dhtml18: You are welcome. I shall be brief. 1. I started from visual basic 6.0 back then, then later went into c,c++,java and gradually entered web via asp/perl
Right now: - For Web: I use php technologies, and I am an expert with JavaScript. Although I can use node.js and MEAN stack, but I have not yet done any useful project with it. - For Windows Desktop: I use Visual basic 6 (for some light-weight projects), Visual basic .NET 2013, JAVA (for more stronger apps) - For Windows Commandline: I use C,C++,PHP (yeah, it can do win32 console apps too) - For Mac OS: XCODE/Object C (only runs on mac) - For IOS: XCODE/Object C - For Android: Android Studio / Eclipse - For Hybrid apps: Flash builder with PHP - Some other other platforms, but the above are what I really use for most of my work
Of course, I have summarized it a bit. . .but that is it in a nutshell.
@topic: I have almost finished the social networking site blocking me, once I am done, we shall kick off our long overdued tutorial. I learned c,c++ in school, but java and python on my own. One of these young lecturers that taught me c,c++ and very good in it said I should drop python and start working on Java reason being python is old, which I was against. What do u think? cc Seun |

I never said the scoring is unfair, this has nothing to do with me. Nunu complained. And I made it clear that I did not believe the judges were biased, I even praise them, especially the Jarus that choose to abuse instead. It is about the ethic of any competition like this, so that someone somewhere will not have a reason to doubt the result of the debate later in the future. Even after an apology in case if I said something wrong. All I got is abusive words(fool, kid) for making a suggestion will prevent future crisis like this. |

OAU 69 FUNAAB 70

I will always stand on this point, I don't how you see it. It is wrong for Goodluck Jonathan to be the judge in a debate between University of Portharcourt vs University of Ibadan. If Uniport won even if they deserve it, some people from ui will not accept, they will say Goodluck is biased. It is fundamental, everyone should understand this. It is not about anything, it is about what is not norm. It is funny, I have to be called a fool for this. |

Jarus: Is this fellow called Pseudonomer serious?
This is why I select activities I engage in on NL.
Can someone tell the young man that OAU has never won any debate I judge, since last yer, including this one? Can someone tell the fool that I was the Judge 2 that scored OAU 69 and FUNAAB 70? How is it my business if the other judge, whom I don't even know, scored OAU higher and eventually won the aggregate.
This is why I keep quiet most times, I don't really talk much if you know me in person reason being this. I may have to quit the debate. If you actually try to read my post, you will not resolve to "cursing". You actually call me a "fool". I don't believe you just said that. Fynestboi: You sha want me to talk...... Lol..... How is been an alumni or supporting had to do with this.....? Am surprised this is coming from you..... Well just know that the way we assume things are not always the case.... I know you are an alumni. You shouldn't get me wrong bro, I don't have any issue with today's result and I am being sincere. At least, I respected Jarus so much, I religiously believe in him, in fact, I look up to him. So we all got what we deserved today. But you know sometimes we felt that the result of things did not actually reflects our efforts. This is the reason why Nunu wasn't that happy with the result. I had to encouraged the team not to give up and that we can win because the stance we took was a difficult one, I guess Nunu put so much effort, and he believed he deserved better. And sometimes, our best is never good enough. I am saying my opinion, in case of next time. In a fixture like this, a school should not be supporting the motion in all its fixtures, I am so sure you oblivious of that, and it is not your fault, it is big task, you might not see that. And an alumni should not be judging. I mean, so that you can protect the integrity of the competition, and that someone somewhere will not have a reason to doubt the integrity of the result. On behalf of my partner and myself, we are very sorry if you think we doubted the integrity of the Judges. Thanks |

Nunushokoto: With all due respect sir this is quite unfair. I sense a lot of biasness in this result because these score are way beyond low nd I would like the moderators to loom into this. Even the 2nd speaker for OAU wasn't actively involved in d countering session, isn't that supposed to have a mark attached to it? D judge asked questions from both speakers from funaab and only from one speaker from OAU. I sense a foul play here It's nothing, you can't expect fair result all the time in any competition and I'm not implying that this result is fair or not. To frank, I don't really know I just accept what comes my way. But when one of the judges is OAU alumni, we need to ask questions. It's like webb(from England) being the official ref. for the match between Man. utd vs Barcelona. And how can OAU be the only school that was so lucky to be supporting every motion from the start, and I think they got lucky and OAU placing over ABU also show how lucky they can be. But I guess the result is not really that bad. I do appreciate the effort of the judges and the coordinators, it has never been easy judging or coordinating events. |

