Does anyone know if its possible for me to recharge a phone for someone in Naija? I will love to do it online and send it straight to their phone. Thanks |
@ poster, To the best of my knowledge, those things can be bought cheaper coming from China than US/UK anyway. They are made in China and if you can have a reputable supplier from China. it will be better. By the time you add shipping from China to US/UK then to Niger, profit margin will be decreased as opposed to just shipping straight from China to Niger. Word! Remember, the key word here is REPUTABLE. Some chinese supplier (even in their worst day) can be way more crooked than any Nigerian can ever dream of in a lifetime! without even trying ![]() |
@ poster, Better still, post ur idea. see if anyone is interested and will contact you. The way you put it maked it seem a little fishy. im not saying the deal is necessarily fishy, but whats the point of them contacting you wt private addy? Wise up ![]() |
Yet to set up my matercard acct. I do have a friend here in calif. wt a GTB mastercard. in fact, i helped the guy bring the card from naija last Jan when i was coming back to the US. (he travelled in Nov 07 and set up the acct) Card wasnt ready when he was coming back. Anyway, he doesnt have problems pulling cash out at all. Money is loaded in his domiciliary acct and he will pull cash out here in the US. No problem to the best of my knowledge. Im not sure if any fee is applicable tho. |
@ poster, Passat is a no-no. unless u have money to throw away! be wise. Camry! Repaeat after me. C-A-M-R-Y!!!! |
Hello Nairalanders, I am calling out to those in the house who are familiar with Nylon Machine extruders. I want to know if there's a popular make/brand that is common and easily repairable in Nigeria. Also, If you have info about a good Extruder Technician, please share. Also info about the Nylon printing machine makes will be nice. I am somewhat familiar with the machines but i want to narrow my scope down. Please note: If you are not ready to post your info for others to read. Please don't bother!. Lets share the knowledge. I wont call you or email you! Thanks in advance. |
@ Ivvie, Is that your E500? or your friend's? One of the baddest car on the planet. While you are at it, dont forget the 1972 6.3, the 1980 6.9, the 190 16V . o my my . i dream and wish ![]() |
whatever u decide to buy. remember that maintenance is the key. theres no point of having a car you can find parts, or parts 2 costly or mechanic not too close by. whatever floats your boat! |
@ poster, try and get in contact with someone in the east coast of the US (New York, New Jersey, Baltimore). Its not econonical for u to get a full container just for 1 car. A 40ft container can accomodate 4 cars and cost between $5,500-$6,300 to ship. However from the east coast of the US you have the ability to ship Ro-Ro (that is put on car directly on a Boat) on the parking platform which is not possible anywhere else in the US. You will only pay for one car cost (about $1500). That should help u narrow your search. I dont live near the East Coast. I should have helped you. Good luck. |
u do printing or what? |
@ Noel, Doesnt seem you/your frined have gone wrong in your decision. Seems this car is powered with either the 1.6L/1600cc or the might mighty tru soja 2.0/2000cc engine both used in either the corolla or the Camry. Either way "No shaking". You are on the right. Toyota have a simple formula: Make a good engine and use it in a lot of models of cars. The only thing i will like to add is that let the driver know that its important to check the transmission oil level at regular intervals. Automatic transmissions are not as tolerant as Manual transmission. Good luck! ![]() |
Does anyone have a pic of what Toyota first lady looks like? pls post. im somewhat behind the curve here |
No We dont! How is he more qualified that those who fought the civil war for the country. Whne the East tried to break away but unsuccessful, the Biafran war was fought by people who lost their lives. Why is he more worthy . He failed to prepare in his life. He has been "dashed" every now and then, hence him coming back for more. Tell him to move on! |
dont trip, its only 4 days apart. By the way US embassy rerely base their decision on others granting u visa. its the other way round in most cases. Good luck! |
