I can look at your SOP. But understand this is a high privilege I do not grant as I am very busy with job and have little time to spare than answering questions here. I am just dishing advice based on another first class applicant that was denied and I met him. There are two schools of thought concerning it. There are people with RA and TA and scholarship full funding from Canadian school that CIC denied as “lacking sufficient funds to pay educational expenses without taking employment in Canada.” There are others too who scaled through with no problem having TA and RA and scholarship full funding. Depends on which VO is looking through your application I guess. Best wishes!
Are you sure the funding covered both fees and living expenses?

Please is there anyone in the thread that can corroborate this assertion?

Seems a bit weird that someone would get full scholarship and be denied visa.

This would mean a son of a nobody cannot study in Canada, even with full funding.

In this message you mentioned that the sponsors account statement is to show that they can pay for the second year and subsequent. In my case, its just a year course and I require no subsequent funds from the sponsor. Must the sponsor (my husband actually) stil include their statement of account? The thing the sponsor sold a land just to raise me with some money towards my tuition. His account statement does not usually reflect millions on a regular basis if you know what I mean.
I think if youre leaving ur husband to travel, they may be less rigid on your case. I think the whole thing revolves around preventing people from escaping to Canada through education

Do u follow the golden practice of speaking with supervisors first, securing one before applying? If u first secure a supervisor ur application cannot be denied.

Good Evening everyone, My name is Kunle and have been silently following this thread as a guest, I applaud you all for the useful information.
I did my Medical at Children's practice on January 29 2018 and have not heard anything from the embassy. Friends who did their medical after me have been granted their TRV, I mailed them but all they said is 'They're Still working on it.' I'm worried, just using Faith to put myself together now. Pls anyone experiencing such or has experienced such in the past?
Thanks in advance.
When did you submit your visa application and for which term?

I am not harsh, don't get it twisted but it is bitter to see people heart-broken just because they are ignorant that other good countries exist. When I was very active on this thread, i know many who took into consideration when I preached about Germany, they embraced the opportunity, worked toward it and they are happy studying and making euros there. if Canada isn't giving people what they wished for, please spread your tentacles. I know many who have made it to Australia, USA and Germany that are from this Canada thread then which is where they started this journey. Don't get blind-folded

I think this link might be helpful https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/study-permits/letters-acceptance.html
What I can actually conclude from that link is that the VO/CIC does not have much concerns about conditions such as sending transcript. But on conditions such as requirement to take a prerequisite course or language test or some other form of probation

Thank you so much, like I needed to hear the bolded part.

As regards calling, are you suggesting that I call after sending two mails and not getting a response from them?

I have been sending targeted email, something of this nature:

First paragraph: Introduction and a question about availability of position in their laboratory.

Second paragraph: Interest in their research as well as a thought provoking question (insight) about their work.

Third paragraph: Informing them about the attachment.

That's the typical structure of the email I've been sending. Would you be able to offer any suggestion as regards structuring?
First paragraph: Introduce yourself and your antecedents.
Second: Tell them why you contacted them, how their research interests match yours
Third, tell them how working with them will help their team and your career
Fourth: Ask about space in their lab and plead them to talk to you
Fifth: Thank them well well

Hello house please my school has refused to give me an unconditional letter even after I sent my transcript. I was asked to use the letter they sent to me before. What do I do. Shld I just screen shot d email of receptance sent my my school and use it to apply for trv, alongside my admission letter?

I want to understand this: is it necessary for a sponsor to give a break down of the other dependants yearly tuition? My sponsor(mum) has 2 other dependants
1. please how did u get to send ur original transcript with NOn academic staff on strike!
2. What deadline did Usask give u to submit the transcript?
3. Did they give u funding and which course?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Prudento: 9:15pm On Feb 26, 2018
jnyuwa02:
Refused to give you after you submitted original transcript? That doesn't sound like USASK. At any length do not be discouraged as there are other ways out. Simply apply with your conditional admission letter and enclose the original transcript to the VO. Some people have done so successfully.
How do they get hold of their original transcript? Its the university that usually forwards it to ur new school

Guys, this Current Employment Situation thing, does it mean that if a person hasn't been gainfully employed for three years but gets an MSC admission fully funded by the university they would still deny him visa?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Prudento: 2:41pm On Feb 26, 2018
Slik07:
Yes. The pre-qualification form you filled is not only to assess your eligibility but also to match you with a supervisor where funding is available. You would rarely be given an offer when there is no funding. Either your supervisor contacts you and tells you he doesnt have funding but he can accept you if you provide funding. Or you're rejected.

