That should not be a problem if the State Govt put their minds to it, cos I believe the State Govt understand the issue about electricity before embarking on this project.

I dont think the subsidy is a bad idea (or else it would have not lasted that long) the only problem we have is the Nigeria factor {corruption}. if implemented with transparency it will ease off the cost of leaving for the masses. I believe FG can foot the bill for now while working on a permanent solution.

Thank you! I hope so too. Also hope the limitations Nigerians have in taking such kinds of opportunities are eliminated. That's why the Gems mechanical turk platform is the future here
Is it in the pre-launch state or the platform has kick off already?

BusinessRe: Working From Home: Why The Gems Protocol Is The Future Of Mechanical Turk by pryme(m): 11:05am On Jan 07, 2018
isrena:
For those who are familiar with the concept of working from home and earning few cash without leaving the comfort of home, Mechanical Turk will sound familiar to them as it provides many people a means of earning honest cash buy solving simple tasks online, called microtasks. these are tasks that typically require human intelligence, tasks that computers currently are unable to perform. Micro tasks are used in a wide range of firms, such as Google, Facebook and Twitter, as well as governments, in order to enhance their solutions, and some other companies have created a platform where they offer workers a chance to complete a task for a reward, such as Amazon Mechanical Turk (MTurk), an online marketplace created in 2005, to help companies use this tool for processing digital contents like photos/videos, data extraction and verification, information collection. Whether is by filling simple surveys, extracting information from documents or arranging graphics, workers on mechanical turk early from a few cents to a dollar per task. The average earning per hour ranges between 1.25USD to 5USD. As such, for somehow who is unemployed, but rather works on Mechanical Turk for 8 hours would have earned on average 10 to 40USD per day, or 70 -280USD per week, or 280USD to 1120USD per month. That is a about 103,600 NAIRA, to 414,000 NAIRA per month! That's many times the minimum wage and way more than the average salary earner in Nigeria.

But why is MTurk not so popular popular that you find most Nigerians tapping into this opportunity, if it can potentially bring such returns? The answer is simple, the current platforms providing marketplaces for Mechanical Turk workers are wrought with many limitations most of which are due to centralization of such platforms. For example, Amazon Mechanical Turk, perhaps the most popular platform for Mechanical Turk, has a low acceptance rate for new users especially non-American users. That is, chances are that as a Nigerian in Nigeria, your application to work on amazon mechanical turk will be turned down. Most times, the reason for application denial is unknown as such reasons are proprietary to Amazon.

Aside from the poor acceptance rate, the few Nigerian workers on Amazon Mturk have challenges receiving their payments, as they are compelled, to receive their payments as gift cards which may not be useful to them and which they may have hard times converting to cash. You may have seen many people on nairaland here trying to sell gift cards. Such difficulty often discourages many Nigerians from working on Mturk.

Further, there is also the problem of the UI of Amazon Mturk which usually brings confusion especially to new users leading to spending much time before completing a task which in turn leads to lower earnings. There is also the problem of redundancy, as requesters (companies requiring microtasks to be done) typically verifies work done by allowing different workers do the same task, thereby encouraging redundancy. With such existing platforms wrought with many limitations and redundancy and issues associated with centralisation, many people from nigeria are discouraged and excluded from earning honest cash, even when unemployed.

The solution is GEMS! Gems is a decentralized, open-sourced, human task crowdsourcing protocol built on top of the Ethereum blockchain. Using the Gems Protocol, anyone can tap into the power of scalable micro task workers without needing to worry about task verification, trust, or payments. Backed by A great team that includes the founder of gifs.com, and advisors including co-founders of Twitter, District ox and Aragon. By using the Gems Protocol, the Gems Platform removes socioeconomic barriers that exist in centralized alternatives (e.g. large fees, market inefficiencies, need for bank accountants, etc.)

In the gems platform, micro task workers do not need a bank account in order to receive their payments, ensuring that the about 38% of unbanked people, are not left out. Being a decentralised blockchain platform, workers on the gems platform are paid in the Gems token. Imagine earning your first crypto, not by risky act trading, but by honestly performing microtasks online from the comfort of home. Workers also do not need to be limited by their locations

Regarding the issue redundancy, which indirectly makes other centralised Mechanical Turk platforms expensive for micro tasks requesters while mounting a downward pressure on the payments microtask workers eventually earn, Gems uses a system of creating staking and trust scores, which ensures task completion accuracy without the need of multiple assignments, thus reducing the cost and preventing the idea of charging excessive fees, ensuring that both task requesters and task workers are happy. Gems is not simply a platform for micro tasks, but rather the tool to build any platform that involves verifiable work.

So, there you have it- Gems platform for Mechanical Turk might be the job you have been waiting for this year. With just a computer and internet connection and a brain, you can start earning real money online regardless of your location, or banking status. Unlike the current mechanical turk platforms available, such as the Amazon Mturk, Gems protocol promises decentralisation of the mechanical turk industry, a better user interface, more effective payment system, and greater efficiency by eliminating redundancy. As Nigerians, I believe we stand so much to gain from Gems as the currently available Mechanical Turk platforms are rather unfavorable to us, with a high rejection rates of Nigerians.

