked by profstar(op):
The looting and the destructions has nothing to do with #ENDSARS being highjacked - My opinion

Let's get something clear about the looting and the destructions that has been happening, it is NOT caused by #ENDSARS being allegedly hijacked. It is caused as a result of the revolt which is triggered by the #LekkiMassacre of "citizens" by the govt. We have seen a similar pattern during the South African Xenophobia of last year, even Americans too have shown similar pattern when George died and govt response to the crime was poor.

One of nature principles is at work is, The Pendulum Rule, "for every swing to a side, there will be a corresponding swing to the opposite extreme, with similar movement force" - Samson Oke

Govt made the first swing, the REACTIONS were basically abiding to nature's rule. That is not to say that I encourage looting and destructions in any way. I stand against any act of violence.

the TYPE of REACTION in this context, will now be based on the level of poverty and illiteracy of the populace (their state of mind).

A highly educated society, could REACT with a sudden trigger of a new massive protest of both old and young that will force the president to resign or force National Assembly to remove the president from position, for abuse of power.

The high level of poverty and illiteracy is also caused by the govt, you can't breed an uneducated populace and expect a none catastrophic reactions to your catastrophic actions. That is why we want to #EndBadGovernance

So therefore, the looting and destructions has nothing to do with hijack of #EndSARS protest.
Both old men and women and young people have been seen to partake in these vices since it started after the Lekki massacre.

FamilyRe: Please Help: How Do You Find A Mother You Have Never Met by profstar(m):
Godlovesyou28:
Not yet; I haven't been able to travel
I found so much interest in your story that I read everything up to this page, so my conclusion, I will be raw as possible.

Now let's solve this logically, what are the possible scenarios here and possible steps

1. Your father and his brother had an entanglement with the same woman, and that is why brideprice was returned (meaning, your real mother cheated, either on your father with his brother, or on your father's brother with your father)

You can't even conclude that your so called father is your father because you look like him, he might as well be your original father's brother (from the look of the entanglement and the introduction of your cousin into the picture).

2. You should be curious about the dead mother of your said cousin, there is 50% chances that she is your real mother.

Trace her source, visit her family and be generous to them without letting them know your mission or quest. Seat with them and get to know them well, like you just naturally attracted to them. Someone will spill something or a clue will show. Or you atleast cross out that possibility at the end.

3. Loose hope on making your said cousin your investigating partner
You said you have been "blackmailed" to him by your step-mom, believe me, people hardly recover from blackmail,
He can't have your back, more so, he is religiously occupied

Also, you need to avoid making sensitive enquire through phone, nobody will want to open up.

4. You need to visit the village.

Like someone suggested, make friends there, let them do the dirty investigation but don't show desperation, if not, they will milk you dry and keep the information from you so they can continue milking you.

5. Confront your step mother, but make sure you keep emotions away.
You seems to be avoiding this option. I know you "despise" her even though you seems to have forgiven her.

6. Finally, I think you should reevaluate your decision on marriage.

We all love to feel loved, once we can't get love, we tends to be emotional on other things.
You have mentioned so many psychological symptoms, which are attributable to lack of love feelings.

More so, it is better when you have someone to fight along side with you.

I pray your curiosity finds answers soon.
Peace.

FamilyRe: Hidden Life Rules That I Learned Too Late In Life by profstar(m): 7:36pm On Jun 22, 2020
Lifepodcastng:
I love what you wrote but it appears you’re too crude. It’s ok to live life like it’s survival of the fittest but you’re not different from animals. Life is not really survival of the fittest, life is when we help even the weakest survive.
I’d like to correct the notion that the lion is king bc the tiger doesn’t live in the jungle, that’s not correct, these are just two reasons I picked and will pick other as time goes
1. The lioness who’s the mother and the disciplinary figure in the jungle respects the lion and every fucking animal has to. It’s not like that for the tiger, it’s a barbarian lineage where the tigress does not respect the lion and can fight it at any chance
2. The lion is truly the king as it demonstrate wonderful leadership animalistic behavior
It’s not greedy
It’s a family guy
It’s forgiving (tiger is vengeful)
It’s easily Satisfied
The tiger does have these qualities and not fit to rule less if it has a problem with the lion being king then it should go Bleep itself in another place

Another reason why I’m against your post is that you think people should destroy their enemies(People against them). Don’t you think that’s shallow minded? Considering you’re probably someone’s enemy right now. Love everyone equally and you probably won’t have enemies and even if you do, love them still, that’s the only way to live. Considering even those you protect can kill you someday
If these words above are exactly how you are, then you have such a good and big heart, pansophist lines have their imperfections to it, so as yours too. For example, bolded part:
I hope you understand that "being disciplinary in the jungle" is the same as number 4, 5 & 11 of pansophist quote.