Hello Nairalanders, Is anyone aware of Govt Building/Flats for sale in Ibadan. Sort of LSDPC types. (Hopefully with Mortgage/Installment payment option) I'm presently inching along with my own construction in Ogun State and i don't think i have the Stamina/Desire to embark on another one in Ibadan at the moment. An moreso, i don't have enough "my peoples" that can watch my back in Ibadan ![]() |
@ Ivvie, Mr Bragadocious, this is really not the forum to start Sh#@!. however, be careful of what you wish for. If you want peace youve got it and if otherwise, don't be fooled by the Christian stuff. I'm a P/T Christian. Ready for whatever because of people like you. My blood is boiling just typing this wondering how the heck we got here, Please slow your roll. Check yourself before, A word is enough for the wise. And please spell check. The word is TAUGHT not "thought". But well, i guess you don't think, it might explain why you don't know the difference. For the last time, please give this a rest. Don't bark up the wrong tree. |
@ Ivvie, Pls dont speak until you are spoken to. Small pikin no dey put mouth for adult talk. go sit in a corner it will soon be your turn ![]() Is it me or cant you read at the top that its addressed to Sultaan. Dont make me, |
@ Sultaan, i guess you'll have to find someone else. im a born again christain now . i will pray for you anytime you run your mouth bou me! However, remember, a tiger never loses its spot. i still got fire in my belly. ![]() Ive just been reading most of the post. Most ppl are interest in buying so since i dont have anything to sell i just keep quiet. i leave them to viperman. the wheeler/dealer. im putting my gameplan together for 08 tho. trying to obtain my dealers license here (2 many hoops to jump) and see where i go from there. What u been up to? You and elder Statemen Ivvie and Democrat formerly known as |
hey, howdy? let me remind you that California has the most vehicles on the road in the US. So we cant be much of a tree hugger. And yes, our Governor can beat up your Governor ![]() |
@ sultaan, Me a Tree Hugger? You've got me mixed up. Dont know where/when your fantasy began about me stalking you. If you've made a Bad call, i'll check you on it. Straight and simple. You must have said something thats not true or worse, stupid. ![]() |
@ thirdeye, u on? |
no problem. my pleasure |
@ poster, All i can tell u is that "when it rains, it pours" and according to law of nature, "whatever will go wrong will go wrong" If you cannot get an original copy, by all mean come up with a cogent reason why not. e.g the first one sent was lost in the mail or so and the time is too close etc. Here are few tips for you: There is little an opinion of anyone here matters, it has to do with how the interviewer "feels you". "Round out your edges" (be organised. You can label each documents needed and give as asked) Be cooooool. GET UR STORY RIGHT!. Story 1 shouldnt conflict story 2. "Answer only questions asked. No long story. Be polite without looking like a slave or too desperate.I suggest you wear subtle color. Navy Blu Suit or Grey will be my choice. Get HAIRCUT. Corporate Responsible Be well Groomed. Mouthstash, Beard etc And Lastly, Have Faith and Pray. |
@ Thirdeye, I sent you an email few days ago but havent read from you. My question is about "BECO" Blocks you mentioned in one of your replies. Can you give a me a brief description. I am thinking its the same quality as i see over here. One of my "wish" is that someday i will establish a block industry that produces high quality blocks like the ones here in the US. But two things im worried about. Selling it (cos it will be a tad more xpen$ive) and also acquiring the machines to make them. Be loaded! i warn! But the products are superb compare to what i see over there regularly in Naija. I plan to set up shop in Ibadan tho. I always love the place. Lagos is a bit crazy for my liking. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks. |
@ 2Rich4U, The 1st question is do you like the house? If yes. I will suggest that do not pay more that 10mil. Final answer!. Anyone asking 14mil will jump at 10mil cash. Or else. i say WALK! Also, how long has this house been standing? Maintenace neglect? Any known unflattering history? Someone died there etc. Family squables? Is it owned by a polygamous family? Are the family upstanding. You dont want ppl showing up at your door dem thinking you owe them a living or so? If house is being sold by a widow then husband's family might be troubling you. Hence building from scratch will be the way. No doubt. I f you wanna build, u have to visit home and see references and find someone as honest as you can find. Do not make it known that all funds are ready. Tell them na small small u go dey do am. The good to that is that u will get ur exact choice. Though time consuming. All good things take time u know! Good luck |
