You forget that towards the ending of GEJ's govt they were borrowing to pay salaries despite the oil boom.
So who is suppose to borrow, the one that has experienced oil boom or the one tackling recession.

The case oil subsidies was because the govt could no longer afford it, again we were tackling recession.
The remittance of the Customs is what you read about this year, it's a new development which needs time.

The monetary policies of the CBN you are criticizing is the reason why the Naira stopped sliding into 500/$, it's not perfect but it's a work in progress.

I must say am very disappointed with Buhari with the issue of the killings going on in this country, he has failed in that regard.

School fee too were increased both in private and public schools but those working with private never witness increament in their salary until about 3 yrs later.
My point is this, when social amenities are available, the number of dependency would reduce, when people are able to invest in other sectors through good policies or subsidized ways. We will all enjoyed.
If I may ask, what's the percentage of our population working under govt that they want every kobo coming into govt purse be used to pay them.

Let's be sincere, if govt says, they want to privatize all sectors, will the labor unions agree?
When any agency is privatized, the production usually improve because every worker must be productive to be paid wages. Very few of these workers are productive.
I want labor unions to rather protest against the jumbo pay for our politicians which is why things are getting worse.

Let's look at things from a layman's point of view, because I have come to find that too much paper work and bureaucracy always leave a lot of Grey areas, and it's from these Grey areas that we have politics and looting.
You may have sound game plan on how to make the current minimum wage have value, but that will never be the case until :-

(from a layman point of view - which is very direct) the price of fuel is slashed. Transportation is the life blood of any emerging economy. It's responsible for moving goods and services around. And fuel drives the transport sector.
I can remember when the price of fuel went up, the impact of that was felt immediately in the price of foods, not only that you can imagine where is I use to barb my hair for 200 is was charged 300 that same week. Not only did price of items went up, price of services too also went up. I can also remember the telecommunications companies reviewing their tariffs too.

The sad truth is the minimum wage is not the answer, but do you think these set of leaders can give you the answer? Where we have stupid mix of people, the ones that have integrity but are clueless, and the ones that are smart and know what has too be done but are too selfish to make the sacrifice (like the legislooters you talked about).

So among these 2 options, Sitting down and waiting for a clueless government to get their acts together

The new minimum wage.

We just have to choose the leaser evil.

When the price of food items went up (the reason back then was because the price of the dollar went up) no one called on labour, now that the dollar has gone back to 365.00 price of food items is still at the price when the dollar was 450.00 to 500.00.

So is it now that we are about to have a new minimum wage that we want to call on Labour? The salary you are taking home now is as good as half its value cos the price and cost of living has doubled up.
