CultureRe: What Is The Significance Of The Yoruba Tribal Marks by proverbial: 7:06pm On Jun 24, 2007
The few Igbos I know with marks on their faces got it when they got sick and it fades out over them as you have to look closely to see.
tribalistic bias. So he's saying it's excusable that the igbos do it because it fades out, and is not as thick. There's no justification for marking faces with permanent scars to signify titles, but it is more reasonable to mark faces when one is sick, because the scars will supposedly fade out. grin. I thought any form of face marking is cruel & unusual punishment.

ghettochyk the tiny ignorant girl confined in space, hiding behind a computer desk, spewing jargonic trash, perhaps once bullied by middle-aged yoruba boys with markings on their faces, has to retort to the cyber world for her cowarded payback.
Some life you have if you think fuddled reasoning, ignorance, and curse words will get you far in life child. shocked.

Music/Radio50 Cent, Baby Mama Drama by proverbial(op): 7:01pm On Jun 23, 2007
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. - The $25,000 a month in child support and household expenses that rapper 50 Cent pays to the mother of his 10-year-old son is not enough, says the boy's mother, Shaniqua Tompkins.

The rapper is "worth tens and tens of millions of dollars," said her attorney, Raoul Felder.

The parents of young Marquise Jackson are wrangling over the issue in family court in this Long Island community, where 50 Cent arrived Friday in an armored SUV equipped with a satellite dish.

50 Cent no longer needs to worry about the choice he famously expressed on a 2004 album — "Get Rich or Die Tryin'."

With his G-Unit record label, clothing line, ring tones and other enterprises, 50 Cent — whose real name is Curtis Jackson — reeled in an estimated $33 million in the past year, according to Forbes. He has sold more than 11 million albums and has a new album, "Curtis," due out in September.

His lawyer, Brett Kimmel, called Tompkins "insatiable."

"Her demands keep escalating," he told the Daily News.

Closed-door hearings on the child-support case are scheduled to continue this coming week.

I'll continue to torture you if you keep quoting my posts/ refering to my feminism in every topic.
torture? merely. you're so flattering.
it's spelled teenybooper by the way.
trust, I know. I lazied out at the end.
the word is used to refer to little preteens, paris hilton, hillary duff wannabes. and i'm far from being one.
Again, I know.   We had this discussion earlier (cooking thread). You migh think you're far from being a teenybopper, but you're not far from being an 'equitybopper'.

the things that come to mind about you are your claims, and obsession with unrealistic 50-50.

most traditional marriages that go on in Nigeria will not be eradicated in our generation (if ever).

shocked shocked shocked David might be right on this.
Islander are you Omo-Eko?

I wasn't so sure at first, because Omo-Eko atimes makes some ignorable grammatical errors(which may be intentional), but when I was chatting with you on that other thread, it was Omo-Eko that claimed I attacked you.  Suddenly, Omo-Eko was gone, and I was left alone with Islander.

How could you play me like that, is it true? I hope not, you know we're supposed to be friends now. embarassed lol.

Freewilly, who are you trying to sell that innocent facade? Aren't you the same girl that said yoruba tribal marks were stupid. dolt.

Thanks for the comedy, it was enjoyable while it lasted.
One last suggestion before I exit the thread; get some education while you're still young, it usually develops your mind, and pays off in the real world. shocked
they teach you stuffs like, when to use "you're" and when to use "your"
cheers, some insultive ignorant teenagers who know no better have hijacked this thread grin

freewilly,
birds of the same feather, flock together.  If you didn't give a rat's butt about the so-called stupid marks, why ask to see them.
spoilt,
perhaps the cultures or tribes that practice this still hold the same beliefs, irrespective of what year it is?
have you thought of that.

I'm done addressing you.
CultureRe: What Is The Significance Of The Yoruba Tribal Marks by proverbial: 5:11am On Jun 23, 2007
irst of all, you don't know me and it aint goin get you nowhere to act like you do.

2nd off, do you know the meaning od the word "cowardly"? if so, you'd know that you're using it out of context.

just in case you don't know, and i'm sure you don't, a coward is a person who shows fear. what have written that displays fear?
Thank you. I don't know you, nor do I want to.  Your nauseating display of senselessness, brings shame upon you, and pushes me farther away from you.

How is it out of context.  A very good question was raised, and you're taking the easy way out by saying,  "oh it is barbaric" - I consider that cowardice.
characteristic of or befitting a coward; despicably mean, covert, unprincipled, fearful of opposition.
you dear user, exhibit these qualities.
grin improperly developed tenth grader attempting to teach me grammar usage, what is this world turning to. grin
cheers  wink.

