I don't see any reason why anyone should fail Secondary school Mathematics. The problem is some people are just lazy. I used Bunday in my 100L... I attempted all the exercises in there and solved about 80%. Attempt to solve all the exercises under each topic in any text book you're working on, take the ones you couldn't solve to a senior, or your teacher. Another, try solving each example on your own.
Mathematics is simple. |

tunery004: You said and I quote ' can the Ijaw, Fulani, Igala, Yoruba and Hausa stand alone' my sentiment is why you didn't mention the Igbos, well, if Kosovo and South Sudan could stand alone, then those aforementioned tribe could. You said poor governance is the source of our problem, I beg to differ, our problem is ZONING and our bias towards ethnicity when we appoint those to lead us. We are so tribalistic that we neglect those with better credentials and appoint mediocre ones because a part of the country must rule. My question is if we continue to elect our leaders based on ZONING, when are we going to get good governance? Good governance will come that moment we all stop being BIGOTS. Do you really understand this "Nigerians do not discriminate on the basis of ethnicity until their primal sentiments are aroused or their economic or political interests are threatened" ? |

tunery004: Since the amalgamation of 1914, nothing has divided Miss Flora Shaw's creation than ethnicity and religion. After a century of unhealthy cohabitation, the last general election really brought out the true nature of the entities that made up Nigeria. From the Obi of Onitsha calling a tribe 'the amala people' to the Oba of Lagos and his famous 'Lagoon' statement, never have we had it this bad. The politics section of Nairaland has been going agog lately with frequent stories of Biafra and so much hate and intolerance could be felt all around us. So I ask, where is the love? Religion they say is the opium of the people, religion did its part in the propagation of the dread sect Boko Haram, religion is why our people taught the last general election was between 'light and darkness'. Religion is why our leaders go kneeling in churches and beclouding our sense of reason with their sympathy and humility to a so called god. My question is, what good has religion done to us other than divide us more and also defraud us of our reasoning. General Yakubu Gowon brought the NYSC scheme to unite us, but today Nigerians are selective of where they want to serve, even the NYSC has failed it purpose. No Easterner want to serve in the North and same it is for every other tribe. Finally, I will conclude by saying we all should peep into the politics section of Nairaland and watch the threads with the highest pages, I bet you it will definitely be about the intolerance of one tribe to the other, the mockery of one religion to the other and then you will find out that no one is truly a Nigerian, its either they are Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Fulani, Ikwere, Ijaw, Itshekiri,Nupe, Igala, Tiv, Ibibio and so much more only to be joined together by what we called 'THE SCAM' of the last century. Can the Ijaw, the Fulani, Igala, Yoruba, Hause stand alone? From my essay "Nigerians do not discriminate on the basis of ethnicity until their primal sentiments are aroused or their economic or political interests are threatened". Think of it, The source of Nigeria problem is poor governance and poverty, not religion or ethnic diversity. Have you ever think of it that the America strength lies in the diversity of their culture? Spanish-Americans, Italian-Americans, Jews, Muslims, Indians, Africans... have their area of specialty which contributes to the greatness of America. The visa-lottery scheme is also a means to bring more people with different cultural background to their country. |

DeeTus: Obviously, it is a catalyst for national deformation in Nigeria and in this essay, I would explain couple of facts that are involved here.
First of all, religion has remained one of the limiting factors jeopardizing Nigeria's growth, even though the country claimed to live in peace and tranquility to the outside world. The issue of Boko Haram as a case study, is obviously something the so-called entity has not handled properly, as a result, gave way to mediocrity. The nation will continue to struggle due to religious disunity.
Second, ethnic diversity ought to have been the key to unity. Unfortunately, it is other way round. The government is perhaps handicapped probably because of selfish interests by some powerful politicans.
Third, there is a popular saying "united will stand while divided will fall." This is what Nigeria is experiencing at the moment. They're simply not united. Even those who speak the same local language, for example, the Igbos. While Yorubas and Hausas are slightly better.
Infact, whatever it is, we all should understand that we don't have another Nigeria and must make some sacrifices to save our beloved country from further damage. The West are making mockery of us right now and capatalizing on our lack of unity.
In a nutshell, we can only solve these problems by ourselves and make Nigeria a better place for living. What we need now is sincerity, hardwork and unity to turn things around. If I am allowed to comment, the issue of Boko-Haram is never based on religion or ethnicity. Boko-Haram has destroyed Mosques, And the most places they bombed is the north. Same goes to Niger-Delta. |