In a nutshell, if I want to summarize your comment there, "the lioness does all the dirty work for Lion and the Lion gets all the praise.
Well this makes the Lion to be "a bad guy" as against how you are painting it in your number 2.

The reality is, you have to strike a balance, as much as good you have in your heart, never forget number 4 rule of Pansophist, it will help give longevity to your good heart.
FamilyRe: Hidden Life Rules That I Learned Too Late In Life by profstar(m): 7:07pm On Jun 22, 2020
pansophist:
1. Lions are called the king of the jungle because Tigers (and other stronger formidable predators) do not live in the jungle. In other words, the people who look down on you do so because you haven't assumed your throne and shine in your glory. Go be a king in your domain.

2. Resurrect your inner b!tch. The world is a jungle, and being Mr nice guy will not take you far. The unrelenting you are to exhume your inner b!itch, the farther you go.

3. Formal education will make you a living, but self-education will make you a fortune. True life's education is experienced outside the classroom. know the difference between to be schooled and to be educated.

4. Being nice and incapable of inflicting harm is not a virtue. It is a weakness. The ability to inflict an untold amount of damages, but chooses not to, is a virtue.

5. If they stand behind you protect them. If they stand beside you, respect them. But if they stand against you, destroy them.

6. Be aware of your vices, and do not let it destroy your life. A typical vice for men is philandering, negative aggression, greed, alcoholism, etc. For women, it is prostitution, chaos, vindictiveness, narcissism, and dissatisfaction.

7. The antidote to suffering in life is responsibility. pursue what is worth dying for, and every other suffering you pass through shall be insignificant.

8. Never be afraid to walk alone, instead be afraid to walk mindlessly with the crowd. Your mind can be your greatest asset, and your greatest liability, depending on if you nourish it well. Be a solitary Tiger if needed, not a mindless sheep.

9. As a man, your superpower lies in being masculine, and for women, being feminine. Understand this and accentuate it to the best of your ability.

10. The ability to express yourself eloquently is power. The power of speech can move mountains, bring down standing armies, and give meaning to life. Be eloquent. The content of your speech speaks more about the speaker, as opposed to the subject. The formation of your mental sophistication is expressed through the content of your words.

11. The weaker you are, the more fight you will get into. The stronger you are, the less fight you will get into either. To thrive is to be tough.

12. Anyone that loves you in the truest meaning of love is your family. Love unites people not blood, though love coming from blood relation is thicker. To understand the true meaning of love, substitute the word ''love'' with responsibility. Love without responsibility is not love, it is infatuation.

13. the natural mandate is that anything valuable comes from the inside. If an egg is broken by an outside force, life ends. If it is broken by an inner force, life begins. Do not let external forces suppress your inner voice.

14. Approach every human relationship and connections with a sense of mutualism, conversely, do not entangle with someone who does not understand this timeless rules. Mutualism is growth, parasitism is death. The tree provides shelter for the bird to nest, and the birds help the tree by spreading its seeds to fertile ground. to germinate.

15. The gentle walk of a tiger is not foolishness, but strategic. In life, know when to give up, preserver, and what deserves your energy and resources, to avoid falling deep into the "sunk cost effect".

16. Have boundaries. A hen is harmless, but as soon as it hatches, its mouth used for eating becomes a weapon to defend and protects it chick, regardless of the aggressors size.

Also, I'd want everyone to know that as people are dying in Kano it may spread down South soon. Pls pay attention to your personal safety.

Moreover, save a lot of money. Things would be ugly till next year. If you have a wedding plan, pls go ahead and do it and save alot of money for yourself.

If you have access to cash, or a place to borrow look out for companies you can acquire or partner with especially in the Japan, US and European countries.

There some companies that manufacture basic things we use here that can be acquired for few cash, and start operations here in Nigeria.

Believe me, things would never remain the same after this pandemic. You must plan ahead of time.....

Olominira

Let me give more insight. Things we use everyday, like electronics, chemicals, drugs, phones, home appliances etc. As at last week Friday, more than 15k emails were sent from India to companies, Vietnam sent over 8k, Indonesia too calling on companies operating in China for partnerships. Many of them are privately owned according to a report. Some of these companies are looking for new operating sites.

However, some companies are in distressed in their home countries and you can find more information about those companies and reach out if you really want to.