UjSizzle: You say the youths are corrupt and have proven to be inept at governing even the smallest political body. How do you suggest Nigeria can come out of this? Can you proffer possible measures that can be put in place to prepare the youths for governance when these old men finally retire or pass on? The youth have to start taking a strong stance against corruption now, we have to go about changing our mentality, and changing the people around us. We need to stop the act of greed that was breed in us. We need to start doing community service(free service to the community without monetary gain) and helping our society in our little way. We need to know it is not just about us, it is all about the well-being of every Nigerian. We need to stop taking bribery or give one. We need to show we are different from the old men we call corrupt, we need to start saying no to them. We need to show it is not about our present situation, it is about the future. The change is in the hand of the Youth, it needs to start from us. |

Miracy: A leader is a leader. .. what matters is a successful administration. Nigerian youths can really show our ineffective democrats what democracy should be all about. The inventive mentality, innovative proficiency and creativity that accompany the youthful naivety which goes against the creed of our old-fashioned rulers stand them in good stead for the huge task of overhauling the nation’s present challenges.. Will it be an easy task? Definitely No but it is a realistic objective. A leader is not always a leader. Circumstances change. And are you trying to say the old men do not have inventive mentality(Obasanjo), lacks innovative proficiency(Former Governor of Lagos state, Fashola) or Creativity? Late Yaradua ruled Nigeria effectively and I don't think he was a youth then. Just like my partner's quote "What an elderly man sees while sitting, even if a young man climbs the highest mountain, he will not be able to see it" – Nigerian Proverb. |
Education › Re: Nairaland Interschool Debate Match Three: WINNER OAU by pseudonomer: 9:08pm On Jun 21, 2015 |
Miracy: Remember that Nigeria is blessed with manpower and resources but the lack of good governance to utilize these opportunities keep pushing Nigeria to the background in international politics. There is no point in keeping failed elders in government. In business, youths have demonstrated across the world that they are capable of bringing a new touch, new dimension and new initiative products that could sell in millions. In science, youths have equally demonstrated their ability to improve on old knowledge and discover new things. It is also the same in every other aspect of life. Why can’t youths take the chance in government? Since the older people usually concentrate on bigger challenges, like the stability of government and get consumed by it, the youths concentrate on minor but very crucial aspect of government, things that are crucial to the stability of the society. Is it across the globe or in Nigeria? |

Miracy: There are actually degrees of idleness cos one can be unemployed and also underemployed. You can't expect a youth who dreams big but ends up being a bus conductor cos of the situation of the country to make the best out of himself. What do you say to leaders who were able to make great achievement at their youthful age as a leader... See the likes of Murtala Mohammed who was head of state at 37 and his 6 months at the helm of affairs was very promising; also,Gowon who was 32 when he became head of state at the time Nigeria was going through her biggest crisis - the Civil War... they made a useful impact. Those are head of State, it is easy to rule then, because there is no division of power. But a Nigerian youth president(democracy) is more likely to be a “figure head” president, someone that will be pushed around by the party. Do you think a president of 28 years old will rule the country effectively with the likes of 50 years old senate president, 60 years old vice president, the house of assembly where the average age is like 55 years old? He will be face with so many difficulties because he will not want to step on the old men toes (We know what happened to Goodluck trying to step on Obasanjo), in a country where we believed if someone actually younger to be our child ruling over us hurts our pride. A younger president will actually be ruled by the party, people that help him there, the same old men will still be ruling, the youth president will only be a camouflage president. The Nigerian youth is far from ready. |

Miracy: There's a popular saying... "an idle mind is the devil's workshop"... what do you expect from the youths out there who have been hoping for things to get better but only get worse?? ?. .. Their dreams have been shattered and all hope lost... No one dream can be shattered. The same youth that refused to go into Agriculture, or go into entrepreneurship to start from the scratch. The same Nigerian youth that has never invented anything before. The same waiting for a white-collar job. The same Nigerian youth has never done anything to improve their society waiting for the government to do everything for them. The Nigerian youth lacks the mental strength, the experience to rule Nigeria. |

Samtolly4JESUS: *I laugh in Spanish * Gambling is what those old cargos have been doing with Nigeria, they keep playing us and compromising our development for their own selfish interest. Besides, there's no harm in trying, the youths and children also are the majority in the society, they understand their own needs and aspirations, and they understand the challenges of the modern day youths which are beyond the scope of the elderly people to be able to proffer any meaningful and impacting solution. The youths that allow themselves to be used as tools of destruction, hate, division and looting by the professional treasury looters, the ones that kill a petty thief for stealing N20 but praise the “political class” for stealing their future and robbing it in their faces, the ones that are been blinded by religion and ethnicity, the ones whose rights have been denied for a very long time (lack of quality education and impoverished economy) thereby making them to accept anomalies as norms can actually make a great president? You want to give this youth your chance? |