2000 camry for 800k? Hmmmmmm. You might have to a bit realistic. U might get one minus the engine ![]() |
@ POSTER, I think u are leaving too close to the holiday. Leave around 1st wk in Dec and the Deal might be more pleasant. I booked from Dec to Jan (1st week) and paid $1600. Of course i bought it about 6wks ago. This is even leaving from California. You might as well say leaving from the end of the world! So re-thing ur schedule. Kinda hard to get a hook-up unless you work for the airline or better still u own the plane! ![]() |
@ folami, what shocked u in naija? |
Let me start by reminding everyone that this is just a Forum. Lets be respectful and Courteous. At least thats the intention. Please lets be civil and Candid. I want to know the opinions of People about the Chinese Community (Businessmen, Enterprenuer) in Nigeria in particular and Africa at large. Are they helping or hurting the progress of the country? My personal opinion or ( Bias ) is that in general, they tend to be more money focused hence little attention is paid to enviroment, pollution, Good treatment of workers etc. I hope im wrong. In a country with barely functioning healthcare system. Can we really afford these negative things? My purpose is to hear from people with first hand knowledge especially people in Nigeria who are at the fore front of things who know whats going on. Please don't hijack the thread and lets be civil. Thanks |
Good Luck. ![]() Lets start small small. I just want to call somone in Naija and actually get through! Without going to someone else i can't speak their language. And yes, without wasting my phone card. I don't know if GPS work or not, but i suggest you get down the car and ask the bread seller! ![]() |
@ Sienna, I hope not to turn this into a banter whatsoever. However, let me correct u on some "misinformation" or better still skewed info on your comparison of a viper and porshe. Porsche is a gem, no doubt. But what u failed to mention or left out is the fact that porsche is gettin its power from twin turbo while a viper is a naturally aspirited car. A naturally aspirited 6cyl porshe will give only 325HP a bit less from what u will get on a 2008 G37 Infiniti for about half the price ![]() Remember porsche has also been in existence for over 40 yrs compared to viper which came out in the 90's Porsche is much lighter and cost about $40k more than a comparable viper (at least in the US). Thats enough money to to get a fully loaded 4-runner or better still get a tacoma truck and a corolla for the money saved ![]() So in recap: Option 1: 1 Turbo porsche Option 2: Viper + 4Runner Option 3: Viper + Tacoma + Corolla The choice is yours. America is about big and cheap horsepower for the common man. Guzzles gas? Yes! Durable? May be not Fast? Hell ya! |
For all ive read in this section, its seems that some people are tryn to compare apples/oranges. THERE IS NO BETTER BARGAIN for performance. Let me repeat: In terms of performance, Dollar for Dollar ITS AMERICAN all the way. You can pick up a Corvette or GT 500 Mustang for around $50,000. These cars comes stock with about 500HP. Modify 'em and you are a speed demon. Dont forget the Dodge Viper too. Name any Foreign car with that type of power in that price range! Also, you guys have to remember that America is HUGE!. Bringing cars here, you will have to consider the Sunny Calif., Arizona, Texas and also keep in mind snow regions. So your car have to come prepared. You cannot make cars without A/C like they do in Europe. A Sienna, Comparing the speed limit/capacity of Audi of European/US is telling half the story. I'm sure you know your cars however remember that US cars are just "electronically Limited" Replace the chip and yank off the catalytic converter (at least until the next emmission test). You are in Business. You cannot find a Mercedes here with manual windows even the old one mostly are powered. Sunroof, leather/leatherette etc. You can dog the US all u want. Have u ever heard of any country that DEMANDS its own spec and make manufacturer comply. This goes waaaaayyyyyyy back. US is a more mature market. It is what it is. I would not want to be caught dead in an European spec vehicle. EVER! F#CK No! |