Proverbial, there's really no need for you to be so rude to ghettochyk I don't see what she's done to you. If you Yoruba and you know the significance of the tribal marks please shear with us and quit being rude.
I apologize. She's yet to make a statement that warrants a different attitude(at least from me) towards her.
About the significance of the tribal marks, read my first post.

Thiefofhearts, please refrain from further addressing a narrow-minded soul like ghettochyk. Her username speaks volumes about her ignorance.
Actually, do continue discussing with her, otherwise she'd further perpetuate this nonsensical jargon about yoruba tribal marks. lipsrsealed
CultureRe: What Is The Significance Of The Yoruba Tribal Marks by proverbial: 4:58am On Jun 23, 2007
It is very cowardly of ghettochyk to consider the act 'barbaric'. Afterall, Nigerians are a people, the people have cultures, and the cultures share their beliefs. Some from these cultures (usually yorubas) consider tribal marks to be significant of something(s) (I'll try to find out the "thing(s)" very soon), and until you've done some research to establish your conclusion, in no way should you come out and spit such crap about barbarism. The act itself is most certainly not meant to cause harm(in the cases I know of), and is not performed solely for cruelsome reasons.

Islander, you're here, I'm guessing you've completed the task you mentioned earlier.
Please rephrase the post you addressed to me, I really don't understand. undecided
Christianity EtcRe: I Hate Muslims Even Though I Shouldn't by proverbial: 3:32am On Jun 23, 2007
Good gracious Omo-Eko, these guys are here getting a kick out of your reactions/posts, they want you to continue, and since you're overreacting (and very sensitive might I add) you're playing right into it.
David would like to converse with you about the questions raised on this thread, but he wants to do so politely, and he's asking you to do the same.  There are other effective ways to disagree with him, employ those. undecided

Please brothers, easy on the girl now. tongue

I know this. But that does not mean they have to react asininely, that's what I'm getting at. wink
Ok, got ya, have fun doing whatever it is you plan on doing, cheers. cool
Nairaland GeneralRe: Why Are Nigerian Girls Always Being Attacked On This Forum by proverbial(op): 3:02am On Jun 23, 2007
Now something that addresses the thread.

This is a gender-specific thread. "Why are Nigerian Girls always being attacked on this forum"
When I wrote this, I specifically stated Nigerian girls. Now what I meant and still mean, deals specifically with threads like "Nigerian Girls are stupid" or "Nigerian Girls are liars" or Nigerian Girls are ugly"
Creating a thread that attends to stupid things of that nature does not make me hypocritical, especially when I never was guilty.

you were involved in a clouded irrational personal attack with someone else, you failed to refrain until that statement came about, and that's independent of this thread. Do you understand now? I don't expect to hold your hand saying I'm sorry for making it known you & the other were wasting time talking about nothing.
By the way, I don't understand Island-talk, so I did not comprehend that part of the other stuff written above.
I'm used to civil discussions, I'm glad you'll try it for a change.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Why Are Nigerian Girls Always Being Attacked On This Forum by proverbial(op): 2:28am On Jun 23, 2007
I've come to the conclusion that you've zoned out 90% of my prior posts.  I don't know you, I don't care about you, I didn't know you exist(until that point) so I don't expect to attack you, or make a subject of you, unless we cross paths. wink "dumbasses" addresses more than one, so I was in no way addressing you alone, nor was my response personal.  I read through the thread before making my statement, and it was valid.  When stupidity bestows itself upon people, they often fail to notice it. By pointing out what I did, it was no surprise that the foolish-talk ceased.  Why, because it was foolish, it proves nothing, and it solves nothing.  It just becomes a display of fools barking over nothing (this is not a personal attack by the way).
Also, look at this post of yours, "if you are a beast, then welcome to the shedevil" - what she devil is being unleashed online, why, and to whom, I don't get it.
this type of mentality is not beneficial, especially not on the web when these people you talk to are 5000 miles away, and don't know you, and probably don't care worth a penny about you.
I receive a fair share of hugs, so I don't come online to expect hugs, I didn't realize some people do, but I do now.
When threads that address useful and informative topics are being derailed, I won't hesitate to make it known to those doing it. shocked

With that said, my work here is done. tongue I don't want to expand this or drag this any further.  Just know that, civil conversations are the way to go in the real world.