You can read more about the Gems protocol at www.gems.org Also check out https://blog.gems.org/introducing-gems-the-protocol-for-decentralized-mechanical-turk-8bd5ef29ca82 and https://techgeek365.com/introducing-gems-protocol-gem-futuristic-decentralized-applications/ Have further questions about the blockchain, mechanical turk or Gems? Let me know in the comments....until then, see you earning real cash on the Gems platform soon!
Op thanks alot, this is a very very innovative, it's articles like this that can make a huge difference.

I just hope there will be a way around where Nigerians can be able to sell on Amazon, the amount of revenue generated there daily by top sellers is sickening.

you practically said men should fvck older women when you said "men just don't have the guts to go for them, they prefer little girls they can control" bro that was a load of bull from you.

the only standard that is there is the law.as long as its not a crime just let people do what they want.just coz you dont see as right doesnt mean another man wont come after your daughter. its a free world. stop forcing your will and standards on everyone. do you. let people do what they see as good for them. you are not God.
OK Sir, I see where you are getting your thunder from.

A man that is approaching his 40s should go for "ladies" NOT teenagers. I hope you this is clear enough for you.

Ofcos it's not a crime, I mean it's not a crime to live like a pig, neither is it a crime to receive bjs from an animal, and it's not a crime if a 60 yr old man marries your 18 yr old daughter or sister.

And last but not the least, it's not a crime to be rètarded.

Happy sunday everyone, so I just got out of church and I decided to share this because it's been bothering me, I like curvy ladies, ladies with big butt and boobs but as of late I noticed most curvy girls, like that of OAP toolz, Juliet abrahim and many more that most of us like don't have brains, they just have banging body with beautiful face but nothing up stairs they feel like all we guys want is just their body but it's more to that!

I was with a thick girl recently, carry front and bag but man her reasoning faculty is low, she can't reason well, she can't keep up and intelligent conversation she is always on her phone, taking pictures, snap chatting and all that.

But most skinny girls, I mean slim ladies with average butt and boobs seem to be more intelligent and cab hold a conversation, they are quite intelligent and don't always spend their time taking pictures and all that ; I mean why do thick girls just care all about flaunting their bodies? Guys what are your opinions on this, have you people also noticed this that slim girls are more inclined towards career part than thick curvy girls who just flaunt their body about For men?
It's true, and it's sad isn't it?

I am NOT religious. Actually told him that from get go. He says he is kinda religious because he tried to go to church. But I should have known it was BS. I grew up in the church and a lot of people are hypocrites, a small part of why I stopped going to church. But that's another story.

But he told me he smokes weed once in awhile and of course having sex. If he was religious, he wouldn't even do those things. In fact, when I was religious, I didn't do any of those things. And I even told him about it and he said we are natural sinners, he didn't seem upset that he sinned or anything. So, seems his religious thing is BS too.
Hahaha, welcome to my world. When a girl puts up the religious show, that's the end for both of us, I run without looking back. What I have been thru with religious women, I won't wish for my friend.

It's ok, I am more disappointed than anything. He is 35 years old and playing these games. I am a good person and been genuine from the get go. If someone did this to his sisters, he would have been mad. Yes, it's better I know now than find out months or years later, if this ever was gonna continue that long.

Yeah, I am not sad because I wasn't emotionally invested. I liked him but I wasn't in love. It's ok, not my loss.

Dumb?? I reactivated my dating profile and sent him a message, kept it classy and told him to lose my number and delete my pics. The pics were just selfies. And I told him I will do the same. I also told him he called himself religious but has no problem lying while God watches. And told him he should have been man enough about his intentions. I don't intend on him replying but I still wanted hiim to know I caught onto his BS.

It's like wow, all that for what?

Regardless life goes on.

ETA: That sucks she did that to you. I wish people could be honest and genuine instead of all these games and immature tactics. No wonder the dating world is so messed up in America. Can't speak for other countries. But that's why women are becoming jaded or they submit to the hook up culture, and fuckbois are loving the date culture and the good men probably have a hard time finding a decent woman.
Religious Ppl? Am very very weary of them. My only worry now is that, if you will take this out on the next guy.

Anyway, I updated the thread. It's officially over. Done. Both of my friends think this doesn't make sense, and one told me to wait 2 weeks lipsrsealed for him to respond and try to confront him. But i doubt he is gonna reach out to me. He had no problem communicating regularly beforehand but now he is overseas, which is probably a lie, he can't communicated.
Sorry about how things are unfolding, I was once in your shoes, we were fine until one day we had a small quarrel she went ghost mode on me, I didn't hang around to find out why, cos I thought it was the most immature thing to do.
I guess men and women are not so different afterall, well what can I say bullet dodged? If you guys have only been dating for 2 months then it won't be too hard getting over him and moving onto better things.

Am sorry how things panned out.