Western media has made everything non_western evil. We
need to sit down and look at it logically.
Nigeria has been struggling to fight BH for decade, US has
never shown any genuine support, infact, at a time they're
were technically supporting BH by blocking every opportunity
to access weapons. Whereas, the same US has been
building sophisticated millitary bases all over Africa with
several billions of dollars even all over islands in Africa. In a
continent struggling to provide as basic thing as clean water,
road, edu, etc. In term of infrastructural development, US
hasnt built anything tangible anywhere in Africa despite her
big economy and influence.
On the other hand, China is building projects across Africa
from electricity to train to Airport, roads, scholarships to
Africans, etc even with their own money. Let's say we can't
pay and they take over them, who would still be using those
infrastructure, Chinese? At least they brought them here, so
if we can't pay back and they take over them these things
would still be in use by Africans and improve quality of life,
just like every private business.
US/Trump that everyone is supporting call Africans all kinds
to unprintable names, visa ban, reporting weak sides of
African nations and continuously ridiculing everything we do.
The list is long. China hasnt done any of these yet, western
media still find their ways into the hearts of Africans to hate
Chinese. Sadly, enough some fake pastors joined this
brainwashed citizens.
Look at China, how many times have they tumbled African
govt? How many nations have China invaded in Africa? How
many times has Chinese embassy criticize our local affairs?
Etc
New York started have underground train in 1809, that's
200yrs, they never extended such to Africa. China started
booming just 20yrs ago and they've extended everything
technology they have to us, that have improved our lives;
From phones, train, Good Airport, Naval ship, Telecom,
Roads, scholarships, etc
Africans must sitdown and think. China is not your enemy.

Generator bill is the only sensible one there. To develop we need to take drastic action taken otherwise 10years from now we will be having the same problem.
We have a few years before countries stop combustion engine production. European countries will stop producing generators. But the countries producing them don't use it. They are going to use the financial opportunity of these to weak our chances of developing our energy so that we keep depending on them.
We can spend money on other sources of energy like solar, there are intelligent Nigerians out there developing better cheap sources of energy we are not supporting. States are supposed to spend money on research and installation of solar in schools and hospitals. We should look at noise pollution and air pollution these generators cause and the health impacts in our lives.

FFK has money to fly to UK for care do we all have that NO. My argument might not make sense now but look at the future opportunity.

HealthPrecautions To Survive Coronavirus As A Nigerian by profstar(op):
I'm not here to state the obvious, so I will be skipping the popular precautions and focus on what is peculiar to us as Nigerians

It is no more a prediction that coronavirus will get to Nigeria, it’s a confirmed case. All thanks to our government's proactive measures to ensure travel ban/ quarantine measures are placed on affected countries.

Some people might say, the virus has not really spread, so no need to be too careful for now, the question is, do you want to take the chances?

Now the fear of everyone is, how do we tackle an enemy that is making developed, technologically advanced countries look like amateurs, with their technological sophistication and advancement in medicine and all?

The statement "we were able to handle Ebola virus, so we can handle this too" is purely a statement to celebrate mediocrity.

Did you know that Ebola couldn't survive in developed countries, simply because they were bigger than Ebola, they were too sophisticated for Ebola to survive (their environment, their people, their way of life, everything).

What I'm saying is that, celebrating our victory over Ebola, is a good one, but it shouldn't get into our head and make us to be carefree because we are in no position to be.

So back to the focus.

Precaution To Survive Corona As A Nigerian

1. Avoid Paper Currency like a plague

Yeah, you read it right!

Reason:
The virus can be spread from one person to another through currency

Did you know it is possible you stay indoor all throughout and still contact the virus? Simply from the currency coming to meet you at home! (as you have to still buy things and collect change

Solution:

Use bank transfers, install bank apps on your phone, force your transactions through bank transfers, even in public markets (but you need to ask the seller first before buying)

And for those that want to show skills, go the cyptocurrency way cool

Our currency is the dirtiest of all the counties that have had the case of the virus so far and our environment is just as dirty as our currency and it can spread the virus faster than we can imagine. The network of how money moves from hand to hand is unbelievably wide and fast

2. Avoid Publicly Open Food Sources, like a disease (Aboki-suya, rostered & boiled corn, Boli, etc)

Yeah, at this point some people will be pained, your favorite food made the list of To-be-avoided

Reason:
These foods are prone to so many people touching and 'speaking over them'

Just look at boiled corn and boli, while it is been cooked on the street (as e dey hot), people will come and choose by romancing it, talk over the open corn, press it to see if it is strong or soft, at the end they will make another selection. So what happened to the one they have touched, guess what! Someone else will pick it, what if that "someone else" is you and the corn has been contaminated? God forbid right? Save yourself the story that touches the heart

3. Avoid church, mosque and other gathering for now. The reason is obvious, I don't need to stress it, pray from your house for now or stream the service live (I'm not trying to be controversial), public buses that carry people tightly like sardines too are high risk (God help us)

4. Avoid touching any public button, door handle, publicly touched surfaces. if you must, then wear a glove, don't forget you cannot touch your face with the same glove.

5. Cook your own food

If you can, it is very important, how are you sure the people cooking the public food in your favorite restaurant are virus-free or will be virus-free? Do you want to take the chances? For me, No

Maybe it is time to refill your cooking gas, food provisions and also to start waking up a bit early or overnight to make your food to take to work for now.

Stay Safe, Stay Alive
