We've watched movies almost throughout the year, From Hollywood to Nollywood to Bollywood to Ghallywood to Chinawood(lol) Etc

Some made us cry, some made us brace up, some inspired us, some annoyed us, some made us laugh really hard..

The question comes down to
WHICH MOVIES MADE YOUR 2016??

Mine are :Jungle Book, Captain America(civil war), Love triangle, and zootopia

Jungle book rocks, the legend of Tarzan, Benghazi soldiers, ride along 2, eyes in the sky, mother's day, Grimsby brothers, mechanic revolution.... Just to mention a few. This year certainly has lots of good movie to look back to..

I was in Jss1 very flexible, in one of our PHE classes, the topic was gymnastic. Everyone knows I could do dis acrobatic posture dat I walk wit my hands and my legs will be hanging above my head. Everyone begged me to come and do it for d class. I thought about it as an opportunity to impress Tosin my crush. Unfortunately for me I was given one oversize sportwear,and I forgot I was nt wearing any underwear, as I got into my my acrobatic posture,my john thomas (prick) hanged out from one side of my hip side,waving hello is it u to everyone. For my mind I was expecting claps and cheer, instead it was dead silence......and long stretch of Jesus! The teacher did her best to distract everyone but d deed was done. I felt like dieing dat day

The app is nice, not just the interface.. U can play games with the Google assistant, if none of your friends are online. It will as well teach you. I watched a movie about humans dating an app on their computer.. I think this might be D beginning of it... Lol

This app is fun, I tell you, only that It doesn't know pounded yam and Amala and ewedu soup.

where did you even know you are going... ? you are here complaining of everything not working in your life. Have you thought of those things that are probably going well for you. You need to get out a little more, and see people who are in unimaginable situations perfectly happy with their lives... before you end it.... you might probably want to let people who still have something to live for have your organs...a little kindness from you

I don’t like asking for help. Who does? It brings out all those uncomfortable feelings of vulnerability, loss of independence, of being a burden. It requires a level of honesty and trust I have not mastered before.

Truth be told, I’m getting there already, because pain makes sure I get to practice what I seem not to be use to.

Pain is humbling. A day ago, I needed to carry something heavy down a wet stair , and right there I could have easily asked to be assisted, I’m not proud. I just decided not to burdened anyone, so I embarked on my simple task and came down the stairs gently, step by step I descended, suddenly, I placed a foot on a slippery point and that was it. I landed hard on the floor on one of my hands, and for like few seconds, all I heard was vibrations and tingingling all over my body. I couldn't feel one of my hands also. I picked up myself and I lost coordination, as my eyes eyes were tired. I sat right there for like a minute. And that was it! The pains came like nothing I have never felt before, especially in my hand. I have withstand pains, but this was way different. I wanted to scream but I couldn't bring myself to do it.

The pain was like no challenge I’ve met before. It’s life grabbing me , shaking me until my bones rattle and my skin shivered. Screaming in my head, Will you listen now ? It says. Will you fucking listen?

I still fight it. Then I yield, and bow. And listen. I picked up myself, went to the lab packed up and headed out to my house.

Maybe such a stubborn student like me needed such a fierce teacher like PAIN

But you know what? Turns out that the door I need to open in order for others to help me, is the same door that love comes through.m. But now I know. When someone helps me they’re saying (with our without words)

You can rely on us. We’re willing to go through some trouble for you. You’re not alone.

Who knew?

Pain strips you of a lot of things, now I had to adjust to using one hand to do everything for now, and painfully I can't get out to do anything productive until I get better.

Things i thought I had to do. Things I liked to do. Things i dreamt of doing in the last few hours. All gone, cos I wanted to do it all by myself

The pain took away so much, but if only I was willing to let go and seek help it leaves me with something invaluable.

For me as a person, the fact that there are a lot of things I can’t do is not a problem. Joint effort thrives in limited spaces. When you can’t reach for the obvious solution you’ll have to dig deeper to find a way, and the results of your labour will be more original for it.

This is my point right now. And I’m not talking about self care as a good health decision, or even as kindness. But self care as necessity. As an integral and inseparable part of a healthy life.

This is where it’s decided. I’m just beginning to understand the extent to which we miss out on our power and potential because we don’t know how to take care of ourselves properly. Half the time, we don’t even know what we need, and certainly not how to give it to ourselves. Lifetimes of conditioning tell us that duty comes first. So we oblige. We struggle and we strive.

Knowing when and how to go slow is one aspect of taking care of ourselves. Sleeping is another. Filling up on inspiration. Enjoying our bodies, our sensual experiences, food, light, warmth, moonlight, poetry, sound, paintings, space. Understanding energy. Making friends with time and silence. Approaching work in the spirit of giving and receiving, rather than achieving.

Opening that door fully invites a kind of creative energy into your system that is unlike anything you’ve known before.

We usually give ourselves what we need only if there’s time, after the “real” work is done. And we do it as a remedy, to avoid stress, burnout and disease. Which is a good start. But it’s like using a lorry as a car. That’s a lot of unused loading space.

Self care is not optional. It’s mandatory!