2. With the rate VOs are looking for reasons to delay applicants, I'd advise you meet all the requirements for your admission and make it unconditional offer before you apply for TRV, unless if the requirement is the one you will meet when you're in Canada.

You can risk it if you want, with a well written SOP.
Kul. Thanks

jnyuwa02:
Yes if you are recommended by your academic unit, 98 percent chance that the school of graduate studies will approve your admission. But funding you just have to play it by the ear. No guarantees, you don't even know you are been considered for funding till you get the news. If you are given conditional admission, no you don't have to send everything before applying for TRV. I will recommend you send everything, but if for one reason or the other you can't, no worries, just show the VO that you meet those conditions by showing the evidence. For example if you were given conditional admission based on sending your original transcript, you need to show that transcript to the VO. If you need to take a prerequisite course and score nothing less than B before the commencement of your studies, you need to show that you have registered for that course or earned the B required. That said, it would be fair to disclose that all is up to the VO's discretion. I know someone with conditional admission who was approved for TRV without even meeting that condition before a VO. When God opens your door, nobody can shut.
Great. Thanks

Hello, I currently have TOEFL, published journal, 4/5 CGPA, and 5 years engineering experience. I would like to pursue sponsored Research MSc. Would i need GRE. Also, which schools would you reccommend for sponsored MSc in engineering.

Many thanks.
No, u mostly do not need GRE in Canada. All you need is to contact as many supervisor s as possible in as many schools as possible. Please check online for tips on contacting a prof.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 13 by Prudento: 9:00am On Feb 26, 2018
Slik07:
1. No. You dont need GRE for PhD admission. It's mostly MBA admission that requires GMAT/GRE. What'll boost your chances is to publish paper(s) on an impact factor-based journal. That paper stands as your research experience and capabilities. If you've not published any paper, dont stress yourself. You can still get PhD offer without it. Most schools in Canada offer funding for PhD especially Engineering students. A school with low budget as MUN offers minimum of CAD$19, 000 for PhD engineering students and CAD$16, 000 for MEng students per year.

2. Yes because you're not on ground, it's a bit difficult but not impossible to get a supervisor. I would advise you check the department of the course you want to apply for. Read the areas of research of the professors and their journals before you email them. Pls, avoid generic emails. Tailor their emails to suit their research interests. Dont go about boasting of your high CGPA. Dont go begging or acting desperate. Simply tell them the value you can add to their research group. The contributions you can make if s/he agrees to supervise you.

3. I'm not sure. But you can quickly go and fill pre-qualification form for USASK now. It takes 10 weeks for them to get back to you. Once you're picked, admission is assured whether you contacted a supervisor or not. Pls, dont make mistake in filling the form esp the supervisor part. It's automatic disqualification if you do. You can also check Ryerson, Western, Queen's Universities etc.

The new immigration law in the UK according to @zan1999 is the Tier 2 visa. After graduation, you can apply for Tier 2 visa to remain in the UK for 24 months.

Best of luck!
If you get a supervisor at USAsk and you're recommended for admission, is it a guarantee that you'll get finding?
If you're given conditional admission, do you have to send all documents before you can apply for trv?

[quote author=Frankrobbn1 post=65366410]Prudento,

No! If you wish you can complete upfront medicals and attach the E-medicals slip to your application. Upfront medicals helps in faster processing of your visa. So, if you do not undergo an upront medicals then you have to wait for CIC to instruct you to complete medicals, when such notification comes from CIC then it's a sign of success/visa approval. [/quote

What if you're doing paper application through Visa Application Center. Do you still need an upfront medical certificate?
What's the typical duration before someone is invited for a medical exam?

Please do you have to wait until you're instructed by the vfs before doing medical test?
