I think there was little or no publicity at all as regards this year's lagos marathon compare to the previous ones. I will advise that whenever anyone is stranded or still far from his or her destination at an unholy hour, such a fellow should look for church or Mosque that is keeping vigil.
And if you are short of t/fare, you should always beg people to put you on a bus going to your destination.
