@ gabsi2, First of all. i don't know you. i don't really think i want to. What does my mom has to do with this? please im begging you to be respectful. you are about to have a major trouble on your hand. If you don't respect your mom at home that your business. here i respect my parents tremedously. This is a car forum. Is it far fetched for a university student to want to buy a car and think of oppressing a babe? Any normal living young person will think of it. Ive been a student before and if you have a car its a bonus. Once aain, don't you ever mention my mom again! ever. Otherwise i will make it a life mission of mine to track you down. Dont care if it takes a lifetime. I will surprise you when you least expect. My blood is so boiling typing this. My response is not directed to you. You were suppose to read and move on. Dont ever bring my Mom into this again. Consider this a warning. You wont be this lucky again if it happens again. |
@ bugybugy, Why such a harsh word? its supposed to be a forum. Respect and courtesy is REQUIRED. Its not cool |
DeepZone:Sorry to differ. Waht is your exchange rate? at N118/dollar. That should come to areound 3.1mill. Ship for around $2,000 and clear for about 300k there about. We are looking to around 3.6mill. Its still a long way to 4.7mill (Dont forget its "asking" Doesnt mean hes gonna get that and the fact that the car has been driven a little.Just my 2cents ![]() |
i would guess that Lexus are more plush and refined. Cost more too. Otherwise the engine and gear are same for the most part. just my guess |
Nice job. However, the scenery or landscape should tryly reflect Niaja. Too foreign. Streets too clean and too organise |
Oga Inspire, white? Na you fit dabble in this one o I dey watch sha. Dem say ppl no like white cars |
OK Cos i saw the cream CLS 500 has a Cali plate on it. Thats why im asking. My friend own the jeep. Trying to cut down cost for him. you know. Thanks a lot. More success . |
I am looking to consol a Toyota Sequioa from California to Lagos. Do you have anything going out that way? I live here in Southern Calif |
INSPIRE are you there? |
@ poster,(Xpensiv, Lexicon etc The question to you is : What is a student budget? You might want to consider buying naija used. He's why. I live here in California. Was at a shipper last week and they told me that a Container to Cotonou is about $8,000 and Lagos about $7,060. If you get a cotonou car. it will be 4 per container which makes shipping about $2k each. You will pay around N150k - N180 to get it across to Lagos. So total is about N386,000 each just to ship the cars. So remember the cost of purchase is not included and the the almighty PROFIT. At least that is the whole purpose. So for you to get a car under 1million it will be a tough fight. Some of the cars may not all come with clean CARFAX. Most likely it will be from auction One thing about auction is that not all cars at auction are wrecked. You get perfect cars all the time or with slight fixable damage. Nothing that can affect the functunality of the car. However some people will cry ![]() Example of lets say 1992-1996 Camry (Orobo) will be landing not less that 800-900k. remember almost half of the cost is shipping and clearing. If you offer lets say Honda Allah around 750k people will start complaining say its too old. So that why its better to sell something newer because shipping/clearing will still be same. If you want to ship a single car in a container that suppose to hold 4 cars the choice is yours. The shipping company will be glad to take $8,00 of your money. ![]() Sunny/Sentra/primera will be almost out of the question. im talking 1995 or older. So its still a business decision at the end of the day. Lagos cleared car CAN'T even sell below 1 million for the most part. Let me make something clear though, shipping open (RORO) without a container is slightly cheaper (Not dramatically though) but you will have to ship from East coast . (Baltimore, New York, New Jersey, Florida). May be Inspire or Jenju can tell us how much average from sedan/saloon cars. However used cars around 1996 or older are much cleaner coming from the West Coast or Texas area. So don't forget to answer my question. What is a student budget? You are there please let me know. what will you and your friends consider fair for a used car that can land you that toto from that girl ? |
Very clever. However, compatibilty with sensitive electronics system MIGHT be an issue. Especially the likes of infinity, BMW, BENZ etc Some of these cars use fibre optics wiring and you better know what the hell you are doing. |
@ poster, Rather than tell us whats being compared to. A little more info will be appreciated. Engine pics, make, better interior pics etc. |
People funny sha. How do you think you can get a non - nigeria used 2000 camry for 1m? You ship for around $1500, clear for around 250,000 naira How much you leave for the purchase and profit? Thats roughly 427,000 (give or take @ 118 exchange rate) $4800 or so left. Na wa o ![]() |
price? |
pics? |
@ Cnnnigeria, Why send you email? Are you 419? Dont need to be rude. If its a legit company POST THE NUMBER! |
@ $$Rhino, Nothing is impossible. By the way he said 20k-50k which will still be reasonable (45k will be for the 3 years). Price expectation though? ![]() Join him im prayer ![]() |
@ Pittbaby, Pls if you like your wallet go for the CRV. All the way. The Rogue is powered by the 2.5L engine also found in the Sentra and Altima(4 cyl). However, the 2.5L engine has gotten its share of problems since being introduced few years ago. Especially in the early batch. I am hoping the problems is corrected now. However i dont wanna find out with my $$$$ on the line. Hope it helps. |
How Much will it cost to clear a 2001 Camry, Babyboy or Maxima. Please give me the ranges. I want to send one home to my folks. How about 2001 Sunny/Sentra (As its called here) Looking to hear from everyone else that knows Thanks a lot. Respectfully. |
