A/C decreases your gas milage of course! To what degree? ![]() |
Siena:How can it be checked via the forum to help ppl out? any website like CARFAX. How about cars from Germany, Belgium etc? samboribo:No. You are on your own. |
when i grow up. i wanna be like j-e-n-j-u!!!! ![]() Keep up the good work. Its lonely at the top. Thats what they say. I will change that. Im inching my way there! Stay blessed! |
VIN all the way. New cars, used cars, future car sef wey dem never build. NO EXCEPTIONS! However, mind you, VIN only applies to US cars. European specs dont have them, i think. |
it all depends. if its GTI American specs. u have no option. only 2 doors available. Otherwise go for a 4 door. European specs have a 4dr GTI also. But not American specs |
2001 camry goes for around 1.5 or less in Lagos depending on how clean. Some less. Just figure that you will save around 100k-150k. The 99 camry still cost around 900k-1m on lagos street. And will have to come thru cotonou. So the 2001 will sell for more. just do the math. it cant be a so drastic price difference. its still a very high demand car. |
get in touch wt fotodaddy. he can point you in the right direction. check his profile and contact him |
@ SdBaba, dont try too hard cos efficiency decreases as the car ages. The driving condition etc. Benz will test their car in an "ideal" situation and brand new too. No matter how hard you try you will not achieve that condition in real life. cos of potholes, hills, acceleration etc. Manufacturers have a test lab to create "equal footing" during test. So that when they say 8.5km in Benz it should almost be the same in Nissan or Toyota etc. Just do regular service and enjoy. You are close enough anyway ![]() |
Couldnt wait. ![]() |
@ poster, Its almost as if the vehicle is not yours. Why did you stay too far from the car to take the pics? You can do better. More close up and interior. |
Word. As far as im concerned, i will still wait for the seller. i still cant rule it out that he was duped. Although its his responsibility to know that the car he's selling is representing the tru mileage however he might have been duped also from whoever bought it at auction and sold it to him. Did the seller bought it from auction (in New York) himself? may be, may be not. If he did, then he's the crook. If not, he might have been duped. Knowing that vin can be checked, he wouldnt have posted it at all. At least i will commend him for doin that. Here i rest. |
im not familiar with a 240zx tho. or u mean 240sx? |
i still say lets see what an independent checker say. Romeobest, in your fiest posting to alert this fraud, you said the mileage was reported as 145,811. However in the CARFAX posting you made it shows 145,720. Although its not too far from each other but my question is that where did you get you first figure? If its not from carfax where did it come from? Lets see how this plays out. Im goin to hold my judgement against the seller for now. |
What im still saying is this. The seller has been around this post a while so he knows that vin can be verified. He can always say he will provide vin later if he knows that something is amiss. Him providing the vin is why im giving him an element of the doubt here. Until otherwise. Should he have checked the car to know hes selling clean car? Sure. But mistakes do happen and we dont kno how he came upon the car sef. lets wait and see. |
To Everyone, All i can sayis this. If it is tru that the allegations are as said. It still doesnt implicate the seler of the car because he could have been duped himself. Believe me i know. Nigerians are not only the crooked ones when it comes to car business. Also it does not make hime innocent either. To settle this case, lets provide the vin to any resident Nairalander who can independently verify the claim and go from there. Before we start lynching the seller. I dont know either of them. However the guy making the allegations kinda baffled me. To say that you have been a keen reader but didnt post anything at all. Then you were ready to go to all lenght on this car ALONE. Several cars are sold on this forum. Im sort of baffled. What other cars did you check on? if we must know. I smell bad belle somewhere. So over to people that have CARFAX account. Lets check. We go from there |
sdbaba: rock101:I don't think that sdbaba overestimated anything at all. I just ckecked the 190 data and according to the manufacturer the car should get about 8.5km per Liter of petrol. If you take out other inefficiency and age of the car. Its not an outrageous number at all. 2.5km for every liter is outrageous! Check the car |
You just dont know whos got the money. Dont underestimate anyone. Wetin ijebu do you sef? ![]() |
ariffeddy:Are you for real? The guy posted a picture asking the guys to help hime buy. He didnt say he was selling but you are too quick to berate him. Can you even read? Or u just type cos the computer is in front of you? Watch yourself! |
When i grow up. i wanna be like jenju. I wanna live in East Coast yankee and do big things ![]() Bawo ni omo iya? |
I think the reason why Rhino says that is because, the vehicles are sometimes refered to as Land Rover Range Rover here in the US. even officially. I've attended quite a few auctions in my lifetime and i thinks i've seen it as such. Only here in the US tho. Everywhere else, different story. ![]() |
I have been a religious follower of this site for sometimes now. It always amazes me how sometimes i still see request for 1990-1993 Honda Halla or Bullet (1994-1997). also the Toyota Camry from 1992-1996 Seems to be popular. From my end, i will say its very thin profit (if much at all) considering the risk of Cotonou also. Because of shipping cost. Getting clean ones are becoming harder and harder too. You have to work very hard. My questions to the house (especially Naija happening guys) and those actually seeking those particular cars is that: How much will you pay for the following cars? Fresh Toks . Non Nigerian used. Please honest and realistic imput please. 1. Honda Halla 2. Honda Bullet 3. Camry (1992-1994) 4. Camry (1995-1996) |
And if i may add one thing. Houston has a very large population (if not the most ) number of Nigerians in the US. You know how it goes, Naija factor will set in. ![]() |
@ Capsmo, How much did you end up paying for it total? Just curious |
Funny enough, i actually saw this in Ijebu Ode last time last christmas. It was a white one ![]() |
For all that doesnt know, The car is a "silent Bulletproof" car. Mercedes made them to look like regular benz but its bulletproof. However there are level of bulletproofing. Highest level is Level 6 (or 7). It can withstand AK47 etc and some minor bomb blast. Thats is why its expensive. Pay attention to the rear seat of the driver and passanger. See that bulge? That is an armord plate so that bullet will not pass thru to hit the VIP sitting at the back. However im not sure which level is this car tho. Nevertheless its still way overprized. Big big time. A new benz guard is around $200-$250K depending on level of armor. This is even a used one, im guessing. To know more about benz guard. agbuvwe:Common men How would you price a 1.8m car for 800k ? Shipping, clearing, cost of vehicle all for 800? A 2001 vehicle? Na wah oh. Be realistic |
pictures first! |
@ capsmo, Can you clarify if the Elantra is 1.6 or 2.0 engine? Also is this 2007 or 2008 brand new? |
So what is the update on Elentras now? Anyone with current info? |
Just checked myself. If this is a US spec. it is NOT a 2007 model. The body style changed in 2007. The only explanation is that if it is not a US model, sometimes the will release some cars a year apart depending on the country. Like say a new body might be released this year in the US and nest year in Nigeria market for the following year. Cars like the Accord, Corolla etc do that. @ poster, Waht is your explanation? please |
Exactly, Dont make onne sound like everything that happens there happen everywhere else. Speak the real truth and lets know. I just happen to live in california and know a thing or two about here. Good luck. |
@ poster, Thats what im talking 'bout. Great job. Clean car too. |