@ df2006, I don't think that the car was parked because the mileage went up. Looks like the vehicle moved from one state to the other. Might just drove the car without updating the registration at the new state (Especially in the East coast where states seem to be closer to each other). What is importatnt is that when the car comes you, look at the mileage on the odometer that its not lower that what has been reported before on the carfax. Thats when you know that its not been falsified. Also try and do your math on the average driven mileage/year and see if it all adds up. Most big dealership don't do hanky panky because they have too much to lose. its small time dealers that will buy at auctions and roll back mileage trying to pass it off as a low mileage car. At the reported mileage, i will say "No shaking" Hondas easily pass 200,000 miles with no issues. Just keep up your maintenance. Oil change, service, etc DON'T CUT CORNERS! Good luck. Now go out there and get all the toto waiting for you You deserved it all along only she dey yanga. But now, Yanga no more. Una don arrive na ![]() |
@ Kevyngbash, Please be aware that carfax is JUST A GUIDE! Not necessarily a total/sole decider. Insurance companys salvage cars for various reasons. Theft, Accident etc. In case of accident, you might want to consider what type of accident. If its minor enough that you can live with, then by all means consider it especially at attractive price. HOWEVER DONT PAY CLEAN TITLE MONEY FOR SALVAGE VEHICLE!. Theres nothing wrong wt salvage cars if you ask me as long as drivability and functionality is not compromised. I got news for you, NOT ALL ACCIDENT SHOW UP ON CARFAX!. Only accidents REPORTED TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY. If someone decided to "eat" the repair cost after an accident (because monthly insurance payment will go up after an accident, if you report and insurance company repairs the vehicle). It will not show up! Many people do that. a case in point is the Corolla in the earlier post. it was MIA (missing in action) for 4yrs! Hmmm thats a looooonnng time. Same as the Honda. There was a 4yr lapse. Im not saying there is a problem but make you wonder. Not saying carfax is bad, however the true picture is what you see in front of you. Take your mecahnic, listen to engine, look underneath, look inside the headlight area and behind the grill area inside (its not always totally straight after repair), look all the doorline (the little hole left between fron fender and door, the space between front and back door, space between bonnet and fender etc) Is the paint peeling, matching, rough, shining more that the other side? In short, get a "taste" of the car. Walk or make offer. Follow your instinct!. They are mostly right. Good luck |
@ Poster, I wonder why people decide to go into waaaaayyyyy too much technical mumbo jumbo for very simple issue. If you care about your car, the rule of thumb is simple. THINNER OIL FOR NEW CARS (OR LOW MILEAGE). THICKER OIL FOR OLDER CARS (OR HIGH MILEAGE). Hence, if you have somewhat like a 2007 car you will use something like a 5-30 weight oil. Move on to 10-40, then 20-50 as you rack up more miles etc. The biggest problem you can run into as mentioned by other poster is getting a fake oil. Then all bets are off. So if you make a mistake of using lets say a 20-50 oil for a new car you don't have to worry too much. However a fake oil will ruin your engine no matter what. or a fake oil filter. Some mechanic may not know how to spot the fake oil. so BUY YOUR OIL AND FILTER YOURSELF !!! from a reputable station. You can let the mechanic change it at your house if possible. If something goes wrong its coming out of your pocket!!! Unfortunately, the Nigerian culture permits all kinds of things unimaginable. Fake petrol, Fake "pure water", Fake Palm oil, Fake Honey etc. It kind of beats me why people cannot sell the goos stuff which will give them repeat customers and keep them in business much longer. The customer is already paying full price anyway. ![]() And who says 20-50 oil is just for trucks? Wonders shall never end |
Abeg, no yabbing now ![]() Somebody dey cry his eyes out somewhere Be God fearing ![]() |
Looks like the buyer regrets buying the car. he even is ashamed of asking a penny for the car ![]() Abi na free? Chery my foot! |
To others except the poster, Mind you a Mercury villager is considered a "bus" hence its commercial and dont fall under the 8yr rule. The same way u can bring in a Mack truck or a Toyota Hiace of any year tru Lagos without worry. Villager falls under same rule. Ditto to Previa, Quest, etc. Hope this helps. |
@ Poster, As far as US goes they are available. In fact a friend of mine sent it to Naij abalout a year ago but took him long to sell because people don't like manual too much in that car. He has to drop the price. Camry is somewhat a luxury car hence people seems to go for the comfort of Auto tranny. However i don't know if that holds tru for European specs. I will think so though because manual tranny is more common in europe than here. Look harder you can find. I hope this helps. |
@ poster, i have a very limited knowledge of this topic myself for i havent shipped any but looking to do so very soon. You will have to ship thru New York/New Jersey or Baltimore. Mack truck will run you like $5500 -$6000 to ship and will cost around #200,000 to clear in Lagos. I hope this helps. I obtained some quote from some shipping company back in jan 08 and that is where my figures is coming from. Mind you also, anywhere you get your truck from you will have to move it to the port of shipment. this might run another $200-$500 (or more). depending on how far away your truck is to the port. Good luck |
@ Zorro, I am talking about those greyish gravel (i know them as Julius Berger Stone) vs the nornal brownish gravel thats common everywhere. The last time i was supplied the guy refered to it as "local gravel " dont really know what he meant but never really like em at all. Hope my explanationtion is not confusing. |
@ Zorro, Do you supply those shiny "Julius Berger" type of granite or the dull type? Any price difference? Thanks |
@ poster Zorro, Hows granite being produced in Ibadan area? I mean quarry and stuff. Was kicking around a quarry idea wt my friend but money stopped us. Who are the big players there. We were trying to get some crushers etc. Hit me up |
i have people on both Glo and MTN. Thanks |
